Thank you namplus! :)

Hey I have a question and hopefully its easy to fix. I dont know if I changed my setting but on the top left of my page www.justinstoys.com, when I hover over category, the background is black and the images show. I dont want any images to show and I want it to be just like your demo. How do I change that?

Thanks

theAlThemist

Hello Justin,

you would only need to change the menu type in the theme control module. :)

you’re awesome!

Ok, another question, Is there a way you can let a registered user email their wishlist to the siteowner or make it publicly available to view(I am trying to use the for gift registrys)

theAlThemist

Not as a native OpenCart function. Probably you could check opencart.com extensions store and see if there is a third party extension like this.

Hi Koev,

http://bigonetheme.eu/index.php?route=product/category&path=34

In this page you see the 5 subcategories listed horizontally in the scroller, right?

Is it possible to display just blocks with the title/image of the subcats, without the scroller? I got 5 categories with each like 60 subcategories and I don’t want that scroller thing.

Thanks

theAlThemist

yes, it is possible, but some modifications would be required to the category.tpl file and CSS. You would need to remove the JS truning the subcategory list to carousel and also adjust the CSS for the subcategories container.

THEME UPDATE

Fixed wrong savings calculation when comma is used for price delimiter.

Thanks Koev, I download again is theme updated?

theAlThemist

Hello namplus,

yes, the updated files are now available for download.

Hi,

I’ll like to know, what if I have more than 8 categories, will the ribbon design accommodate more than 8 categories?

I also assume there’s no way to change that part of design?

Thank you.

Thanks Koev for being receptive to my comments. :)

I think you misread my phrase Top menu categories. I actually do not refer to your Side menu categories in this theme.

What I was referring to was the common approach where the Categories are at the top, which sort of have some limitations in the number of Categories that are able to show on the top menu.

However in your theme, there is a limitation in the sense that when the subcategories get long, have to scroll down to see the rest of the subcategories… So I need to consider this point as well..

One Improvement to the Admin Theme Options is to add the ability to change the colour of the Categories ribbon (Main menu if I’m not wrong) and change the shape of the ribbon – both the logo and the Menu (by allowing us to add in our own image for the shape).

For other improvements, maybe I should just private message you.. as this involves another dev’s demo. :).

I had preferred the other theme’s options in the Admin, but their top menu navigation is not very sleek and the way they show the Products on the main page that needs hovering to get the Add to cart and sometimes even price to show, is a disadvantage to me (too many effects)... Even yours also need hovering.

What if the customer is using Mobile phone / tablet to surf, hovering to show the Add to Cart or even price will be a disadvantage. I still just prefer the Add to cart to show up without needing to hover.

Also I see in their product page, there is an additional tab—Specifications… maybe can use it as a point to improve on? Or is that a standard OC feature? LOL

Yea I can wait till next week….

Thank you.

Hello Faustine,

The ability to choose between different options for the the ribbon color and style is one of the improvements which I would definitely add in the next update. However, I am not sure it would be good to give the user possibility to add their own images because everything is very sensitive in this menu and even 1px difference could cause a disaster (broken layout etc.).

However, this theme is using a special layout and adding the ability to use standard horizontal category menu is not an option at all. That would be an instant fail and would make the whole design concept behind this theme pointless.

Considering what you say, may be my next theme would be more suitable for your needs than the BigOne. However, I am afraid it’s also full with visual effects even if it comes with 10 predefined skins and one of them is really minimal, the add to cart button is not visible without hovering the product. The theme would have again 2 types of menu to choose from (classic drop-down and mega menu), two types of image preview on product details page (QloudZoom AND/OR the default colorbox), huge number of custom modules and features etc. Overall – the customization possibilities of the theme would be huge – it’s definitely the best I have ever done. (i hope I don’t sound too immodest, but may be even the best OC theme ever made). :)

Feel free to send me an e-mail if you need to discuss more details and I could even show you the theme. At least to have an idea would it work for your project or it would be better to keep searching for suitable one. :)

Hi Koev,

If I change name of folder “BigOne” in “theme” folder, what do I need change other files?

Thanks!

theAlThemist

I wouldn’t recommend you to do that! Some modules and functions would stop working. Unfortunately I had to do this because many of my items are copied and part of them stolen to be used in other themeforest or opencart.com items for sale. You are free to remove any credits that would lead to me as an author, but changing the folder name is not recommended at this stage. Because of the same reason I made some of the unique features built-in and not like modules that could be used with another theme. Each time I release a cool new feature it’s copied and sold by other people. If you’re working on a client’s project, they would probably never see that folder name and even if they see it, they would never know what that name is. I am really sorry if this is not good enough for you.

I hope you understand.

Thanks Koev,

I understand your thinking and I respect that. I don’t work on any client’s project, I only use this theme in my online business and I’m not a designer or webmaster. I’m just curious! :D

Curiosity moves the world. ;)

Hi Koev. I have one latest products module in the right column. Is it possible to add countdowns to the right column? Could you explain how. stylesheet.css?

theAlThemist

Hello sleepmansel,

I am afraid it’s not possible with the current theme structure. There is just not enough room for the countdown there.

Hello, I have a problem on www.rebelbrain.com. My product and product photos are not like in the demo version of the theme…. the pic is smaller ( what is the size of a default pic to look good on the theme? ) and the price is near the picture not at he botom near add to cart. Thanks.

theAlThemist

Hello joycraft,

did checked the theme documentation? It’s there for purpose. ;) You would need to set the image settings according to the instruction in the theme documentation – there are even screenshots of the settings. :)

I extended width of the right column until 220 px, so it’s more then enough for the countdown because it has only 200px. So don’t worry about dimensions.

theAlThemist

What I said was that it wasn’t meant to have ht ecountdown here and even if you extend the width it wouldn’t be easy fix to add it. You could just copy the entire countdown code from the block for the content_top and content_bottom positions, but you would need to rewrite the whole structure and then make a new CSS for the new instance. Also you would need to give the countdown a new unique ID and be careful not to have two instances of tho module on a single page.

Looking to buy this one, but some questions: - The section titles occupy a little too much screen estate. Would it be too difficult to spread the products on three columns and bring the section information at the beginning of the section? - is it possible to use ANY google font or are they predefined in the theme? best regards.

theAlThemist

Hello rlucian,

It’s not only possible, but it works exactly like this for screen resolutions under 1200px width. :) You could easily make it like this by default with simple CSS adjustments.
As for the fonts – there are 190 fonts to choose from, predefined in the theme control panel. If you need to use a specific font which is not included, I could give you instructions on how to do it.

Hi Koev, love this, is it possible for the menu items on the left display the list of brands instead of categories thanks

theAlThemist

Hello lalaine,

it’s not impossible, but serious modification would be required.

does it work with 1.5.4.1? :)

theAlThemist

Hello thedarkroom,

it ONLY works with 1.5.4.1 :)

Hi Koev, I like the theme and bought, next time would you please make theme that will not override the core file, its just annoying to override the core file.

now i am not using ur theme, maybe later will! :)

theAlThemist

Hello nazmuljibs,

unfortunately, the OpenCart system doesn’t allow making such customizations without changing core files.

Thank you for your purchase, but I’ll keep making themes which override core files. :)

Thanks again! :)

Great theme but having huge problems with adding purchases to cart, anyone else with the same problem? Koev thanks for helping me tirelessly but my “add to cart” button still doesn’t work  www.tekno-gecko.com

Hello Paulo,

I really don’t know what you changed, but it looks like there are some conflicts in your store because not only the add toc art but also wishlist and compare buttons doesn’t work. Do you have any vqmod installed lately? Or did you made any other changes? May be you left some tag opened or added a poorly writen JS modules that conflicts the original code.
