You need to use javascript to pull tweets from Twitter’s API . I’m not much with javascript myself, so haven’t done it yet. But there seem to be a lot of tutorials around for that.
Great holding page, for anyone who is interested in a simple javascript for the countdown, it’s easily modified if you want to use JUST the day count down and not the phrasing surrounding it.

This is a great JavaScript. However, the source files is all flat png backgrounds that has a set width and height. So if you wanted to edit the area where there’s email and phone, or adding a short paragraph there or somewhere else, you won’t be able to. EVEN the hyphen is embedded in the flat background image. i bought it and did nothing with it.
The source files are layered Fireworks PNGs, so you can edit them using Adobe Fireworks. If you would like a PSD version, just send me a mail (my email id is in the help docs) or a message from my profile page at http://themeforest.net/user/abogawat/profile
