Nice theme!

On the portfolio page, clicking on the thumbnail displays the image larger, can it direct to the page instead.. is there an option for that?

ThemeBlvd

Yup! That’s actually a setting on the Theme Options page. You simply select if you want the thumbnail to link to the lightbox popup (enlarged image) or to the blog post.

Check out a screen shot of the Theme Options page that comes with Barely Corporate… magnify the image and scroll down to the section labeled “Portfolio Page Options”.

Great Theme, just bought but one problem:

I always get:

Warning: getimagesize() [function.getimagesize.php]: URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration in /home/abcd/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/barely-corporate/template_blog.php on line 63 Warning: getimagesize(http://www.abcd.ch/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/xbmc_logo.jpg) [function.getimagesize.php]: failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found in /home/abcd/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/barely-corporate/template_blog.php on line 63

Any idea where the problem is? All other themes with automatic resizing are working quite well.

Thanks!

ThemeBlvd

I’m glad you got that to work on your server… the use of the getimagesize() function actually isn’t needed for the image resizing. It’s there for error checking on the images to make things easier for you.

As regards to displaying dynamic images, Barely Corporate is setup like this:

1. Did the user input an image URL ?
-If not display the “no image” image.

2. If the user inputted an image URL , does that image exist?
-If not, display the “broken link” image.

3. If the image was entered in and exists, now crop it, re-size it and display it.

Now the use of getimagesize() function is actually a work around to make step 2 happen. To determine if the image exists, it checks the size of the image, and if it’s height/width are greater than zero, it exists.

I solved the problem. Had to allow fopen in server configuration. Nevertheless there is still a strange error messages in configuration as

Theme Options / Header / Exclude pages from main menu Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/abcds/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/barely-corporate/framework/theme_options/options.php on line 616
ThemeBlvd

Can you give me some quick info about your server configuration?

And where are you seeing this error message? Actually on your theme options page?

ThemeBlvd

The issue you’re referring to on the theme options page has been fixed. The updated theme has already been submitted.

Hi and congratulations on such a great looking theme.

Will the theme degrade well if someone is using a browser with no java?

ThemeBlvd

Yeah. Javascript isn’t really used to position or hide anything in this theme. That’s all done with CSS . Javascript is really only adding animation to things. So for the most part, turning off javascript just halts all of the animation happening (ie drop down panel at the top won’t slide down, slideshow on homepage won’t rotate, etc.) while keeping the basic structure of everything the same.

Hi. A couple of things:

1) I am getting the following message also:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/dgeorge1/public_html/accuclaim.org/wp-content/themes/barely-corporate/framework/theme_options/meta_blog_options.php on line 62

2) I just cannot get an image to show on my hompage’s slideshow. Anyone else having this problem? I’ve bought about 6 or 7 themes and have never had a problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Would you have time to look at my wordpress account? I can email my credentials to you. Let me know how you would like me to get that info to you.

Sure. You can go to my profile page and send me a private message through there.

For anyone wondering what happened with dgeorge1961’s issues…

All of is errors he mentioned have been fixed.

And as far as his homepage sideshow images not showing up, it had to to do with his web hosting.

If anyone else is using HostGator web hosting and having issues with the homepage slideshow, you need to call tech support and ask them to whitelist the timthumb.php file located in your theme folder.

Go to my profile page and send me a private message if you need any more information.

Permissions set as instructed. Server running PHP V 5 .1.30

ThemeBlvd

I’m really stumped why the images aren’t showing up for you. I’m just using the timthumb plugin (which automatically resizes and crops your images):

http://www.darrenhoyt.com/2008/04/02/timthumb-php-script-released/

I’m thinking about adding an option to the Theme Options page that gives you the choice to disable image cropping all together for cases like this.

As far as all of the other error messages you referred to, I think I have all of them fixed. I’m going upload the updated theme. I’ll post here when the update gets through the queue and is published.

You should let me know if those error messages go away for you or not…

Hello

Great theme so far.. I would prefer to feature pages rather than posts on the front page. Can this be switched?

I can probably work with general guidence if you point me in the right direction.

Thanks Laura

ThemeBlvd

Are you talking about where the slideshow is?

Yes!

ThemeBlvd

I can’t think of way to do that because with Wordpress there’s no way to loop through pages and get each page’s info in the way you can with posts.

But what i am thinking about doing is creating a place on your theme options page where you can select if you want it to show featured blog posts (by default) or change it to a block of HTML code you can put in. This way, at least you won’t HAVE to create blog posts if you dont want to have them there.

I might be way off track, but there are plugins like http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/page2cat/ that let you pull in pages via category, I’ve managed to mix post and pages this way.

ThemeBlvd

Cool. I’ll look into how they do that.

Hi. FYI …...all of my issues have been resolved. Within an hour THEMEBLVD had done the research and given me the information I needed to get my issue resolved.

Also, and this is strictly unbiased, this is one of the better BUSINESS themes I have bought. THEMEBLVD is an American author and I am an American small biz owner. The USA based authors seem to understand what USA biz owners are trying to achieve. Biz themes from authors from locations outside of the USA advertise biz themes but are simply marketing cleverly designed blogs.

Thanks for everything THEMEBLVD .

What fonts are used in the theme? I need to modify a logo, and there are no fonts included with PSD file.

Thank you.

ThemeBlvd

Sorry. The fonts aren’t mine to distribute :-) But you can download them yourself.

In the main logo, the font for the word “Barely” is: Absolut Pro Medium condensed. And the font for the word “Corporate” is: Cicle

Theme Options / Header / Exclude pages from main menu Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/abcds/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/barely-corporate/framework/theme_options/options.php on line 616

is still not fixed in the latest files I downloaded today.

Please help. Thanks.

The update going through the queue now should solve that. But don’t worry, this is just a warning. So, you should still be able to get all the functionality in setting up your website.

Thank you so much for this awesome theme!

I too was getting the “Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/abcds/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/barely-corporate/framework/theme_options/options.php on line 616” until I actually checked the box for a page to be excluded. Upon returning to the theme options page, the error message had disappeared.

One issue I am having however – whenever I select a different style from the theme options page, it never seems to change (it stays on the default blue color even though “style 12” is selected).

Any help would be great.

Thanks again! -Mike

It worked and it was beautiful! Thank you.

Last help: You use Cufon, but the blog is in Portuguese. The accents, exemple, coração, eleição vitória, do not appear …

ThemeBlvd

The easiest solution would just be to disable cufon. It’s really easy.

In your theme folder, open up layout/js/custom.js and FIND :

//Cufon text
Cufon.replace('h2, h3');

And comment it out like this:

//Cufon text
//Cufon.replace('h2, h3');

Is there any way to get a full .psd file of the design? I was disappointed to find that the package only has the .psd files in bits and pieces. This makes it really difficult to do mock ups for customers. Thanks.

ThemeBlvd

The PSD ’s are setup for easy customization of the template. They are sectioned off in a format ready for you to easily customize their specific corresponding images.

However, I do have a full PSD file. I didn’t really feel it was organized enough to include in the theme package. Also, things (as usual) got changed in the process from going PSD > HTML > Wordpress.

But you’re definitely welcome to it. Send me a message through my profile page, and I’d be glad to send it to you.

Thank you for sending me the complete .psd file so quickly! I really appreciate it and will definitely look for your templates in the future.
