I like this a lot, will there be an HTML /CSS version of this theme?
No sorry
I only make WordPress Themes.
Hello AJ,
really great theme! I have one question. Is it possible to colorize the whole site layout white?
Best regards, Chris.
Sure it is, but it’s going to take several css edits.
Does this theme use timthumb?
Eww, no. Uses the built-in WordPress cropping function.
Thanks! Is it possible to make the bkg only one image and not fade in and out?
Yes. If you only set 1 image it wont create a slider…see the blog for an example:
http://wpexplorer.com/premium/boxed/blog/Hey! I like this theme a lot.
Quick concern before I buy, though: I scanned the QR code on the details page, and it came up as just the background images on my Galaxy Nexus’s browser. It looks like the images might be loading in front of the main site…not sure, though. All I can do is scroll through the images.
Are you going to fix this in an upcoming update? Thanks!
Unfortunately I don’t have a Galaxy Nexus. I’ll have to find one to test it out…I’m sure its an easy fix.
Can you see the toggle button on the top right?
I’m glad it’s probably an easy thing to fix. I’ll go ahead and buy
Yep, I can see the toggle. It just opens a Prev/Next option to go through the photos though.
P.S. I’m really impressed with your responsiveness to concerns. That’s one of the major reasons I’m buying this theme. That and no timthumb
Currently the site is set to not show the main content until the site is fully loaded. Maybe we can try removing that javascript and see if that helps.
Hello AJ,
while uploding my personal images to the portfolio-section the Home-Image-Thumbnails are clinched (not centered and the image proportions arent right). Do you fix this in an upcoming update?
Best regards Chris.
Not sure what you mean. Please show me your URL .
It’s possible if you already had the images on your server that you will have to run the “Regenerate Thumbnails” plugin.
I have one more questions.
1. Does this theme work with commerce plugins – which would you prefer?
2. Can i feature blog posts instead of portfolio works across the home page etc since there isn’t a lot of portfolio pieces at the time?
1. It has not been tested with any. So I don’t know. But just like any e-commerce plugin it will require quite a bit of customization on your part to make it look nice.
2. You could change the post type in the loop from portfolio to posts. And keep the same layout style, but link to blog posts.
Thanks, i’ll make my purchase before the weekend is out and let you know if I run into any commerce plug in issues.
This theme is awesome! I am setting it up now, really easy to use.
One question, is it possible to show no portfolio items on the front page?
Thanks!
Hey, glad you like it;)
Of course its possible and very easy. You can open index.php and remove or comment out lines 40-43:
Hey if you don’t mind giving my theme a rating, I would really appreciate it!
thanks bud.

Hey AJ, I would like to post a default thumbnail on the portfolio to remind forgetful client to add featured image… Can the statement below work?
if(has_post_thumbnail()){ the_post_thumbnail(); }else{ echo '<img src="' . get_bloginfo('template_directory') . '/images/default_post_thumb.jpg" />'; }Yes that would work perfectly
Hi, I’m going to purchase this theme, I fount it really elegant
I’d like to know if you can fix a bug: when I try to resize the window of the browser the background image come scratched.
At this link you can see what I mean SCREENSHOT
What do you mean scratched?
Look at the image. The background image looks deformed
Did you get what I mean?
I was confused by the word “scratched”...maybe you meant “stretched”?
But anyway, of course this will happen, because you are only resizing the width and not the height of your browser.
When viewing on a mobile device the proportions aren’t going to be this drastic.
Look at this site.
http://www.responsinator.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwpexplorer.com%2Fpremium%2Fdemo.php%3Ftheme%3DboxedIt give a test for responsive site.
If you look at “Nicer Android portrait 295 by 515” the image background will showed as scratched.
It would be better if the resize is applied to width too. Is it possible?
Yes, sorry I mean “stretched”
I’d like the background could be resized like this site
EXAMPLE
The resize is applied to width, but because it’s a “Full Screen” image it will also be applied to the height to keep it full-size. There is no way around it, unless you want an image centered in the middle, which is possible, but looks horrible. ;(
It will also depend a lot on the images you upload.
ps: In the example you give, it’s not resizing the image, it is actually cropping out a part of it, which for most people is not ideal.
This is the slider I’m using for the background image, maybe it does have a setting that will work for you, if you wish to customize:
https://github.com/buildinternet/supersizedRight but if you look at this example it works good and resize height and width feeling always the page, without scratching the image in background
Hey,
I just bought this theme and when I goto import the .xml I get the following error:
Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 29097984) (tried to allocate 3000000 bytes) in /homepages/8/d257815124/htdocs/learn2golf-new/wp-includes/media.php on line 258
From researching I found I may need to have my host increase the memory allocated? If so, how much memory do I need to allocate for this to work?
I’m thinking maybe “3000000” is enough since the error says “(tried to allocate 3000000 bytes)”.
Just bought your “office” theme the other day for a site I’m working on… looking (for over an hour) for a new responsive theme for my own site tonight, about to buy this one, and then realize it’s made by the same dev. Clearly I just need to look at your portfolio first next time I’m in the market. Excellent work.
Haha, thank you for the kind words.
I actually am about to finish a new responsive business theme, hoping to submit this weekend if you want to check it out also once its out
I appreciate your support, have a great weekend!
Please help me! First time to use WordPress, but learning a lot. Really like your Boxed theme! I’m not getting the similar homepage like yours; probably I’m doing something wrong, but I did make the images (slide1 to 3) but not getting is linked to the homepage….
Thanks for your time!
Under Settings—> Reading, make sure you don’t have it set to a static page, but that it says “show latest posts”.
Also, make sure you have set your featured images properly.
Have you consulted the included documentation?
When I resize the browser window, the background image doesn’t scale proportionally. It scales the height perfectly, but the width stretches, not scales. It is not just in my code – it is on your demo. I need the background image to act like this one – – doesn’t matter if you resize proportionally, it reacts proportionally.
It’s a ful-screen background image. Think about it…unless you resize your browser the the exact proportions as the image itself it won’t be perfect. There are some options though you can change if you really want to keep image proportions, but, then they might not be full-screen.
You can take a look in includes/supersized-slider.php – you can see the javascript well commented starting at line 104 if you want to mess with it.
Can you give me a call really need your help 415 375-1215 or Email professionalgrf@gmail.com Having a little trouble
$35 is not enough money to grant you a personal phone call for support. If you are having any issues please contact me via my profile page so I can help you via email.
If you want personal phone support (especially during the weekend) you really should hire a web developer
Please post any questions here or email me via my profile page and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Trying to upload the template and this message posted up Unpacking the package…
Installing the theme…
The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.
Theme install failed.
What should I do?
You need to extract the zip file you downloaded from themeforest and upload only the main theme folder. When you extract the zip you will also find the sample data, documentation, licensing…etc.
This video is for my other theme, but its the same concept:
http://www.screenr.com/pW88Thank you for the purchase! AJ
Just extracted the files cant find the main theme folder
It should be located inside the Upload folder and it’s called “Boxed”.
None of the files are zip files
Install a theme in .zip format
If you have a theme in a .zip format, you may install it by uploading it here
If you aren’t using FTP you will need to zip that main Boxed folder. It’s quite easy to create a zip file. Do you need instructions for zipping up folders? Are you a mac or PC user?
I am looking inside “Boxed” folder now don’t see any zip files
PC … Can you send me a video on how to zip the file?
What are the dimensions on the background?
