You can change the max amount inside template-home.php on line 30:
  <?php $loop = new WP_Query( array( 'post_type' ?> 'portfolio', 'posts_per_page' => 30 ) ); ?>

Change the posts_per_page number to something higher.

Hi Andre,

first of all congratulations on the lovely theme. It is a joy to look at.

I’m having a problem regarding the menus. I want to create a “Services” menu like the one on the demo site but i can’t do it in the wordpress “menus” because the skills don’t show up. I can’t even replicate the url structure of the demo site: site.com/skills/print-design.

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance for your time.

Regards, Ricardo

Hi Ricardo-

You’ll just need to click “screen options” from the menu page of the admin and be sure that “skills” is checked.

Cheers, Andre

Absolutely Love the template… I was wondering is there a pagination option on the portfolio page if there are 100 images will it act the same the main page is layout ??and is pagination possible?

2winFactor

Hi Honey-

Pagination is possible, however I didn’t include is as I couldn’t see the need for 100s of portfolio items. You can always copy and paste the pagination code from any of the single pages and it should paginate for you.

Hello Andre!

This template you designed is amazing! :)

It is has almost everything I need! Is there a way to add on the home page, a facebook “Like” as they do in the theme Accordium by ParkerAndKent? Or a Share icon?

This would help me so much!

2winFactor

Hi JayKay-

Thanks! Yes it would be easy to add some share icons beneath the navigation (I believe that’s what you’re referring to?). There’s actually a widget area there, so you can add a text widget and add your images and links there. If you need help, just let me know.

Andre

Can I use this template without wordpress?

2winFactor

Currently, this Theme is only available for wordpress, so you need a wordpress install to use it.

Andre

Thanks Andre – hate to bug you – I don’t use Wordpress – but I would install Wordpress on my own local machine to change and update it – but as far as hosting- it could just be hosted on my own server as a regular website would be?

2winFactor

Yes, wordpress can be hosted on your own server. However, you’ll need to install wordpress on that server first. Then, once wordpress is installed, you install the theme via the admin panel, or upload to the themes folder via ftp. Does that make sense?

More info here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress

Andre

Thanks for the info Andre! I won’t be able to install Wordpress on our servers – so this option is out – but wanted to tell you what an awesome design it is. Will look for more from you!

Coolbeans Mezibro. Thanks for the kudos :)

Hi there! Great theme, its exactly what I’ve been looking for to replace my old site and I’ve been searching for months!

I’m not planning to use it for an art portfolio, but instead to showcase photographs and would like to change a few things, notably the word “skills” around the website, I want to replace it with ‘Place’. Where can I change this?

Also, on the permalink page of a portfolio item, is it possible to remove everything that appears above the photo? That is, the photo title and the black bar that shows the portfolio section title?

Thanks so much in advance.

2winFactor
You’ll need to replace the skills word on line 123:
   &lt;?php _e('Skills:', 'framework') ?&gt;
If you’re looking to remove the title as well, remove this on line 23:
  <h2>&lt;?php the_title(); ?&gt;</h2>
You can change the size of blog/project titles with custom css placed in Appearance > Theme Options > Customize:
.blogpost h2 {
font-size: 14px;
}

Pro Tip: You can always use chrome’s Inspect Element feature to isolate the css of something you want to modify. Makes it super easy to make theme modifications.

Perfect thank you so much again! I’m super impressed with this theme and your amazing responsiveness!

I started using Firebug in Firefox to figure things out (its helping a lot) but I still can’t figure out how to do the following:

1) Is it possible to get rid of the tagline and navigation under the logo? (I just want to access them from the navigation footer panel instead)

2) How do I make the tagline and blog post titles not italic? I’ve managed to change the size of the font, but can’t make them not italic.

Thanks SO much again :)

2winFactor
1) Yes, you can remove that by adding the folllowing to the custom css box:
.logonav .description {
display:none;
}
2)You can change that css with:
.description, .blogpost h2, .blogpost h2 a {
font-style: normal;
}

2winFactor

You’ll need to adjust those with:

.sf-menu li, .sf-menu li.sfHover, .sf-menu a, sf-menu li li, .sf-menu li:hover, .sf-menu a:focus, .sf-menu a:hover, .sf-menu a:active, .sf-menu a, .sf-menu a:visited, .sf-menu li li a, .sf-menu li li a:visited {

Hi

Really like the theme gonna use for my portfolio.

Quick question i do like the way all the slides load then reset back to the top left corner before animating into their places.

I really dont like this would prefer if they just loaded in their set place rather from the top left.

Can you tell me where or what line to find it in the js been searching through commenting stuff out but cant find it.

Thanks for the hard work

2winFactor

Hi Gum-

That’s coming as a fix in the next update, but it’s super easy to fix. In style.css, remove the css3 transitions from .item on line 570. You’ll want to change this:
.item { /* Portfolio Item Container */
    width: 240px;
    margin: 0 10px 20px 10px;
    float: left;
    border-radius:5px;
    position:relative;
    -webkit-transition: all 1s ease-in-out;
    -moz-transition: all 1s ease-in-out;
    -o-transition: all 1s ease-in-out;
    -ms-transition: all 1s ease-in-out;
    transition: all 1s ease-in-out;
}
to this:
.item { /* Portfolio Item Container */
    width: 240px;
    margin: 0 10px 20px 10px;
    float: left;
    border-radius:5px;
    position:relative;
}

Otherwise, the update should come out this week/early next week.

Andre

Hello I really like the theme.

I have a few questions.

1. can the icons be bigger in the homepage? like bigger sized pictures

2. can I use jwplayer and other plays to showcase videos ? as I don’t want my videos to be hosted on YouTube or vimeo

3. the footer does not have fluid width as opposed to the site content, can this be changed ?

4. the full page width seems to be narrow for me perhaps im used to seeing websites centerd, can the page width be increased ?

5. can videos be showcased on the homepage like pictures with flexible widths ?

Many thanks

Joshua

2winFactor

Hi Joshua-

I’m glad you like the theme. To answer your questions:

1.) The pictures can be bigger, however, you’ll need to alter the javascript that controls the animations. If you’re comfortable with javascript it shouldn’t be too hard.

2.)So far Youtube, Vimeo and self-hosted quicktime videos are the only ones supported. Future video support may come in a future update depending on demand.

3.) That’s correct, the footer is fixed. You can change it by altering the css of the footer container.

4.) Full page width is about 960px from the fixed logo/navigation to the edge of the sidebar. Any wider and many monitors couldn’t accomodate for the width. You can always change this to fluid by adjusting the fullpage container css too.

5.) Embedded videos don’t respond well to flexible widths (as some are flash) and z-index is a real pain. It’s possible but would take some heavy modifications.

Thanks Andre

Hello Andre

Thanks for the quick reply,

I am don’t know javascript at all, as if I upload quicktime MP4 videos which player will play them if they are self hosted ?

If I were to purchase the theme could you help me to create bigger picture sizes on the homepage ?

I am a novice thats why :)

Many Thanks

Joshua

2winFactor

Hi Joshua-

You can just upload videos to your wordpress media gallery (they must be .mov quicktime files). Then on your portfolio item page, paste the link to your uploaded file in the videos box.

Unfortunately, I cannot provide you with modifications to the existing theme, however, there are services out there that may be able to help, such as the freelance switch job board, etc.

Best Regards, Andre
