Nice look. Any other options for the background, though? Good luck with sales!
Thanks! Yes, there are some background pattern/image presets in theme options, you can also upload your own backgrounds.
Database error…
I agree w/ background variation. Other than that, it’s a good style.
Thanks. I will try to add a style changer for better live prieview.
Doesnt look like the search bar is working?
You’re right, on the magazine layout the search page does not display correctly, update on the way! Thanks for your feedback.
Ouch! Database error…

Looks like the host can’t handle the traffic. I will fix this as soon as possible.

Exactly what I’ve been waiting for
Thanks!
Loving it.. but I wish there that a regular “blog” page could be created.
Thanks for your purchase! By default this theme displays posts as a traditional blog and category pages are on the same format, so you can create a category “blog” for example. or do you want to achieve something else?
No, that’s what I was looking for. I guess I should have played with it some more. I spent so much time putting together the homepage I neglected to look into subpages too much.
Is there a way to embed and play a video from the slider?
The slider doesn’t support videos in it, because it shows the featured post thumbnail associated with the post. This native WordPress function only allows images.
Ok. I guess my next question is.. where is that element contained? Main Index Template ? or Theme Functions? So I can attempt to replace it with a video support slider. I know I’ll lose featured image functions but I’m ok with that.
My (hopefully) end result is a video linked to a post where that spot is.
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.
The slider code is in
loop-slider.phpfile. I will have to experiment a little bit with videos in slider, I’m nort sure Nivo Slider can handle videos because it has some complex transition effects. I will check that and get back. From what I’m reading it looks like SlideDeck can handle videos.
However, can I just comment out the old code in loop and replace with slidedeck?
I really appreciate your help ! you’ve already gone above and beyond normal support.
Yes, commenting some parts and replacing with new code would work. You’ll notice that there is some code between script tags that implements nivo slider, so that need to be replaced, and also the code between conditional if statement where the thumbnail is called, you’d want to replace that with your video embed code from the post.
I love your theme. LOVE . And I just bought it. But: How customizable are the archive pages? I see that the “Action sports” archive got that “home”/front page feeling to it, if you know what I mean, which I really like. How is that setup?
Thanks! The category pages can have its own slider and its own sidebar. Basically when you create a post you check the checbox that says “Category Slider” and then the post will appear in slider area on that category page. And to enable the sidebar you have to go to Categories and Edit the chosen one, then check the checbox to enable sidebar.
Also. You should implement some sort of image viewer script. Opening a posted image in the browser window, which forces the visitor to leave the current page, is not optimal.
Maybe Lightbox?
Currently there is a version of lighbox called “prettyPhoto” installed on the theme. I have mentioned how to set up that in documentation. If somehow you cant get it to work, please drop a line, I will help you out.
Ahhhh, I see, I assumed there wasn’t any since prettyPhoto doesn’t seem to be activated in the demo? Or maybe it’s my old browser (at work) playing games? I clicked a screenshot in a entry and it just loaded the image in the browser.
I will check it out once I’ve installed it on our server.
Once again – great theme!
Sorry for all the questions, but I’ve installed the theme now and only got one problem: How did you setup the “Video games” post list on the main page of the live demo? I’ve played around with the Recent Posts widget but it won’t let me outline like you have.
If I set it up to show full width and two columns (1 featured) the non-featured posts show both to the left and directly under the featured post, plus the thumbnail size for the featured post is not like in the demo. It’s way smaller and is just aligned to the left of the title and the meta info. :/
Check this image: http://i.imgur.com/MVj61.png
After dragging the Recent Posts widget click Save before you start setuping, after the save the slect boxes will adjust properly and then you set the options. Hope that helps, if anything dont hesitate to ask.
I’ve done that – and this is how it turns out: http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/9770/skrmavbild20111109kl214.png
Very weird.
Ah you need to reduce number of posts to 4, the floating breaks because the first featured post has little text, if it had more text, then one more post would fit.
But what about the size of the thumbnail?
Oh i missed that, sorry. It could be on of two issues:
1) if your previous theme used post thumbnails, they need to be regenerated, see the documentation, I’ve mentioned two plugins that could do the job.
2) the image you uploaded was smaller than 300×185px so it was not enlarged, because WordPress does not do that. So you will need upload an image at least of the size I mentioned (or bigger). The same applies for the slider images they need to be atleast 600×340px
I changed thumbnail generate script – and it worked.
Btw, the author box is screwed somehow: http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/9593/skrmavbild20111110kl053.png
I’m not really sure why it broke like that, I’ve checked how it displays on my preview on all browsers and it seems ok. Maybe you can provide me a link to your site, so I can inspect the code with firebug? You can send the link via my profile contact form or paste it here in comments if thats ok.
The website is not accessible outside of our network, unfortunately. I’ll look into it. It’s weird, because I haven’t edited the single page whatsoever.
I have another wish. What might be a good addition to the recent posts-widget: The possibility to exclude posts. That would make it easier to be creative with the widgets on the front page. And it shouldn’t be too hard to implement,
You mean excluding posts by their ID or you mean somehing else? If yes, I think thats doable.
Let’s say I want to add a recent posts widget and it would let me set a exact number of posts to exclude. I want to show 5 posts from category “News” but I want to exclude the 5 most recent posts in that category.
I will consider adding this feature with the next update, maybe early next week.
