Hey there,

I’m loving the theme – it’s doing everything I need it to, with one exception. The contact form is not e-mailing the desired account. I’m not sure exactly where the test e-mails have gone, but they aren’t showing up in MY inbox. What might be the problem here?

Regards

2winFactor

Hi Keisterbun,

Thanks for purchasing my theme! I really appreciate it!

Can you try what’s suggested on the knowledgebase article here?

Where is a basic how-to of how to set up the front page portfolio with custom categories? I’ve looked all over the forum but cannot locate it!!!

Any help would be appreciated!!

Hi DidiCoco,

Thanks for purchasing my theme! I really appreciate it!

You mean you want to exclude specific categories from the homepage? You can do that by following the instructions here:

Hi, I have a pre-sale question.

Can we remove the subnav “All, Branding, Illustration, etc…” so that we only have white space above thumbnails?

I was also wondering what settings there are? Or how customizable is it?

Thanks

2winFactor

Hi Mike,

Yes! Absolutely. I’d be happy to assist you with removing the subnav from the homepage.

Do you have any specific questions about the settings? You can see some admin screenshots here:

Hi 2winFactor,

A pre-buyer’s question. Is it possible to change the filter menu of the portfolio to the standard button-style that comes with the theme. And if so, is it possible to have the button stay on the rollover appearance when active?

Love how the theme works by the way.

cheers, Koen

2winFactor

Hi Koenvdschoot,

Thanks so much for your interest! I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Sure, you can do that with a little custom css in the Theme Options panel. I’d be happy to help you change the filters to match the button style.

You can also make the portfolio 4 columns instead of 5 with some custom css as well. I’m happy to help with this too.

With both of these customizations, you’ll only need to copy and paste some code I can give you into the custom css box. No theme edits required.

Let me know if you have any other questions,

Andre

Hey,

Considering buying your theme. One question:

I like your theme switcher bar implementation – can you tell me if that is something you have created from scratch or is it based upon free/open source code or maybe an Envato plugin?

Thanks

2winFactor

Hi FlawlessWeb,

The item switcher is called “switcheroo”, open source and available here:

https://github.com/OriginalEXE/Switcheroo

Let me know if you have any other questions,

Andre

Much appreciated.

Is the desktop, tablet and smartphone view icons/buttons included as a standard option in Switcheroo or was it something you put together yourself?.

2winFactor

Included as standard option. Check out this demo link on the github page – it should show you the standard options provided by the code.

Hi, this is a great theme!

I have a questión:

Is possible to limit access to certain content portfolio with a password? Thanks!

2winFactor

Hi Albertopequeno,

Thanks so much for your interest! I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have.

You can password protect portfolio content – however, the default functionality is that only the text content is password protected (the images will still show). If you want to password protect the images, you’ll need to make some modifications to the theme.

Let me know if you have any other questions,

Hi!

I just stumbled over this theme and I am very happy with how it looks. Right what I need for a client. However, I need to translate the theme. I read it is not WPML ready yet. Can you advise what is the best way to go ahead to translate it fully into another language? Also strings like ‘type to search and hit enter’ etc.

Is there a feasible way to quickly translate these few strings?

Looking forward your answer and hope I can get this theme! Cheers

2winFactor

Hi Iamserge,

The theme is fully translatable – you can translate it into any language that you like. However, it’s not yet compatible with WPML (WPML allows you to add multiple languages).

Here’s some basic instructions on how to translate the theme:

Hello,

I am having issues with my images on my portfolios, either the images do not load and rotate or they do load and are all laid out in order. Not in the slider like it is supposed to do.

Example here: http://themeforest.net/item/aware-responsive-wordpress-portfolio-theme/1049029/comments

Thank you.

2winFactor

Hi amschabert,

Can you double check to make sure your images meet the minimum dimensions? They should be at least 480px wide and tall. It looks like a few are too short.

I’m not seeing any issues with them not loading. Are you still having the loading/ rotating issue?

Andre

Default-user

Hi Andre,

Thanks for the quick response. The images uploaded are 800×1200. How do I change the size on the site because the rotator seems to make them smaller?

Yes I am still having the same issues. Is there an email I can use to send you screen shots?

Thanks!

2winFactor

Ah, I think I know what’s going on.

It looks like your wordpress install isn’t creating thumbnails properly. This can be caused by a few things:

1) You may need to install and run the “regenerate thumbnails” plugin to generate your thumbnails to the correct size. If your thumbnails were added before the theme was activated, they wouldn’t have been sized correctly.

2) Your uploads folder needs 777 (read, write, execute) permissions for wordpress to make thumbnails for you. Double check your uploads folder in your wordpress install to make sure it has the proper permissions.

3) Your php version needs “GD” to create thumbnails (and is a wordpress requirement). Double check to make sure that your hosting provider has the latest version of php with “GD”.

After you check these things, you’ll need to install and run the regenerate thumbnails plugin (again) to regenerate your thumbnails to the correct sizes.

Hi there. Great theme. I’m looking for a theme that could work for a movies festival. So these are the changes that I need to apply on this template:
  • HP: I read in the comments here, and found out that we can have one slider instead of the portfolio thumbnails. Now, can I have a slider that is not related to the projects? A slider that shows images of the latest news for example?
  • Projects: I want to have the movies here instead of projects. Is it possible to have a video in the project detail page, instead of images?
  • Thx! Thanks in advance!
2winFactor

Hi Myrouk,

Thanks so much for your interest! I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have.

For your homepage question, you’ll need to use a plugin or something to add a slider on your homepage not related to the projects. If you have a slider that can be placed via a shortcode, then you can add the shortcode to your homepage content and it will display there.

Yes, you can use movies instead of images. Here’s an example:

In my portfolio page, only the first 5 of my projects are showing and I’m not seeing page 2, 3, etc., like on your page. How can I set that up?

2winFactor

Hi VMostacho,

Thanks for purchasing my theme! I really appreciate it!

Do you have a live version link of your site? Did you set up your number of posts per page under Settings > Reading?

I checked your support forum and I didn’t find the solution I was looking for. Here is the link to my portfolio section of my website:

http://vennmostacho.com/the-folio/

I’d like it to be like your “featured projects” in your demo.

http://themewich.com/aware/?page_id=139

At the bottom of the page, there is a “page1,2,3 next” option.

2winFactor

Hi vmostacho,

It looks like it’s a new bug in the theme that crept in a recent WordPress update. I’m going to need to update the theme to fix it. However, you can fix the issue by following the steps outlined here on the support forum:

Hi! I was helping someone with this theme some time ago, and i really like it! so maybe i’ll buy it, but what i couldn’t do (and what i need for the website) was change the logo position from left to the center and put the menú below this. It is possible modifng style.css and how? I really hope can be done cheers!

2winFactor

Hi Zanta1,

Thanks so much for your interest! I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have.

You can do this by adding some custom css to your custom css box in Theme Options > Customize and making some small modifications to the theme. There’s a support topic with instructions on how to do that, but you’d need to make the changes yourself.

Let me know if you have any other questions,

Andre

DO NOT BUY THIS THEME ! . Its full of bugs and it has a lot of poor coding. Ajax is used in the wrong way (../../../../wp-load.php instead of an ajax function).

It also uses the old image uploader with wrong CSS in it.

It doesn't work with WPML and its expensive aswell !
2winFactor

Hi Knipoogmedia,

Thanks for your comments. We’re working on WPML compatibility as well as a rework of the ajax script. I’m hoping to update the theme in the next couple weeks. Was there anything in the mean time that I can help you with?

Andre

2winFactor

Hi Knipoogmedia,

I just wanted to let you know personally – I’ve just released an update to the theme and completely recoded the ajax functionality so wp-load.php isn’t used anymore. This should also help with WPML compatibility, but let me know if you have issues getting WPML working with the theme.

KMS36 Purchased

Hi there. THIS THEME IS AMAZING. I’ve been using this theme for years, but noticed that there is now a long line that has appeared below the main page title, making a double thick line in spots. This does not happen on the other pages – the other pages have remained as they should featuring two separate gray lines at the top of the page content and the sidebar/widget content. Any ideas on how to remedy this? Thanks!

Hi Andre,

I’m having some issues with this theme and was wondering if you could help me out? For some reason none of the menu links are working. There’s no response when I click on them. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

2winFactor

Hi Ausigep,

Thanks for purchasing my theme! I really appreciate it!

Sounds like there could be a javascript conflict happening on your site. Can you try deactivating all plugins momentarily to rule out a plugin conflict? Also, be sure you’ve updated the theme to the latest version:

Hello, I just purchased this theme yesterday and it is running very very slow. Images stall when I try to upload them to the media area or portfolio area, the URL take about 30sec to 1 min to load and all in all everything is running really slow. I called my hosting provider and they said it was because of the theme and without it everything runs fine. Is there a fix for this?

2winFactor

Hi Edalshmutt,

Hi, I’m a graphic designer and I would buy your Aware theme for WP. However, I do not have knowledge of coding. In this sense, could you answer the next doubts?

1. Is it easy to install the demo data of your theme?

2. To install the demo data I have to access to my MySQL DB or the whole process can be done easily by the dashboard back office theme?

Thank you for your attention and answer. David

2winFactor

Hi David,

Thanks so much for your interest! I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have.

There are two different files included to help you load demo data into the theme. The first is an xml file, which you can load to your site from your dashboard under Tools > Import. This is the easier file to use, however, it doesn’t contain any widget or image information (WordPress restriction) so you’d still need to follow the documentation to set up the menu, pages and add your images. Nearly all the demo content will be loaded however.

The other file is a sql file which will load everything, but is more complicated to load due to the fact that you have to use phpMyAdmin to import the file. I wouldn’t suggest this route if your not comfortable with phpMyAdmin.

I would definitely suggest you use the xml file due to ease of use, but also to familiarize yourself with the theme’s widgets and setup as well.

Let me know if you have any other questions,

Andre

Thank you for your kind answer. David

2winFactor

You’re welcome! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi. pre-purchase question… I read you were working on make the theme WPML compatible. Is it ready? I’m really interest on the theme but need to make it multilingual. cheers!

2winFactor

Hi Ximenachapero,

Still working on this, no ETA as of yet. Sorry!

Andre

Oh! ok. Have you test any other multilingual plugin? Qtranslate?

2winFactor

No other plugins have been tested for multi-lingual functionality. Hopefully I’ll have something soon.
