Future request. In a future release can the Breaking News be able to show multiple news items? I would like to see where the first one would show then it would fade out and the second one would appear. Just a request for a future release. Thank you.

WPExplorer

Thank you for the suggestion. I’ll have a look into this when the next version comes around.

Menus. I have a menu with one item that has a drop down with selections and one of the items on the drop down has a fly out with more menu items. For example, in your demo you have features which drop down with more items. If you add a fly out menu to your deals does it work for you? I changed themes to a different one and it appears to work. Is this a theme issue or do I need to dig deeper into my settings? Thank you.

WPExplorer

Hum, there does appear to be a bug with the sub, sub menus. ;( Can you open a ticket at wpthemehelp.com so I can fix it and let you know the solution?

Thanks!

WPExplorer

Actually just found the bug..

Open style.css and delete line 608:

top: -999em;

Pretty sure that will fix the issue.

Excellent! Should I still open a ticket?

WPExplorer

Not if you managed to fix it yourself ;) I’ll update the theme.

On the “contact” page of your demo you display a contact form in the actual content portion of the page. I don’t see the option in the symple codes; can you direct me how to install a similar form? Thanks – Tim

WPExplorer

This should be mentioned in the docs. I use and highly recommend Contact Form 7 – http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/contact-form-7/

Thank you for the purchase!

When I access for option panel in the theme appear this error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare options_typography_get_os_fonts() (previously declared in /home/my_site/public_html/wp-content/themes/Bloggit/options.php:36) in /home/my_site/public_html/wp-content/themes/Bloggit/options.php on line 33

What is it the problem?

Thanks

WPExplorer

There was a recent update to the options framework and the developer added the function built-in so it had to be removed from the main theme.

This issue has been fixed, please see the change log at the bottom of the theme page:

I noticed that in the newest release it didn’t include the below fix. Can you add it to the next release?

Oh bummer, I forgot! I will update it thanks for the reminder ;)

Hi, i have just bought your theme, after installation i can’t setup my theme settings because there is this fatal error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare options_typography_get_os_fonts() (previously declared in /home/site/public_html/wp-content/themes/Bloggit/options.php:36) in /home/site/public_html/wp-content/themes/Bloggit/options.php on line 33

WPExplorer

This has been fixed in the latest version (it’s a conflict with the latest version of the option panel – see the changelog on the bottom of the theme page), are you sure you just bought it and got the latest version?

I’ve double checked and confirmed the latest version available doesn’t have the issue.

Thanks for the purchase!

It’s weird you didn’t receive the latest one from ThemeForest. Maybe you got it right before the update. Sorry for this!

Love the theme, I am using it for the redesign of my site and it’s working out great.

I was wondering if you were planning on adding an area to the theme options for CSS overrides? I have made some edits, and I know when you update the theme I might have to redo these edits.

Also, I know the bottom featured slider most likely uses featured images from the posts, and I am using this slider, however I do want to turn the featured images off for the blog posts. How would I do this?

WPExplorer

Glad you like it ;)

I actually don’t have any intention for this. There are lots of great plugins that do this already. If you have jetpack installed they have a really nice custom CSS module you could use.

I’m not understanding the second question. You mean disable the actual images on the post? If so in the theme options in the blog tab there is a setting that reads “Featured Image/Video on single posts?” Simply un-check the box.

Default-user

I have changed the_excerpt into the_content, so the posts are like standard blog posts/single posts on the front page and in the archive. I have turned the featured image off, and its still there.

The image is missing, I haven’t uploaded it after moving servers, but you can see its still trying to show the featured image. http://i.imgur.com/ASSR0yn.png
WPExplorer

If you look at content.php you’ll see there is a conditional check online 33:

<?php if( has_post_thumbnail() ) {  ?>
//image code here
<?php } ?>

If there isn’t any image defined it should not show – this is a core function.

This is what it should look like – http://www.wpexplorer.me/premium/bloggit/files/2013/03/no-featured-image.png

Are you certain the featured image is disabled for that post?

Hello,

I’ll love to show adsense for mobile in the header when viewed from a mobile is there any way around this. thanks

WPExplorer

If you want custom ads for mobile only you can use the wp_is_mobile() function and put your custom code in header.php – http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_is_mobile

adewalelagos

I inserted the code below into my theme header and it breaks my site

<?php if ( wp_is_mobile() ) { adsense for mobile code } ?> what is the right way to do this?

adewalelagos

I tried using this plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/post-layout/ to show ad for mobile device only but it is not working. My site here: www.naijaurban.com.

WPExplorer

I can’t assist with plugin issues, sorry ;( Especially with a plugin that appears to not have very positive reviews.

adewalelagos

How do i use this code? <?php if ( wp_is_mobile() ) { adsense for mobile code } ?> what is the right way to do this?

WPExplorer

Exactly as you have written above. It’s basic php. Would be used directly in your template file.

I also noticed that none of my advertisement code is showing up on mobile. I will love to know how to get this to work since adsense/ad is how i generate revenue. Thanks

WPExplorer

The ads added via the theme panel are hidden for mobile, this isn’t an issue as you can see the live demo works the same way. If you want to show them you can alter your CSS at css/responsive.css – the reason they are hidden is because most ads aren’t responsive or they don’t actually generate income on mobile devices, plus it looks pretty bad because they get shrunk. I think its important to provide mobile users with an easy to use un-cluttered mobile version as most mobile visitors (especially on a blogging site) and looking for content to read.

adewalelagos

I need the ad o show on mobile so that they could generate impression for me, my site has more mobile visitors than desktop. What line of the css/responsive.css should i edit.

WPExplorer

The responsive.css is very well commented, you should be able to find the code easily.

I’ll love to replace the search bar on the top with google adsense for search. i hope this is possible. Thanks.

WPExplorer

It is. You’ll need to edit your header.php file accordingly.

adewalelagos

What should i be looking for to edit. thanks

adewalelagos

I also deleted the breaking new code, can you please supply it. thanks

You would change line 102 (looks like the code below) to your google code:

<?php get_search_form(); ?>

Hello..

Your theme has the makings of a blockbuster wp theme and will have a long run…

I just brought and installed it…

I am facing an issue with regard to post thumbnails…

My previous theme had 100px X 100px thumbnails…

I cannot get all my posts to display thumbnails…

You can check it on my website http://indiamicrofinance.com/

What can I do to correct this ?

BTW I have generated thumbnails and featured images for all my posts using plugins … but they are still not displaying.. ?

WPExplorer

This theme doesn’t require you to regenerate your thumbnails because it has a custom function which uses the Wordpress cropping system to produce the featured images on the fly.

Your site appears down so I can’t check.

Can you make sure you are using the latest version of WordPress?

Default-user

Oops sorry I had the maintenance mode enabled… have disabled it now.

Default-user

Yes I have the latest version of wordpress… you can check my website now here http://indiamicrofinance.com/

WPExplorer

Alright when I look at your site source this is the error I am seeing on the broken images:

Unable to open '/home/indiamic/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/financial-inclusion-india-370x330.jpg' for writing: Permission denied in <b>/home/indiamic/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-image-editor.php</b> on line <b>334</b>

My guess is that your featured image URLs didn’t get set correctly as I wasn’t able to find that image at that location in the example above.

That or your permissions/ownership isn’t set correctly for those files.

You should be able to disable them via the theme panel on the blog tab.

how well does this theme work with woo commerce?

WPExplorer

I haven’t tested it with WooCommerce. The theme is well coded so as long as you know how to use the plugin there shouldn’t be any conflicts.

Thank you… I got

another few queries..

Shortcode – The short code for buttons does not work in the main footer widget ?

Also the popular posts tabber widget is missing the bullets for each post in the main footer of my 3rd widget… Is this because of the theme settings ? What will I need to change display bullets ?

http://indiamicrofinance.com/
WPExplorer

Shortcodes aren’t enabled in WordPress widgets by default – http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/shortcodes-in-sidebar-widgets/

Not sure what bullets you are referring to.

I also noticed that the standard google ad unit of 300×250 pixels juts out of the sidebar by about 20 pixels… I think the standard sidebar should be bigger by 20 pixels…

WPExplorer

The sidebar is 300px wide by default…that’s exactly why I made it that size.

See style.css line 124

This was fixed the same day as the update ;) Please see the changelog on the theme page – http://themeforest.net/item/bloggit-responsive-wordpress-blogmagazinenews/3866432 – Version 1.4 – the only file that requires updating is options.php.

Hello

I am back again.. My website is working fine now…

I hope you can check out the reason why images are not displaying for my old posts despite having featured posts.

I need to increase the sidebar side by 20px and reduce the body by 20px… which files do I edit ?

WPExplorer

I responded about the images, forgive the delay.

You’ll need to edit your style.css directly or add custom css to your site via a child theme or plugin. Remember though that the theme is designed with these sizes in mind, so if you change the body width the whole grid changes unless you decrease the inner padding as well or instead of the actual pixel width.

Anyway… I did it by editing the style.css file it works fine now…

Only got one issue to resolve thumbnail images on old posts…

Can you see my previous response?

Hello,

I’m planning to purchase the theme, but I’d like to know one thing:

I’d like the width of the theme to be 1080 instead of 980 as it is now.

Will it be possible with few small changes here and there in the .css files to get needed width and still keep the layout.

WPExplorer

Yes and no…I suggest you first try it out using a browser editing tool such as firebug to see how easy its going to be for you.
