I am having trouble changing the search watermark to the text I want. I went in the screen.js file, I made the changes as your instruction and still it says search not what I want. Also, your instructions for this is not very clear, you say change the watermark varible, can you be more clear exactly what we are supposed to do, not everyone understands coding as you do. I have noticed this thorughout the instructions you added , that some wording is very basic and does not go into detail. I am very please with the template otherwise. It is a thing of beauty

Hi, I’m sorry that the code documentation it’s not that clear, I find it hard sometimes to put myself in the place of the costumer’s perspective and what may seem clear for me may not be for the buyers. Nevertheless I’ll take your words seriously and improve the documentation.

So in order to change the watermark search text edit the screen.js file and look for the following code:

/* Search Watermark */
var watermark = "search...";

Make your change to the “search…” string and because this is a javascript file you might need to do a full refresh with Ctrl+F5 in the browser because the js file might be in cache.

Email me if you have any problems with this.

Best regards

Unfortunately I can’t do anything about this, you need to contact ThemeForest directly because they are the ones who take care of sales and they might get you a refund for this item, although I can’t promise you that.

Hi, sorry but I’m not allowed to do that, you’ll have to explain the situation to ThemeForest support unfortunately :(

First of all, I am impressed at your speed in response to my issue with the watermark. I appreciate designers who understand how customers hate to wait days for a simple support question to be answered, so thanks for that. Also, you were right about doing a hard refresh for the browser to properly show the change. Once I did that, I saw the correct wording. I am going to buy the wp version of this soon, simply because this design incredibly hot and your support is super fast. Thanks again!

There is no rounded corners on IE?

I’m using IE 8 and all site looks so FLAT !!! :zipped:

unisphere

Hi, as stated in the Breeze HTML template description page:

Works in all major browsers (not IE 6 compatible and CSS3 features like rounded corners not supported by IE)

Unfortunately Internet Explorer does not support CSS3 features like rounded corners, box shadow, etc.

Any advice to get a workaround to this? :stress:

unisphere

Unfortunately no, Microsoft is adding CSS3 features only to IE9 so current and older versions of IE don’t support this. There are some js scripts that try to add these functionalitys to current versions of IE but are buggy and slow :(

Is is difficult to switch the font on the HTML version to something like Fertigo Pro or Museo instead of Sansation?

unisphere

Hi, not it’s not that difficult, you just need to generate a new Cufon Font script based on that new font and reference the new .js file in the template.

Hi! I just purchased your template a couple of days and have been very impressed with your high level of documentation and thoroughness in providing a complete site template. You are a very talented individual! Great work!

Now that I’ve had time to load everything on my server and begin the customization process, the first thing I have noticed is that comments can not be left for a blog post. I have read over all of the documentation and do not see a way to set up true blog functionality.

Now that I have looked at the code closer, it seems like the commenting feature, including comment submission, is just dummy code:

<!--BEGIN #form-section-actions--> <div class="form-section" id="form-section-actions"> <button name="submit" id="submit" type="submit" tabindex="7">Submit Comment</button> <!--END #form-section-actions--> </div>

Am I missing something here? I’m starting to think that blog posts can be made manually using your template, but comments can not be left by visitors. Is this true?

unisphere

Hi, the blog comments (and search) functionality are included in the theme to serve as placeholders for integration in custom Content Management Systems. These functionalitys require a server language so they not work with pure raw HTML , it’s just not possible, that’s why I also sell a Wordpress version here on ThemeForest.

I’m really sorry that you mistakenly bought the theme thinking it supported these dynamic features only present in server languages (php, asp, etc), I think ThemeForest should be more clear on this in the Site Templates category.

All in all, I provide these HTML templates for sale because I’ve had requests from buyers who liked the themes but they didn’t like Wordpress and wanted to integrate the design in their own CMS .

Hi again! I have another question and I believe your answer may benefit more than just me.

Your documentation doesn’t make it clear as to why one should use the HTML site template versus the PHP template. Both appear identical content wise.

I have figured out the one benefit of using the PHP version in that the header.php and footer.php files have to be changed just once and all other pages will then match the selected skin, menu, etc. The HTML version requires you to manually change the header and footer of each and every page, which can be labor intensive. Having said that, the one major drawback of the PHP version I’m seeing is that the menu always has the “Home” section set as the current page/view. In other words, since the header calls out the “Home” section to be <li class="current_page_item" />, no other page is ever highlighted in the menu as the current page.

Is my rationale correct? Is there anything else you can say about the differences between the PHP and HTML versions? Are both SEO friendly?

unisphere

Hi again, you are correct, both versions are practically identical, the only difference is the use of a shared header.php and footer.php so that when developing the site you won’t have to change the menu in every file.

I understand the menu highlight question and you are correct. I’ll try to come up with a dynamic JavaScript solution to automatically highlight the correct menu item based on the page you are at the moment. I’ll let you know as soon as possible.

Thanks for your responses. I sent you an e-mail with a couple of follow up questions. I do wish I knew about the lack of blog/commenting and search functionality before my purchase. I would have paid the extra $15 for the WP version. Would it be possible to use the HTML theme, install WP on my server, and somehow integrate it with my site to handle just the blog/commenting and search aspects of my site?

On a side note, there is a small bug I hope you can find a fix for. When loading the standard portfolio.html page, as soon as you select a sub-category of projects (like “Web Design”), the entire page shifts slightly to the right. When you go back to “All” projects, it shifts back to the left. This happens with your demo, as well. The same page shift occurs when you go from the “Home” page, for example, to the contact.php page. The “Contact” page shifts to the right. Other pages, like a full width page, shift back to the “default” left position when selected from the “Contact” page.

This may seem like a trivial issue, but it really bugs me and it makes my site look a bit less professional. Please let me know how this can be fixed. Thank you!

unisphere

Hi, using WP just for the blog of the site it’s possible although integrating this HTML template in Wordpress just for the blog is quite a bit of work (it took me 2 weeks full time to convert this HTML template to a Wordpress theme).

2) The bug you are referring to happens because for example in the portfolio when you open it with all items being displayed, you can see a scroolbar on the browser’s right edge, and when you filter a category, some content disappears which causes the scrollbar to disappear also. That’s why it’s causing that shift, it depends on the page’s content having a scrollbar or not.

Hi,

Great theme! Thank you!

Quick question: on the portfolio page, let us say I have 24 images in total divided into 4 categories. Is it possible to display only the first 6 to start with and then display the other when user clicks on the categories buttons?

The reason I ask this is that if my portfolio increases to 100 images or more the I will not have all images showing when page loads but only first 6. Then if user clicks on categories the related images will slide in.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Can you please help ?

Hi, also edit the css files base.css and screen.css and remove all occurrences of border-radius (border-radius, -moz-border-radius, -webkit-border-radius and -khtml-border-radius).

Will the template look OK if I disable the “cufon” option?

unisphere

Hi, the template will look OK but in my honest opinion it won’t look half as good as with Cufon on. The typography and visual hierarchy of Breeze’s design is better accomplished with the custom fonts.

Have u manage to update?

unisphere

Hi, I’m afraid not, I plan to revamp all my themes with the latest Breeze features starting in January. It may take a while though as I’m also considering building my own support forums for my themes, as well as release a new theme. If an update to Breeze HTML comes out it won’t be till the end of January I’m sorry.

Hello UNISPHERE , can you please help me to change the current font used on the site, the current font is SANSATION , and I want to customized the files using other type of font, Thank You very much.

Hi, in the provided documentation you get when you download the theme, there’s a section called “Changing the Cufon Font” that tells you the steps to get a different Cufon font working with the theme.
