Please name your menu “navigation”. This is the menu you create from Wordpress Admin ->Appearances ->Menus

You need to create a page with template “Index Page with Slider”.

Then you go to Wordpress Admin Page -> Settings -> Reading

Select Display a static page and choose your page that you created before.

Please make sure that the theme is installed like below:
