Bamboo — Wordpress Theme

I am still trying to figure out how to get the Services page to work properly. I have:

1. Created a category called 'Services'
2. Created 6 posts and set the category to 'Services' on each of them
3. Entered info in the posts
4. Set the excerpt text of the posts
5. Set the custom field to 'serv' with the link of the image
6. Set the category ID of the 'Sevices' in the options, and triple checked to make sure I set the right ID

I have followed the directions exactly, no Services and no Portfolio work for me. I have the front page working correctly with the slider images and the columns below, but not the services or portfolio page.

Someone please let me know if I did something wrong. This theme is badly in need of an update to add an easier management page to set its functions.

I am getting really tired of this author disappearing off the face of the earth and not answering emails or posts on this page for days and weeks on end.

This is not the type of service people expect when purchasing a theme. Next time I will be more careful and read the past history of complaints before purchasing a theme.

My recommendation = stay away from this author, he does not care about the people who purchase his theme at all and constantly has excuses as to why he has been missing for a week or two. This theme badly needs an update to better incorporate some of the features in the admin page. It should not be so difficult to setup such a simple theme.

I am trying to make the easy slider work… i also want it to display a large image like the nivo and coin…

how do i do this? you had another poster ask for this and i did not see a response…

I have a quick question: In the slider I need to use 1 banner image like the one you use in the nivo or coin sliders, but i want it to slide side to side like the effect you use in the easy slider. How is this done?

i got the slider content to show up, but they all display at once…and the arrows don’t show up…any thoughts?

The cool features in this theme ( ie. slider, 3 columns, services, and portfolio pages) are all feed by blog post NOT other pages. I used the “Page Links To” plugin to link the blog post to the pages that I want guest to go to when the clicked on the slider or columns.

Hope that helps I noticed a couple people have ask about it.

Can you please tell me how to replace the Contra font with other font, like Myriad? Not all computers have Myriad installed, so how can I make it like what you did with Contra?

Another thing, how do I make the pictures I used as sliders clickable and linked to pages (I use Nivo slider). Right now, all my slides are just pictures and not linked to the pages I want:

Ooops, the change of code in Simple slider to make images clickable is not the same for Nivo slider. How do I do that with Nivo?

i have one (hopefully simple) question: Right now i have 16 items in the slider and want to extend the number. Could you point me in the direction where to change the number of the files being displayed? Thank you very much!

i just found the file and it works flawlessly. So no response to my previous question required. For everyone else who wants to achive this: I am using the easy slider and you have to go to home.php in the editor and look for this code id=”slider”>

As you can see there is ‘showposts={number of post you’d like to have shown}’. Change it to the appropriate number (in my case 30) and it works. Thanks.

Can someone help me setup the three areas under the slider on the mainpage, I don’t want posts sitting there, I would just like to have each link to a page?

Hi again, Just wondering if anyone has managed to sort out the three sectioned area under the slider, is this a widget area? I need to add images and a link to pages in my site.

Can someone help me with this, I can’t use the template without this function, I have been using FOCUS template and it has a similar design but the area below the slider is filled via a HOME page.

The functions appear to be very limited with this template along with a virtually useless management page and next to no support…. I think I would like a refund

Has anyone had an issue with the portfolio page. I seem to be the only one from reading past posts. I have emailed the developer and I am waiting for a response.

Like other themes i have used, usually there is a stock “portfolio” dropdown page selector to make my page a “portfolio” page like the one in the sample he has on here.

If anyone has any clues that would be great, as that’s all thats holding me up from delivering this to my client.

Okay does the creator of this theme not respond. I posted here 4 days ago. on the same day i also emailed him directly. Shouldn’t take that long to respond when there is an issue with your theme?

Please get back to me ASAP as i have to deliver the site to a client, but your theme doesn’t do what it says it does.

As i posted above, the portfolio page is not set up like your demo is.

Need a response today.

Hi Ivanov, bamboo is great and has been a very easy theme to use, i just have a couple of things that i hope you can help me with. The services are cut at a certain height, which is nice for looks but not for reading as they just stop in the middle of a sentence, is there anyway that i can add a “read more” button at the bottom. I have tried but it ends up staying there when you go to the full page. Also i am unable to reorder the services page. I have home – about – contact – services. as the first 3 pages are static they can be reordered but i cant work out the services.

Hi Alex, I am having problems. Bit of a newbie here. I uploaded the theme to my domain and there is a problem. It seems like not all of the files uploaded as all I see is the background – no sliders – no pictures. I tried to get help from my hosting company (my soon to be EX hosting company) and they said they can’t help me at all. Can you? Lisa

I’m just starting to set up the theme now and I’m wondering if it’s possible to have a page feed to the homepage rather than a post? Right now it is set up for a post/category to automatically link to the homepage which I do not want. If the category ID is removed then there is an error on the HP. Can this be resolved easily? I would like the blog and all other content to run independently from the HP.

Please advise.
