We want to use the java script from below for one of our pages. Is it possible?
Also, can we force the images to go to whatever images or site that we want upon a click? ie. if we wanted the photo on the blog post to direct itself to a photo album.
Thanks for you help!
Thanks for sour interest!
We can’t guarantee that it will work with this script but if it is in general made to work on a normal WordPress site you should be fine
About the links: that would require some custom programming work by yourself as it’s not an default option in our theme I’m afraid
Hello, I just purchased this and am currently working on the site. Is there a specific way to get the youtube videos to work on a post? I did the video ID, the embed code, the share code and nothing is working.
Sorry, there was a glitch, the id worked just fine. Thank you.
Does this theme work well with BuddyPress? Also, if I wanted to use the top menu bar as a filter for the blog posts by category, how would I go about doing that?
Looks like a great theme, if I can get the above functions to work I’m sure to buy!
nevermind … just searched and found that it is not buddypress compatible. Still interested in the filter/sort function.
sorry there is no such filter functionality as you might know from portfolio sections. However you can add categories to the menu and as such use it as a filter of some sort.
I just want to throw out a warning to everyone who’s thinking about buying this theme. The support is VERY poor. In fact, I haven’t got any support at all on my tickets. The only replies from the support themes are like “meh, it works on my iPad, should work in yours too, ticket closed.”
we had some trouble with our support forum. Requests were put in the activity feed instead of the forums. That’s why many requests were lost. This was due however due to a poor design choice of ours. We did correct this one now so that all request must be made a forum topic. That way the support will be much easier to follow.
Really sorry for any inconvenience!
I have to correct the person commenting before – replies are more like “I’ve tested on a Samsung device and there weren’t any issues” if you mention an iPad.
Besides that – the support is really poor, unfortunately. I am trying to get some fixes for over a month now. If you post something in the support forum or send an email directly, it takes days for them to reply and the answers are no help at all most of the time.
I am trying to figure out how to add just one of the galleries that I created in a page. when i put [gallery] all galleries appear on the page. when i use exclude or include, neither work. Any suggestions?
could you please post your question in the support forums, so the programmer of the theme can get back to you?
I love this theme. It is a great design. However, I would not purchase the theme if I had the option. The support is horrible. It has been a week sense I submitted a request for support on the forum with no response. It’s too bad because I think the overall work of the template is fantastic. Well designed and well thought out. But if you run into any issues with the site at all you will have little to no hopes of finding a resolution. Too bad.
I am very sorry you feel this way. Could you point me out the support request? I will ask the programmer to have a look asap. It might just slipped through.
I pointed it out to the coder!
The response did not bring resolution to my request. The coder could not have even read the support ticket. If he would have he would have clearly known that his response was bogus. can someone please help me with this ticket? I would quit posting here but I receive a much faster response from this page.
Hi, I responded in the forum:
I think the problem here is that the way facebook handles links has nothing to do with this theme, that’s why the programmer is not able to help you out here. All we can do is having a facebook share button. Everything that happens afterwards is handled by facebook itself and by the code facebook offers to you as a user. I wish I could tell you a solution but it seems this is simply something facebook support has to take care of. I did a quick google search and it seems it is not that easy to just post links to sheduled posts. In fact you will find many websites testing certain tools to help you archieve this effect.
The reason why you didn’t get a proper response is because we simply can not help here. However we should have communicated that earlier and will improve on communication for sure.
Hello. It is a great design, just perfect. I have a problem if I want to log out from my wordpress, comes the error message
“Fatal error: Call to undefined function rwmb_meta() in /www/htdocs/admin/wp-content/themes/Booklet/index.php on line 22”
Can you help me?
have you installed the mandatory plugin “Meta Box”?
If you haven’t, please install the one that is included with the theme, or install it from here: http://wordpress.org/plugins/meta-box/
I have a couple of problems with this theme, small issues but it’s very important for me to fix those ASAP.
I have opened couple of tickets in the support forum but nobody is replying to me.
Could you please help me to figure out how to solve those errors?
Thank you in advance for your help. MT
Hey – if posted in the forums we take care of it of course
Could you tell me how many posts can be loaded on the home page ? Could you confirm there is no pagination for posts in the home page ? Is it possible to easily change the fonts in the back office (we’d like to use Garamond and Alegreya fonts) ?
Many thanks for your answers
you can post as many posts on the frontpage as you want – it just loads older ones as you scroll! (keeping bandwidth down) and yes there is no pagination
There is no default feature for changing the font – we used google fonts however so changing the font will be easy when it is in the Google font libary and we can assist you there.
hope that helps!
I know support questions are supposed to be in the forum, and I did try to register but for some reason my password did not work (I did type it in correctly) so it looked my out after a number of attempts.
Anyway to my question, is there any way to get posts to automatically size depending on there order, for example the first would be wide, 2nd would be boxed, third would be wide etc (that would look horrible just an example xD).
I want to do this because choosing particular posts to size in this way brings up a few problems, the first is that its easy to forget to do (we have a number of authors) and the second is that sometimes the rest of the boxes will not size to the screen correctly and leave gaps.
I have managed to edit some of the theme to automatically size boxes into a new layout by giving them a new class depending on their position, and removing the previous class, however I now have a problem with the image sizings, as these are still sticking to the default boxed size.
If you could help at all that would be great.
thanks for the purchase and sorry for the trouble with our support forum! Unfortunately though such an option is not available It’s kind of the down side of the homepage style we have in Booklet (make sure that the boxes “fit” to the screen.
The easiest way is to always use a large enough image by default.
Not very helpful I know – hope you are enjoying the theme nonetheless
The problem is that they don’t actually fit if you actually use the theme with the different sized boxes, as when you post more content with different sized boxes it all falls out of place.
I guess I will just try to get around it myself or make up my own grid.
Reading through the comments is enough to put a person off buying this theme but despite that I am still keen. My question relates to the theme options. Can I change fonts, colours sizes etc via the theme options. Since there is no screenshot it’s hard to tell until I buy it at which point it’s too late.
Also am I going to be able to use Visual Bakery page builder with this theme or does it already have it’s own page builder rather than using the outdated shortcodes.
sorry for the bad feeling about the theme It is a very basic theme and does everything as adverstised. Changing fonts, sizes etc. is not possible via the backend, sorry. We also don’t use any shortocdes or page builders – the layout you see is the theme’s default style. You can use Visual Composer with this theme as well of course but we didn’t style any widgets for it so it will have the default widgets only which are often not looking too good.
If it is the style you like and if you also want styled Visual Composer widgets you might look at our new theme we are planning to release next week: http://wordpress.thebebel.com/showcase/newsbook/ There is als a video with gives you a look at the backend: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyjDrPt65C4
Thanks for your honesty here guys. Newsbook looks like it’s going to be worth waiting for so I will look forward to the release soon.
we just made some security fixes to ensure the theme is safe for you to use. That messed up the preview a bit however – we are working on fixing this and let you know here in the comments!
A lot of these themes require a lot of wordpress knowhow.. its been tough
What a pain in the fucking ass to set up.. a big waste of money!
Hey man – sorry for the trouble – where exactly do you have problems with the theme? Can you tell me what error message you got or what does not work? You can send me login details and I will set everything up for you if you want.
