I still have not had a reply or answer to my question above? I have bought this theme and the featured part of the home page is not working??? Infact there is no feature at all on the home page just posts. Can some one advise me what to do, or sort it out for me?

Yes I can. But I would also like to know how to do it myself if you could give me instructions?

Like your theme alot and we’re looking for a good wordpress theme that fits how our current design work, but small questions Reading some of the comments here I’m seeing some OS related things like directory permissions. We’re running on IIS on a Windows server, will it still work or is it Linux only thing? The removal of excess spacing (like before the menu, between the menu and content etc), that’s easy CSS things that I, as a “normal HTML /CSS coder” would be able to solve, right? How about the width and the size of the right column where the widgets goes, is that changeable too or would that screw up the design too much?

Once again, I really like the design!

I bought the theme now and meditatively ran into trouble using the featured post on a custom category. On the built in “News” category it works fine, but not on any custom category. I’ve created new ones and they don’t load, only a white wide square where they should be? Any ideas? Wouldn’t it be better to have a category ID there instead of of category name?

Another thing ; the dropdown menu in the main horizontal menu is fixed at 250px width, can’t find where to change that. With a long page title the text goes beyond the background and out of the “dropdown”-box!

Regarding first issue: It seems the “featured news” must amount to 4 or more even though I’ve only selected to show 3 (“Banner Option 3”), which doesn’t really make sense, if I only have 3 I get blank white square, if I have 4 or more it lists the most recent 3? So that’s not an issue anymore.

Regarding the second issue: Thank to the addon “Page Links To” I was able to work around this as well, although a CSS section to control the width of the square in submenu-level would be better so I don’t have to create duplicate pages for every page with a long name!

But still .. looks damn good!

Is there a way to show only the most recent post on the home page and hide all the others?

The theme won’t allow me to remove the ‘Lorem Epsum’ from the footer. See example on youth.sheldonneil.com

In reply to Gabrielpr: Edit the file “footer.php”, row 49. First it’s the site name, then the plain text with “All rights reserved. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet nullam blandit.”, just edit that to remove it.

Suggestion: I only want the “read more” icon to show up if there are actually anything more to read than the excerpt that is already shown. I see where the explode of the text happens and the [...], and I see where the “read more” sign is posted, I just can’t get the “if [...] doesn’t exist, don’t show “read more” button” but I just can’t get it to work. And it kinda makes sense that it shouldn’t be there if everything has been shown in the post, right?

Regarding my request with the “read more”-sign : I added a check to see if get_the_excerpt contained [...] in the existing IF excerpt flag is set-statement which quickly solved that Only problem is when you updated your theme I’m gonna have a helluvatime checking all the customizations I’ve made

Two more suggestions to get the theme working “as we want it to” without me having to change too much 1) Custom featured news excerpt. As it is the first 50 or so characters are listed as excerpts for the featured news item, how about having a custom text field for that excerpt? And it should have a ”...” at the end of the excerpt instead of just interupting the text in the middle of a word. 2) Not sure if this falls under the theme improvement or wordpress improvement, but the ability to control where it breaks the excerpt on the main news page. Inserting some shortcode into the post that will say “break here”, so instead of breaking after X amount of characters, break where it detects something like “[X]”

I am having trouble with our featured post page, the title is half cut off- can you please tell me what to do?

also on some of my pages there a big white boxes with nothing in them, I have played around with templates, and tried deleting all photos but they are still there- can you please advise on how I can fix this?
