Was looking for a clean template, saw this theme and had a quick look-around and directly purchased it.

Job well done, design wise and functions wise

Good to hear, thanks a lot. :)

Hi Ghostpool-

I purchased your Magnifizine theme a while back… Used to great success at 112video.com. Looks like I’m back again

I have a quick question about Bounce… Is it possible to configure the home page layout to have the header of Homepage 3 with the Slider of Homepage 2 and the content of Homepage 1?

If so, I am buying this theme too!

GhostPool

Hi there,

Glad to see you purchased the theme. Here’s the answers to your questions if you still need them.

Yes this is certainly possible. All the homepage examples are made using shortcodes through WordPress, the layouts are not predefined so you can mishmash each layout example.

Couldn’t wait… Just purchased this theme!

Hi Ghost,

I have a short question, I love your homepage layout #1, can you provide me with the actual set-up/ script of how you did the top (fold) part?

The short intro text, youtube vid on the right and the call to action button?

Would be great, thank you in advance.

Kind regards, Marcus

Hi there,

The demo content allows you to import this page so it’s set up for you, the help also shows you how to create it with the specific code used: http://ghostpool.com/help/bounce/help.html#homepage

Hi GP,

I like your theme. However, I’m using Safari and wondering… using the ‘Resize Me’ tool in Safari (plug in to switch to a designated window size) the layout holds ‘wide’ on say 1024×768 (which is desirable) but if I resize the browser window manually from a wide view to a medium size view, the layout shrinks down quickly / readily ahead of what I’d expect it to.

My Q is…. is there a way to control delaying the resize or ‘responsiveness’ of the layout so it takes effect (when resizing a browser window) at a dedicated px width? I do understand it may not be the intention of a ‘responsive’ layout to behave as I wish but there are times when developing websites I have found it helpful to resize windows manually and for some reason this layout is very quick to want to shrink down in size.

I hope my query makes sense to you.

Cheers

Hi there,

I believe I have fixed this issue now. Please take a look on the theme demo to confirm this. I will be releasing a fix for this shortly.

Hi GP,

Nice theme! Seems that below 480px the theme is not responsive… Is an update planned to go down to (at least) 320px?

Kind regards, Monique

GhostPool

Hi there,

I didn’t plan on scaling the theme down below 480px because the theme displays the mobile layout for 480px screen sizes and below. Can I ask what device you’re using that would require a different layout from the current mobile layout that comes with the theme Monique?

Default-user

Hi,

To be honest I don’t have a mobile devide with that small size myself. I reduced the window size in various browsers and found out to have a horizontal scrollbar below 480px.

I think the main question is do a significant number of users have a device with a screen 480px? I don’t think so and if they do it’s likely this device will scale down the theme to prevent horizontal scrolling (except of course on computers). I personally think it’s just a gimmick to resize the theme any smaller than 480px but I’m willing to be be proved wrong. :)

One of the nicest, most intuitive, full-featured themes I’ve ever used. Was up and running really quickly thanks to its ease of use. I particularly appreciated the custom sidebars functionality, which was a massive help on the large site I’m working on. Awesome job! :) PS – I think it would be a fantastic addition if the custom sidebar could be set by category as well as on individual pages

Hi there,

I can show you how to do this with a small code adjustment over at the support forum http://ghostpool.com/support :)

Hi

I’m interested to buy this theme but I’m wondering if you can customize the alignment to be RIGHT to LEFT in order to be compatible with Arabic language, coz the fonts of Arabic comes from Right to Left also the design its self it should be in this style (Right to Left)

Thank you so much indeed for your great work

GhostPool

Hi there,

The theme does not come with RTL support by default, but you can create your own rtl.css stylesheet to switch the alignment.

hi,

I have a lot of issues to install this theme.

Please I need your support to install the theme.

What kind of info you need?

Thanks

GhostPool

Hi there,

I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have at my support forum at http://ghostpool.com/support

Just clearly describe the issues you’re having and link to any pages that show these problems.

I tried to upload pictures for my slide and look what error message I have:

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 29884416) (tried to allocate 12032 bytes) in /homepages/26/d249825283/htdocs/marcellepoirier.com/httpdocs/new/wp-includes/media.php on line 258

Please let me know what to do

GhostPool

As I said in my first response I’ll address all your questions on my support forum, however this error in particular is not theme related, it is a server issue. You should speak to your host about increasing your memory allocation.

I guess I was expecting “easy to use” and I am sure that for someone with years of experience, your template might be that. But for someone like me with a working knowledge of css, php, and html, but is newer to Wordpress, this is unbelievably complex.

I will consider this a total waste of three days and $35 for the theme and regrettably move on. Your designs are very eye catching but definitely only for very experienced users. You should explain this in your marketing. I am afraid that despite the nice look and flexibility of the platform, I will have to give it a low rating because it was marketed as easy to use.

Hi there,

I always appreciate feedback from customers and take their criticisms on board when possible, but I also have to defend myself and my themes when the comments are simply not true.

You posted on the support forum with two issues. The first was that you had trouble adding your own logo to the theme. You are the first user in all the years I’ve been selling themes to find this difficult. This certainly suggests this is not an issue with the theme. All you need to do is copy and paste your image URL into the logo text field – that’s it. What could be more simple?

Your second issue was setting up the homepage. This is explained in detail in the help file, which I assume you didn’t read. The help file provides the code you need to insert into a new page to set up example homepage 1, it also comes with a demo content file so you import the homepage into your site.

Besides they two questions, you then stated the theme was difficult to use yet you never asked for anymore help or showed any signs of reading the help file. All my themes use the same theme framework and very few customers have had difficultly working with them, and nobody has ever claimed they needed years of experience to use them.

I’m sorry you have found the theme difficult to use, but it seems to me you don’t have much experience in working with WordPress and the basic features of this program. For $35 it is not our job as a developer to talk you through the basics of using WordPress you should be prepared to put some effort into to getting to grips with it yourself. Remember you’re getting a theme for $35, which would cost $1000 if you had it coded for you personally.

Hello

Nice Template but i have a question. Is there a option to give normal pages a static header picture in size options 980×400px???

Regards

GhostPool

Hi there,

If you mean can you add an image above the text on pages at 980×400 yes this is definitely possible from the theme options.

Hey,

Great Theme! Is there any way to turn off the browser window resizing? It’s really screwing up on IE browsers for me…. it’s displaying the Mobile version, which i’d rather get rid of the mobile version entirely if I could.

thanks in advance!

Hi,

Firstly great theme ;-D . Only a few general pre-sales questions:

1. Is the homepage fully customisable? Specifically, is it widget based via an options panel or via shortcodes on a page? Also could a normal page/blog page be used as the homepage with the Slider?

2. Is the Slider controlled from within the theme options area or is there a separate dedicated tab for adding/amending slider posts?

Many thanks in advance and again great work.

Kind Regards,

Nitesh

GhostPool

Hi there,

1) Yes the homepage is fully customisable via shortcodes and page options (to control the padding, frame sidebar etc.). Any page can be used as the homepage even a blog page with slider.

2) Sliders are inserted into any page using the the slider shortcode. Slider shortcodes display slider posts that can be created/edited from the back-end. All the controls for the slider (such as speed and size) are controlled from the shortcode itself.

Hi

I left you a message under supermassive comments about NextGen gallery…. And I started looking at your other themes. What is the big difference between this one and supermassive?

Also will your themes allow NextGen images to be used as feature images and for sliders or do we use native gallery.

Sorry for all of the ???s but I have some clients that load pictures from iPad—and this works with the NextGen app. So I am worried that if they have to use the native gallery for WP that they will have issues loading video/images into the site. Hope this makes sense…

The exact project I am working on includes a ton of galleries, the site wants to have some type of order by content and date—putting one major image gallery in each post with text, they need to be displayed in different fashions (I have a few plugins and lightbox right now and they like them), they want a lot of posts/pages showing up on the screen on the category pages, they want to be able to reference post links in the slider images, integrated video, they want it to show up good on mobile/tablet well too, and user login required to access most pages (I can do this easily if theme can’t). Lots of requirements right?

I don’t expect a theme to perfectly match it, just looking for the closest one.

GhostPool

Hi there,

The obvious difference is the themes look completely different. Bounce also has a lot of improved features i.e. more shortcode and theme options. However SuperMassive will be receiving these extra features shortly.

The major difference is Bounce is responsive meaning it adapts to the browser window and has separate mobile and tablet layouts, whereas SuperMassive has none of this.

I do not believe NextGen images will be used as featured images, but I’m not sure because I’ve never used the plugin. If your current themes use NextGen galleries in posts then Bounce and SuperMassive should also work with these galleries.

Beautiful theme!

I have a couple of pre-sale questions:

Can I have a single slider? I like your example homepage 2 but I would like to have a single full size hd vimeo video with the cover image like you are using but I only want a single slide.

I notice on the single blog pages you are using 560×250 for the featured image. Is it possible to set the images to display at the same width you have but with an open height?

Thanks

GhostPool

Hi there,

Yes, of course. You can customize the homepage using shortcodes however you want. You wouldn’t need to use a slider if you just want a single ite,, you instead you can just insert a large video in the header using the video shortcode.

Yes, you can set the image height to 0 to make it variable based on the original image dimensions.

Hello,

I would like to know if this theme supported Auto-Featured Image Plugin? I need to use this plug in and wanted to make sure it worked with this theme. Or possibly does this theme take the first image of a post and make it a featured image automatically like how some other themes do?

GhostPool

Hi there,

Yes Bounce will work with this plugin. :)

Can you specify a category for the portfolio?

Thanks :)

GhostPool

Hi there,

I’m not sure what you mean exactly. If you’re referring to the [posts] shortcode on this page (http://ghostpool.com/wordpress/bounce/features/galleriesportfolios ) you can specify the category or categories yes. :)

Nice looking theme!

I tried the responsiveness of it on iPhone 4, and iPhone 4 simulator.com as well as Electric Mobile Simulator Lite (Electricplum.com) and they all dont appear right. The right side is not seen and cut off.

Is this just a problem im getting? or is it just like that?

GhostPool

Hi there,

This seems to be a bug, which I have hopefully addressed (I don’t have an iPhone 4). How’s it look on your phone now?

Like it a lot… Have 2 questions before I purchase then.

1. Is the forums included in the theme? 2. Is it possible to implement a “attachment-button” and a new form so people can upload a file and send it together with the information, or is there any plugin I can use as you know?

Looks great man, will probably buy it anyway:-)

GhostPool

Sorry for the delay in my response, I have been on holiday for the last week and have had little to no access to the internet.

1) The forum system comes as part of the free BuddyPress plugin, which you can optionally install with the theme.

2) There may be BuddyPress or WordPress plugins that offer such a feature. Check out the plugins directory here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/
