Hi,

I’m really liking this theme. However, I need to set up a couple of product catalogs for my site and was planning on using one of these two plugins. Does this theme support the two plugins? Thank you

Hello dyelun,

Thanks for your interest in Blocked.

The theme has been coded to comply with the WordPress Plugin API . This means that every plugin you throw at it is supposed to work (as long as the plugin itself doesn’t have any bugs).

Basically any plugin that runs on Twenty(Ten|Eleven) can run on Blocked.

You should be able to get the functionality you need from your plugin. If the plugin provides its own CSS Styles, then you would need to tweak these a little (using the theme’s custom CSS feature) to make the plugin’s styles match the theme.

If the theme is doing something that prevents the plugin from working, then it is my responsibility to fix it, given the situation.

Hope this helps answer your question.

Best Regards,
Ernie.-

Hi, Your theme is awesome. But i have a question for you. In the Icon-post section have “read more” button, but it seem to me it doesn’t work. This my url: http://www.targetedmarketingdata.com/. Is there anything you can do to made it work. Thanks a lot.

Hello Orthos,

You’re right, it’s broken, sorry about that. I guess the theme does a whole lot of things for just one person to handle them all and get them right at the same time!

Head over to the Support Forums (it’s free) and post your issue there, I’ll follow up with the fix there when it’s available. I’ve already spotted the problem.

I will fix this and make the fix available for 1.0.55, to be completed tomorrow (a few more things to be fixed for tomorrow too). Hope you don’t mind a few hours to get this fixed.

P.S.: if you want to test while I get the fix ready, edit includes/post_types/icon-post.php and set public to true on line 14…

Best Regards,
Ernie.-

Thank you for your purchase, for reporting the issue and for understanding that humans make mistakes. I’ll see you in the forums, you’ll have a good time there :)

Ernie, This theme looks awesome. So many great features but I’m especially impressed with all the shortcodes you include, not sure I’ve ever seen a theme with such a comprehensive list.

Hoping I get a project soon that fits this theme

Hi!

I purchased your theme and am trying to upload but keep getting this error message:

Unpacking the package… Installing the theme… The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet. Theme install failed.

Why am I missing the style.css stylesheet? Can you please help? I’ve tried reinstalling several times.

Thanks, Danette

Howdy Danette,

Thanks for your purchase. I think you’ve tried reinstalling several times the wrong ZIP file. For help installing, check out this video.

Additionally, that ZIP file contains a documentation directory, which contains detailed instructions on how to install the theme.

Also, for any questions you have, you can post a discussion on the Support Forums. ThemeForest Comments are for pre-sales questions only.

Hi, I’m just about to purchase this theme, which is gorgeous, but I was wondering of the possibility of using a different slider? I’m trying to put something together that would behave like a normal slider, but show four separate images instead of just one single image.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

der
der Author

Hello thal,

Thanks for your interest in the theme. The theme provides three sliders as seen on the demo.

Introducing a slider as suggested would require adding a new slider to the theme, for which are needed some coding skills to pull it off.

The theme provides a solid foundation to build new features on top of it, so if you’re willing to customize, it’ll be very easy (from a developer point of view).

Additionally, I provide help with integration on the forums.

Presale questions: 1) Can a full width image be placed where the logo is through the admin panel? 2) Can I put a border around the website? or stop the thin lines from stretching across horizontally to the window edges? 3) Are their simple enough workarounds for the above questions if not included in the admin panel?

FYI , In the demo, on the layout editor page, the navigation goes behind the video that shows all the cool stuff your theme does.

Regards, Chris

Hello Chris,

1) Yes, you can do that.

2) Yes, this can be done by adding some Custom CSS (which I provide in the forums) added via the Theme’s Admin.

3) Yes, they are both possible via the theme’s admin.

Also, thanks for reporting the issue. Question: Which Browser / Version / Operating System are you using ?

Cheers,
Ernie.-

I can’t seem to get any content in the very bottom of homepage1 (in the dark background section.) What am I missing? Love the theme BTW

Thanks! Greg

Hello Greg,

You need to enable the Footer Widgets on Theme Options > Footer.

Then you will be able to see the footer widgets. I’ll make sure they are enabled by default on the next update. I thought this was intuitive.

Any other questions you may have, head over to the Support Forums (it’s free), I’ll be more than happy to help. ThemeForest Comments are for pre-sales questions only.

Hi Ernie, Thanks for the fast reply. I will be purchasing your theme.

On PC, I used Firefox 13.0.1 and IE 8 .0.6

Hello Chris,

After digging more about this issue, I think this is related to either a browser bug or an Operating System bug. I’ve tried getting a fix for it, but I always hit a wall. It’s strange that the same browsers work fine on other environments.

If you try with any theme, you will get the exact same problem. Not just with Blocked.

But, if there’s a WordPress theme that can use OEmbed without interfering with the menus on Windows, I’d like to see it to learn how they’ve fixed that problem.

Ernie.-

It works great on my Mac at home and the Theme’s Admin is making everything easy to set up.

Hi Guys gr8 Theme, But I cant get “Pages” to work. I can see them but there is not content on the Page. I can not see in Layout Editor where you add content for the pages to become visible.

der

Hello There!

Use the “Post Content” Component on the Layout Editor. Adjust the settings as you need. It renders both post and page content.

For any other questions you may have, please refer to the Support Forums. ThemeForest comments are better for pre-sales questions.

Hi,

I was wondering if it would be possible to eliminate the slider and upload my own background image with my company name and logo at the top of the page.

Chad

der
der Author

Yup, that can easily be done. The layouts you see in the demo are just examples. At the end you decide how your layout will look like, using the Layout Components provided by the theme.

Everything is a layout component, except the header/footer.

Great! And can you tell me what size I should use to design my background image?

der
der Author

The theme’s maximum width is 960 pixels, you can use it to shape your images accordingly. The height is left at your discretion.

Images are cropped to achieve that width if they’re bigger to make it optimal and to save space/bandwidth.

Any help you need you can post your questions on the Support Forums if/when you purchase.

Pre-sales question:

I thought this theme was responsive?

I emailed the theme live demo url to my smart phone and there was nothing mobile friendly about it whatsoever. I went back and double checked your sales page and it does state that this is a responsive theme. How’s that? What am I missing?

Ron

der
der Author

Trust me, the theme is responsive. I’ve spent months making it responsive.

Go to this URL on your mobile device:

bit.ly/blocked-wp

Or, scan the following QR Code:

Yep … that’s a very nice responsive theme indeed.

Thank you for the demo.

Ron

I’m sure this sounds very stupid, but I’m already stuck. Can you tell me how to create an admin account for wordpress so I can get to the dashboard where I upload the theme. I tried signing up for wordpress and it seems to only be for a blog, no dashboard.

der
der Author

I think your’e setting up an account on WordPress.com ? If that’s the case you won’t be able to install the theme. Premium Themes can be used when you have your own server to install both WordPress and the theme.

Register your domain name (godaddy.com).

Get a hosting provider (hostgator.com). They will provide you with your hosting account, ready to be used. On the CPanel interface (or other) you can install wordpress from there, and then install the theme using the instructions provided on the documentation.

Cool, thank you sir. Your support service is top notch!

Ernie, I am totally impressed and LOVE this theme!!!!! You have clearly put a lot of work into this. I’ve been able to upload various plug-ins without any problems and to create my site with ease. I’m giving you a five!!!! Plus, with my minor questions you were so quick to respond. Hope you do great with this and looking forward to keeping an eye on all of your future work.

Hi,

I really like this theme. I wanted to know few things,

I want a 2 testimonial widgets on the home page. Is there a inbuilt widget for that? If not, does it support 3rd party widget?

I want to scroll the client logos in the scroll page. Is there a automatic scroll feature where we can add the logos and they keep on scrolling automatically? I also don’t want the lightbox enabled for this section. Can I disable the default light box for this section?

der
der Author

Howdy,

Glad you like the theme. As per your questions:

1) Yes. The theme provides the Quick Shortcode widget, which allows you to add any shortcode into a Widget Area. The theme provides testimonials as shortcodes, so you can add these using such widget.

2) The theme doesn’t provide this feature, I guess you could add this with plugins, but I’m not quite sure.

3) Yes, you can disable the lightbox for the various sections of the site. Also, the lightbox is automatically added to the post/page content. But, it can be disabled using some JavaScript code I provide.

Best Regards, Ernie.-

Hi Ernie,

The homepage slider is not working in IE7 . At first I thought it was my implementation but then I checked out the “Live Preview” of the theme in Themeforest and saw the same problem. I also noticed the font is incorrect and there are issues with the Layout editor. I have attached screenshots for your reference.

Hi Madizon,

The theme is not compatible with IE7 . You can see the full browser compatibility on the product’s page on the right hand side.

I recommend using the Layout Editor with modern browsers, such as Google Chrome, Safari or Firefox. These will give you the best user experience, as they support the advanced JavaScript features used by the Layout Editor.

Ernie.-
