I spent some time looking through all the features of Avada and now I’m thinking WHERE has this theme been all my life?!

I just have one question, and that’s about the license. I read the ThemeForest license terms but maybe it’s too legalese for me to understand.

I just want to know how many of MY websites can I use the theme on? I won’t be using it to do any work for anyone else, or sell it, etc. etc. Just my own websites.

Hi, Thank you for a great theme. I have two issues on site http://www.plasticwholesale.com.au/sandbox/.

1. On Windows XP / IE8, the layerslider on the homepage does not display at all. There’s the following JS error:

Sure we can take a look at these, but do need you to post on our forum where we handle support like this. We are very limited in what we can do here in the comments. Signup at our forum, and post up your above questions with the error message. That error message does not look theme related though, but we will check it out for you. The layer slider is compatible with IE8 and higher as our demo shows.

For the responsive issue, its either a customization done after sale, or its a plugin issue. Please deactivate any plugins you are using to see if that helps. If you performed customizations after sale, please verify those as well. If you can reinstall the theme files that would also help as it iwll revery back to the originals. That can be done for testing to verify as the site is fully responsive in all browsers as it comes from Themeforest.

I love the theme, but dislike one thing on the stock theme. If its easily changeable. I’m sold!

The mouse over on images that turns green with the link button. I would like the opacity to change to where you can still see the image slightly. Is it possible to change this.

The mouseover completely covers the image and it doesn’t appeal to me.

Hello,

I am checking a little preview on your website. When I click on blue variant of color scheme, only 1 button and minimal things in menu goes blue, all other things are still green (logo, slider content, green line on the left from purchase now button. Actually the point is that you cannot see how it looks like in any other color variant even if you have chance to choose different color. I tried in firefox and chrome.

Is this on my end or just a feature?

Hey :)

Its just the style selector, which is not how the theme will work when you buy it. The style selector has some CSS conflicts we need to fix and will. But it will not be like that when you buy it. The style selector is just a quick way to show users different colors or boxed mode or dark skin.

When you buy it, you can easily pick any color from the admin panel and any green elements you see will change to that color. The buttons in the slider are controlled in the slider settings.

Hi, thanks for your reply. It’s not so much that somebody would not believe that it does not work, but I am sure that it will be a good feedback if I tell you. When I need to buy a theme, I am looking for specific color. Before buying, I would like to see how it will looklike with this color. If it does not work, I would rather check those that works and decide from one of those which are nice.

I just expected more from million dollar theme :)

My apologies, I should of explained much further for you the items you asked about …

1. The logo – its an image and will not change with the style selector. 99% of themes are like this, most use an image for the logo and not simply text since most companies or users buying it have an image logo. Images do not change with a style selector that targets CSS

2. Slider Content – the slider content (things like the buttons and text in the slider) do not change with the style selctor because that is a 3rd party slider plugin that is controlled in the slider settings.

3. The green text you see on the home page, like in the body copy is simply colored from the WP visual editor, its user inserted content. Now I could make those links so they would be styled with the selector, but it has not come up before but I think that would be better.

So really, its not that is been neglected, its that those items do not change with the demo style selector.

Also please understand that we are constantly updating the theme with new features, new CSS, etc, so keeping up with the style selector kind of takes the back seat to our users. But dont worry, if there is something we missed, it will be fixed. I will check each element.

But the theme is color minimal, as most multi-purpsoe themes are. Wherever you see green, can be any color you wish. Check out our admin screenshots, you can re-style/color any element you see with zero CSS needed.

And in the link above that has the admin screenshots, I would advise to look at the ones titles “Styling” and “Shortcode Styling”. That will show you all the color options which allows you to change the color of each and every element.

I think something to note is that our live demo setup, does not use a lot of color, so it can be deceiving when you are changing the styles. For example, the black circle icons, we choose to keep them black on all our layouts, that is simply a design choice we made. So when you are clicking the “blue” color, it might seem that not much changes, but lots of things are not setup to. But users have full control over those, you can make the icon circles and icons any color you wish.

Again, thats just one example that I think might help explain that further. The green body copy that you see in the body text of the icon boxes, is another example. Those are just highlighted green for accents, and not setup as links. So those wont change with the selector, but users can set them up like that and they will change, or they can make them any other color they wish.

If there is a certain color you need to see, like blue, let me know and I will quickly setup a blue page for you to see what you can do.

Question: What is the default sidebar width? It appears a little too narrow for my likiing. Would it be possible to have a 250px or 300px sidebar? Thanks!

Yes you can change the width of the sidebar and content area. See the sidebar tab screenshot here, http://theme-fusion.com/avada/side-navigation/advanced-admin-panel/test/

Please note, you cant widen the entire site in those settings, it still has to stay to the 960 grid. But with a little css adjustments, you can also widen the entire site width.

But you can easily make the sidebar 250-300px, and make the content area smaller. And we do have an FAQ on our forum that shows you how to do the basic adjustment to get a wider overall site beyond 960

I just purchased another license for this theme and downloaded the latest version as i absolutely love it. That being said in the new version I am not seeing a place in the Portfolio Options to change Project Description Title, Project Details Title, Skills Title, and Categories Title. Can you please tell me where this moved in the new theme version. Thank you,

Thanks for the repeat purchases, I wish we could reward our suers someway with a reward system but Envato does not have one yet! But we can keep giving you guys awesome updates for free!

For the portfolio items, yes we had to move those out of theme options due to translation and multi-lingual sites. Users who need to use Avada in multiple languages, like with WPML, were not able to have more than one version since they were translated in theme options. So the only accepted method we could do, is keep the text translatable in the PHP file. You can still translate it, but would need to do it in the single-avada=portfolio.php file.

It was really the best option for everyone, and had to be done for multi0-lingual standards.

my website heavily uses gravity forms. I like your theme alot. Just curious to know how well it gels with gravity forms. There are few themes which have built in style for gravity forms. Is that necessary ?

If i am using Avada, is it possible to show my forms (textboxes, buttons) the way Avada theme style looks ?

Hello, I’ve got a pre-purchase question.

Is it possible to drop in a widget in the top area as opposed to straight text? For example, if I install WPML, can I have the language selector appear at the top instead of the contact info?

Btw, I know you can drop in HTML code in one of the blocks for Header #4 so can I use that or would I have to drop the code into the header.php file?

Yes you can select to put the language selector from WPML in the main menu, or in the top menu. And the top menu can be selected to be put on the left or right side of the top menu. With that being said, the top headers are not fully widgetized so you cant put any widget there, but we certainly have it worked out for WPML and also are doing it for Woocommerce in next release.

Yes go to the “background” tab in theme options, its the top most option, you will see a dropdown field to select boxed or wide.

Hey i dont know why but my website using avada is now opening only in the mobile version, even if i open in Firefox, Chrome, IE, Opera.

It was working normally till yesterday.

Have you activated any new plugins lately? If so please deactivate them to check. Did you make any customizations to the theme files? Can you reload the original themes files to see if it fixes it?

Actually i activated 2 plugins, Quform and Ninja Popus, any known bugs with these plugins? Actually i deactivated them and it still mobile on desktop.

About the theme costumizations i did nothing.

Can I simply use my ‘add from server’ plugin to upload my already hosted videos from my ftp server and place it in my Avada post?

Hi, I’m considering to buy this theme. One feature that I was looking for is the shop feature. I read in one of the comments that you’ll update this theme on the next version with Woo Commerce. If I buy this theme today, will I get a free upgrade for the next version (one with the woo commerce feature)? Or is there a way I could add that into the existing one easily?

I recently loaded the latest version on the website but I notice that it takes way too long to load, whichever medium I use – PC, iPad, iPhone, etc.

I am running the latest version of WP and have all of my active plugins up to date.

To diagnose the problem, I deactivated all plugins, but still the problem continues.

Can you please let me know if there’s anything else I need to do?

I LOVE the Avada theme but it’s running too slow and that’s a huge problem for me.

The newer version is even more optimized and runs very fast, check our demo to see which has a bunch of content and all features running.

If it was running smoothly, then can you recall what else changed? New content, new server, new plugins, code customizations? Or was it just the new update?

I just checked your site on google page speeds and it was fairly fast but there were two main issues that were reported:

Reduce server response time to under 200ms In our test, your server responded in 4.3 seconds. There are many factors that can slow down your server response time. Please read our recommendations to learn how you can monitor and measure where your server is spending the most time.

Optimize images Properly formatting and compressing images can save many bytes of data.

Some of your slider images could be a lot smaller, but they are not overly large. I would guess your server is having issues or inconsistent speeds.

Something else you can do is disable any slider plugin you are not using, do that on the extras tab in theme options. That will disable any extra scripts from running.

If the issue persists, please post this up on our support forum so we can take a look and check it further. Create a new topic with the above info, then post a second reply with your username/password and mark it as a “private” reply so only we will see those credentials and will be able to login and check the issue.
