Ha! Thanks kenspo!
Nicely done congrats!
Lotsa great new themes dropping this week. Exciting for you guys (devs) but really tough decisions for us looking to buy. ;]
Anyway, new to WordPress so please excuse if these are basic or obvious questions (I watched the vid but still want to know):
1) Does a page allow for multiple category filtering? For example can a page called “Design” display all the matching categories of “Animation”, “Illustration” and “Motion Graphics”?
2) Also, do the menus drop down at all? Or atleast allow for sub-menus. Again like above… can I have a menu titled “Design” with sub menus caontaining “Animation”, “Illustration” and “Motion Graphics”?
This may be a menu feature of the new WPress but like I mentioned I’m new to all this so appreciate your feedback.
Thanks,
Joe B.
Thanks for your interest!
1. Yup. You can display a “parent” category that contains all those “child” categories.
2. Yup, drop down menus are included with this theme using the WordPress menu system. You can also have unlimited menu items (the menu area will grow ).
Wonderful theme. One of the best here, IMO . Some quick questions from a picky user:
The side bar (big cross link), is that part of the theme? I got confused because it has theme settings, but then, the search is in there also. Had the same confusion with the bottom bar. Is that part of the theme?
I guess related to zbutcher5’s question: filtering with clickable links: You mentioned menu dropdowns, but I’m wondering if you are planning to also add clickable links on the page itself, with with which to filter a gallery by tags. (so items on the page fade out that don’t have the tag, the rest moves up). If you’re not planning on having that, do you think that’s difficult to incorporate?
I absolutely love your fluid layout. All pages reformat so well on a “small width” browser. It’s so rare to find that so beautifully executed. But there is one page that doesn’t reformat: the blog entry. (the full width page, doesn’t do it either, but that’s not as essential for me) Was wondering if you’re planning on making the blog entry fluid as well, or if there is an issue preventing that.
Just a quick remark on the side: in Chrome, the bottom bar is half overlaid by this browser link info text. That makes the copyright line unreadable any time the mouse hovers or clicks a link. If the text was align right, that would get rid of the problem.
Thanks for taking the time to answer questions! I appreciate it. Again, wonderful theme. I’m soooo picky, and your theme is soooo almost there for me.
Petra
Thanks so much. I appreciate your remarks!
The ”+” section is part of the theme. That is where all the WordPress widgets are stored. It’s controlled from the widgets page in WordPress.
The bottom bar is also part of the theme. You can control the social links and footer text from the theme options page.
I was bouncing around the idea of adding a filter option, but there are no immediate plans. Filters are a little tricky to implement, so unless you’re comfortable with jQuery, it might be an intensive project. Part of the reason I didn’t add a filter is because you can have links to all the different categories in the header (the header supports unlimited top-level links and drop-down menus).
The blog post page has a fluid images section. The actual text doesn’t expand, but that’s because it’s intended to have a bunch of photos on the right that do. Regarding the full width page, that is fluid.
Regarding the chrome link info, for the most part, the users eyes follow their mouse – unless they are inspecting the design of a WordPress theme
. So if they are hovering over a link, they are most likely looking at that link.
Thanks again for your interest!
Thanks themolitor for the infos!! Okay with the filters. The menu is a good alternative for that, that’s true. Works for me. Yea, you’re right also with the link thingy in the bottom bar. I’m just a detail freak.
Yes, the text page is fluid. I guess I just meant that the text could pop under the headline, as it does on the contact page. On the blog entry page, the fluid layout for me would make a blog post not just adapt to bigger, but also to smaller widths, like the layouts of the other pages do (I like consistency), maybe popping the image under the text, for example, making the entry higher and less wide. But okay, it’s not a major issue I guess.
Just watched your explanation video, that cleared up some things. Sorry for not seeing it before. Good one. Made me understand a lot.
Okay, just 1 burning question remains and then I’ll shut up !!
The video shows how users can switch between light and dark layout, and then add their own CSS . So I guess it is possible to change the background color or remove the pattern bg in the head? It is beautiful, don’t get me wrong here. Did I mention I am a detail freak? How would that happen exactly with editing styles? Do I edit the original CSS ? (I guess that really is a dumb question, so don’t laugh. You may want to feel pity for your fellow non-coding citizens, though)
Thanks again!
Petra
Ha, you’re cracking me up with your side comments
The pattern and color in the header is controlled via CSS , so you can either override it in the custom CSS section – I can provide instructions for that if you’re not sure how – or you can edit the core CSS file directly – I can provide instructions for that if you’re not sure how

Thanks!
I themolitor, thanks for your reply and the help offer.
Have bought the theme, installed MAMP and local wordpress, and am already a day into filling this beauty with content. Now that’s what I call a productive Saturday.
Your included help file is really a big help. I would need it to be a bit more detailed in some spots. I’ll head to your http://www.themolitor.com/forums/forum/brick-mason, should I stumble over any unsolvable questions. So far I’m doing okay.
Thanks for this wonderful theme and the service.
your happy customer Petra
Thanks for purchasing!
Please let me know if you have any questions and I’d be happy to help
Hello,
I am having a few troubleshooting issues. I am going to contact you on your homepage contact platform. I maybe interested in customizing this theme as well. Please contact me at your earliest convenience.
Thanks
Thanks for purchasing!
I responded to your email
Love your new icon!
Just want to give a general feedback on this theme. Have worked with it for several days now and can say that is an excellent, easy to use theme. Everything is well documented, the stylesheet is neat and organized, everything is easy to customize. (I only have basic CSS know how, so that is important to me).
I have a little problem with the endless scrolling (have posted it in the http://www.themolitor.com/forums ) Otherwise no problems.
This theme is well worth the price. I give it two thumbs up.
Petra
Thanks for the nice remarks! I’m glad you’re enjoying the theme!
I’ve responded to your forum post
Piggy backing on @Pictopedia Yes great theme, easy to use, and great design. Thanks for all your assistance. More importantly your quick responses are so appreciated.
5 Star Rating!!!
Yay! Thanks so much. I’m really glad you’re enjoying the theme
Hi there, great looking theme, a few questions: - is it possible to see the videos in the lightbox? - is it possible to add next and previous arrows in the lightbox? - does it support plugins ( like a contatc one)?
thanks a lot
Hi there,
It is possible to have videos open in lightbox. The theme uses PrettyPhoto to display pop-ups, so you have all the options available that they provide. More info: http://is.gd/bT81vM
All images on a single page have the next/prev buttons in lightbox. The main pages do not, but I can provide instructions to change that so they do.
Plugins are supported. I’m not aware of any conflicts, but not all plugins are created equal
Hi there,
Great theme…love it!!
Looking at potentially buying for a photographer friend that has a small portfolio and was curious if there were other options for home page?
Also, no title or info really for the images so possibly a fullscreen grid or slider images with thumbnails?? Just want to showcase the images without a description/title.
Cheers, P
Thanks for your interest!
Yup, you can turn off/on the title and excerpt separately. You can also have a fixed image grid layout or a standard page on the home page.
I’ve posted an expanded view of the admin panel. These are options available in addition to the normal WordPress options…
