#nav { margin-bottom: 5px; text-align:center; }
Change line 687:
#nav li.level0 { float:left; margin: 0; background: url(../images/menu_separator.png) no-repeat left center; padding-left: 14px; }
#nav li.level0 { margin: 0; background: url(../images/menu_separator.png) no-repeat left center; padding-left: 14px; display: inline-block; }

I hope that will help.

Hi, I have a little problem with this theme. When I show a product, the product’s image put over the quantity selection, and it only occurs in Chrome. You can watch it in the attached image.

I need help to resolve it

Hi, I believe the following will help then:

Change line 1246:
.add-to-cart button.button { float:left; margin: 5px 0 0 0; height: 42px; padding-right:25px; padding-left:155px; background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: center right; width: 100%; }
.add-to-cart button.button { float: left; margin: 5px 0 0 0; height: 42px; padding-right: 25px; padding-left: 110px; background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: center right; width: 100%; }

Please let me know if that works.

Thanks!!! All right!! ;-)

You are welcome.

I’m having problems with the theme in Firefox. Specifically, it seems like Firefox isn’t rendering the ShopSharkSymbols font correctly, even though it works in Chrome. If you look at the footer of [removed] in Firefox, you’ll see it shows 1, 2, 3 6 where it should have the Facebook, G+, Twitter and Pinterest logos. The ‘return to top of page’ icon also appears as a ‘G’ instead of the proper icon. It works just fine in Chrome, though, but not in Firefox or IE.

Thanks for your help!

Our own research has led us to discover using Firebug that Firefox is hanging while attempting to download the font files. Apparently it’s because you’re using the WOFF format, which has some known issues in Firefox. Here’s an interesting article about it:

We’re continuing to debug this on our end, but would appreciate any help you could provide.

Apparently it’s due to the fact that we’re hosting our font files on a CDN. Still trying to find a solid workaround, but Firefox and IE won’t load font files from a different origin, apparently.

The problem probably is due to CDN, check there. We test it on all kind of browsers and it works, you can also see that in the demo website. You can modify the CSS code, the place where are WOFF files are loaded and to modify the location with full domain name [the domain name should be the same as website domain name].

Please let us know if that works.

Hi, thank you for your comment. One of our developers will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hi, it seems like there is a problem with the AED currency in We will investigate that issue and will get back to you as soon as we have any information.

Hi, I have usedanother theme but now Iwant to change to your theme. But is it possible to have the ‘category’ block on left upper side? And how many products can be seen on the first front page meanwhile how many new products can ben seen? Because I want products seen at least 40 products as 4rows grid. Thank you!

Hi, thank you for your comment. One of our developers will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hi, in Caregory Settings if Anchor is set to no you will be able to see the categories. On the front page Avanti theme has no option to show products in 4 rows grid, but in slide only. If you want to use 4 rows grid you need to modify the CSS and PHP code and may be you will need a developer/freelancer services.

For some reason we appear to have two errors on the site when using the theme.

1) Search doesn’t work properly and wont find specific items, even if you use the exact name.

2) we can’t get new products to display, despite following the exact criteria in the manual.

This is a live shop so would appreciate a swift response.

1. Try to re-index all tables and check again.

2. If you want to see the products on a home page /New, Sale etc./ you should confirm that they are In Stock. Also if you want to see them as ‘New’ you should enter dates into General Product Information menu.

Please let us know if that works.

Tried all of those and still nothing works.

Hi, please send us an e-mail with your details, so we can check that out. Thank you

Hi Shopshark,

I have been using the theme for 6 months or so and love it. I see mentions of ‘updates’ all the time but I am wondering how we get them? Are they automatic or manual? If manual where/how/etc can I get the update.

I’m currently having issues with the category descriptions not expanding to fit the text, and the words are cut off. The other issue is I can’t find a way to turn off SKU on the product page, I do not have the option (which makes me think I have an old version of Avanti). Thanks!!

This is why I am asking about updates. When I look at your change log the last one was:

ver. 1.2.0

Three more free design variations included – Clean Fashion, Flowers, Sushi, Pizza Major layout fixes “Add to cart” interfering with badly built extensions fixed

And I definitely have this version. Have you made a newer version and just not updated the changelog? I don’t want to reinstall the theme if I don’t have to in case it break something. I downloaded the file and it looks like it’s titled version 1.2.3, is this a newer version than published on your page? If so can you update your changelog so I know what is actually changing?

Hi, thank you for your comment. One of our developers will get back to you as soon as possible.

Ye, the latest Avanti version is 1.2.3. There is a lot of changes between 1.2.0 and 1.2.3 so if you wish to have all of them we recommend to update it. We will update the changelog as well.

Hi I’m having a problem with OnePage checkout hanging at the postage section and not moving onto payment. I noticed you had a bugfix for this on you Milano theme. Is there one for Avanti? If not please could you advise how to fix it. Thank You

Hello,please could you send an email to and we will get back to you with the fix. I hope it will work also with your one page checkout so, please make a backup before to update.

thank you! sorted, you’re a legend!

Hi, purchased the theme in the summer and raised a query as to why the other homepage possibilities were not in the PSD’s and you sent me the additional PSD. We are now looking at the product pages, category pages etc however no PSDs are within the template purchased – even though you say PSDs are included. Please can you provide the PSD’s of other pages?

We will ask our designer to provide it to you.

Hi, I finally purchased your theme. but I have 404 error page whenever I click ‘SAVE CONFIG’ What should I d?

Finally! I could solved the problem.

‘Uploaded file has no extension’ What this means? I got this message whenever I upload sample Product CSV File.

A lot of times the reason for the unsuccessful import is the difference between the format of the CSV data in the file and the one that the default Magento import profile expects.

The real procedure is: 1-login to your admin panel and go to system > import/export > profiles.

2-Now click on the import all product

3-choose upload file and select your CSV file and press continue and edit .

4-After that click on the “Run Profile” and select the imported file .

5-finally click on the run profile in Popup simple but the main problem came when your CSV doesn’t match with the magento CSV format.

A simple system to match your CSV with Magento is:

Step 1 – Add a new product manually (It’s important that you fill out all fields that you know you are going to need for all the products you import.)

Step 2 – Export Your Products Go to System >> Import/Export >> Profiles. Now click on Export All Products then Run Profile. Click on the “Run Profile in Popup” button. Once the export is completed, go to your var/export directory on your Magento install and you will find the .csv file there for you to download.

Step 3 – Analyze The .CSV File Now if you look at your .csv export file you will see the field names that you need to match up. Now just start filling yours in and creating your csv file ready for import. This step is extremely important. Otherwise Magento cannot match what you are trying to import and the importing will fail. At a most basic level, here are the fields that I imported:

Step 4 – Import Your New .CSV File Now go to System >> Import/Export >> Profiles. Now click on Import All Products. Change “Type” under Data Format to CSV/Tab Separated. Now click on Upload File, and browse for your .csv file and click “Save and Continue Editing”. Now go to “Run Profile” and select your file from the dropdown menu. Click the button underneath to run the import.

Can you tell me when/if the avanti + milano templates will be 1.8 compatible?

Hello, Milano is already Magento 1.8 ready, if you need to upgrade Avanti, please send an email to and we will get back to you with the fix.

I was wondering where I can find the build in products that come with installing the theme? Thanks for the reply!

Hello, the products are not included inside the theme. The links inside the mega menu depends on your subcategories. The custom menu is a custom block.

Thanks for the reply guys, much appreciated. Managed to solve those issue’s quickly. The last thing however, I am wondering about is how to replicate the bolded Navigation Items inside the dropdown that enlist categories such as ‘shoes’ ‘evening shoes’ etc in the custom nav item?

Hello, the links are the subcategories, if you want to apply the same style as the custom block, you have to build a new css style and a class must be apply to the subcategories.

Purchased the theme and trying to figure out how to change the background color of the product rectangles in the ‘default’ version of the theme? Currently the product rectangle / box container is light grey (#EEEEEE) whereas my products have white backgrounds which makes the combination seem rather odd. Also same question for the actual rectangle frame. Are these modifiable through the front-end or do I need to dig into CSS files and if so, what should I be looking for? Thanks in advance

Hi, please follow the steps bellow:

1st Open

2nd Line n:18:

<a href="<?php echo $_item->getProductUrl() ?>" title="<?php echo $this->htmlEscape($_item->getName()) ?>" class="product-image"><img src="<?php echo $this->helper('catalog/image')->init($_item, 'thumbnail')->backgroundColor(237,237,237)->resize(228) ?>" width="228" height="228" alt="<?php echo $this->htmlEscape($_item->getName()) ?>" /></a>

To remove the background color replace the text above with this below:

<a href="<?php echo $_item->getProductUrl() ?>" title="<?php echo $this->htmlEscape($_item->getName()) ?>" class="product-image"><img src="<?php echo $this->helper('catalog/image')->init($_item, 'thumbnail')->resize(228) ?>" width="228" height="228" alt="<?php echo $this->htmlEscape($_item->getName()) ?>" /></a>

To change background color with some other just find the “backgroundColor(237,237,237)” and replace the RGB color with yours

Hmmm… We are talking about the Avanti responsive, not Milano? Looking at the file you suggested under the Avanti theme folder tree, it does not have the backgroundcolor stated in it? I believe it references CSS styles? So I went and looked at styles.css and believe I found the appropriate classes to play with. 1) Is styles.css the only place where this setting is at?2) if not, where else should I be looking at? 3) What is the right approach to not make future upgrades revert and/or be messy?

please excuse me, it is my mistake! Please follow the steps bellow:

.catalog-product-view .main .block-related { background: #eee; padding-top: 10px; }

Change “background: #eee;” with your color.

Example with white background:

.catalog-product-view .main .block-related { background: #FFF; padding-top: 10px; }

Do you guys have any more technical documentation on the theme? Also is it possible I can get a copy of the .psd files for the theme?

Is it possible to display a different category in the home page sliders? Currently the only choices are “new” and “sale” items. Is it possible to have a “best-sellers” category displayed in the product slider on the home page?

Where can I change the gray background of the sliders?

What is the best way to make CSS changes to the theme so they won’t be overwritten when you release the new update that is compatible with Magento 1.8?

Also, I am having an issue with the code for the custom menu. On a mobile view, it only shows 2 items in the menu instead of 4. For some reason it displays the additional categories as sub-menus of the first item.

Where can I adjust the product names in the mosaic view? They run into the images on our category pages and make the product names unreadable.

Where can I make adjustments to the slider text and links? In mobile views, the text is unpredictable shifting over the images making the text unreadable.

How can I make the category descriptions box in mosaic view expand to fit the text? It just cuts off the text, although it is suppose to be responsive. Is there a character limit for these descriptions?

Where can I control the styling for the buttons on the cart page?

How can I add Payment Logos to the checkout “payment information” section? Where do I change the styling of these buttons?

Is it possible to make the social sharing on the product pages bigger? They are very small.

Where can I change the layout of the wishlist and compare pages?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as we are already into the holiday shopping season.

Thanks In Advance!

Hi, thank you for your comment. We will take a look at your points and will get back to you as soon as possible.

Please find the answers of your questions bellow:

1. The options available at the admin panel includes this 2 sliders only. There is a way to add new slider, but it is not available as an option and you need to kame it by yourself, or consult a developer/freelance who can assist with that.

2. Open

Around line 1272

.catalog-product-view .main .block-related { background: #eee; padding-top: 10px; }

Change “background: #eee;” with your color.

Example with white background:

.catalog-product-view .main .block-related { background: #FFF; padding-top: 10px; }

3. If you want to keep the changes you make at the CSS the best thing is to overwritten the the changes to a separate css file, this is how you can be sure that the changes you have made will be kept.

4. Have you changed the font? Because if you use a font which is bigger that the one by default, that will reflect to the mobile view.

5. Try with System -> Configuration -> Theme Options -> Category Page Options -> Grid View Mode -> Set to Mosaic.

6. Please see N-5 above. Also check the font as well.

7. What exactly would you like to do?

8. Unfortunately this option is not included, it must be done by yourself or you can contact developer/freelancer who can assist.

9. This is not available as an option, you can make it by yourself or consult a developer/freelance whi can assist. Please have in mind the risk if you make them too big, this may affect the other content /dislocation/.

10. Wishlist and Compare files are here:

Thank you for your patience.
