thank you!
Thanks Jonathan,
The XML import fails in part and I cannot get the slider to show up on the homepage when creating a new slider. Just want to rule out if these is due to a requirement being missed through the importer not fully executing?
I have just installed the latest Wordpress 3.3.2. Also it says ‘Options Framework’ does not work with your theme if that has any impact?
Thanks
Fraser
It sounds like you didn’t choose “admin” when you did your import as the documentation states. The options framework is a little different but I’m not sure why you are getting that, can you please contact me via the form on my profile page so I can get your FTP information and try to figure out what happened with your download.
Thanks
Still doesn’t work with “admin” or users with admin rights
You wish to have my domain FTP details?
Thanks
Sounds like you have an issue grabbing info from our server to yours – unfortunately FTP access will not help that. I would check with your host on why it will not allow your server to connect with an external server as it seems the only possible reason I’m afraid.
Jonathan
‘Options Framework’ does not work with your theme.
What impact will this have?
Thanks
Hi – you shouldn’t have options framework loaded for this theme – no doubt this will cause you a bunch of issues I’m afraid as option tree is bring to be your admin panel
No need for it on this theme.
Jonathan
I’m sorry – I believe between myself and my friendly support staff we have some crossed messages (my fault!) – yes please supply your ftp info via the contact form on my profile page so I can get someone to take a look and get you going.
Jonathan
Hi. I’ve bought the theme some minutes ago and downloaded it. I want to know… is there a user manual availabe??? Thanks…
Yes, inside your download will be a PDF for the help documentation.pdf.
Thanks
Hello, Thanks for creating such a wonderful theme. I am currently experiencing a rather jumpy slideshow. Can I send the link to you privately?
all the best, M
Thanks
Hi. Great theme. I’m working on it to build my website at http://tunegocioeninternet.net. But I have a problem now with the Nivo Slider on Homepage. I hope you can help me. I noticed that images for Slider are JPG with 960×400px size. However, I have uploaded my first image using the size 960×350px (it’s the size I want for my images). The problem is that the navigatin bar below the slider appears so far; it doesn’t happen in your demo. In that case the bar is very close and looks nice. How can I fix it??? PD. I usually use Firefox browser when I notice the problem. I’ve tried with last versions of Chrome, Opera, Safari and IE and in all of these cases the problem doesn’t appear. It seems to be happening only in my last version of Firefox. Any idea? Thanks.
Hi, you can easily modify things to accommodate for your different sized images – the best course of action would be to load up firebug in firefox (free download) and you can then select elements on the page to see their classes etc so you can make alterations to the style.css file while in the browser to make things look right and then commit the changes to the style sheet itself.
You were correct with the code in your other comment but you didn’t actually change it to 350px – you changed it to 50px
– I am looking at your page with firebug / firefox and can see your settings -
#slider .nivo-controlNav { float: right; position: relative; top: 350px; }line 2427 – everything looks good if you alter to the above
Many thanks
Jonathan
PS: About my last request about a problem with Nivo Slider, I don’t know too much about CSS but I modified the value “400” to “350” in this code of style.css file:
slider .nivo-controlNav { position:relative; top:400px; /* Put the nav below the slider */ float: right; }But it didn’t modify anything…
Hi Jonathan. Thanks a lot about your last and fast reply to my question about Nivo Slider. It is working OK now. I want to know if there is a .po file to translate the theme to my language. Or must I translate it file by file using the WordPress file editor??? Thanks…
you can try some plugins also – but no po files on this sorry – depends if you are talking about the front end or the admin area in all honesty.
jonathan
Hi. Thanks for your soon reply. I was talking about the front end, but if there’s not a .po file I’ll translate each text directly from the files. Your theme is really great, so I suggest you that in a next upgrade try to include a .po file. Now, I have other request. I’ve created my Contact Page at http://tunegocioeninternet.net/contacto-burana-pro/ and I have a little problem with the Send Button. It looks bad on Firefox, Chrome and Safari. The button appears over the text messagge. However it looks fine in Opera and IE. Can you help me to understand and fix this problem? Thanks…
Try to wrap the send button in a
tag – sometimes contact form 7 is a little weird on spacing – I’m pretty sure we show that in the documentation I think.
Many thanks
Jonathan
Hi,
The template is exactly what I need but your import file is not working. When I opened the xml file and manually checked the links they were all 404 errors. The latest wp is installed and I have followed the documentation completely. Please look into this.
Thanks
hmm – that’s strange. Did you try to import the xml file as per the instructions?
Make sure you are importing as admin also as per the instructions.
Thanks
Yes I have done both. Manually checking the urls have resulted in 404s as well.
If theres any access I can give you to help me get this set up asap please let me know
Could you please contact me via the profile page contact form – I am not sure how this happened but you are correct in the last update the xml import file is indeed incorrect and I apologize – we will be updating the download package today with the new XML file but I would rather get this small file to you personally as quickly as we can.
Here is a link to the form on the right
http://themeforest.net/user/jonathan01many thanks and sorry for the trouble.
— Jonathan
The download files have already been replaced by ThemeForest staff so everyone should be good now
Thanks for your patience in this error.
Jonathan
i’ve looked for documentation for these issues and haven’t seen anything, so hopefully you’re not reiterating yourself. i sent an email >1 week ago through the contact form on your portfolio page and i’ve received no reply.
here’s the page with the issues: http://www.megankeatley.com/zarr/creative-life/
1.) when there’s one comment, it says ‘1 comments’ 2.) when i select ‘mystery man’ or ‘blank’ under general > discussions, the gravatar logo icon still shows up. 3.) this isn’t an issue so much, but is there a quick css fix for the comment section? the comment section populates under the end of the sidebar, as opposed to when the post has ended. so if the post is short, the user has to scroll down a long way in order to post a comment.
thank you for your help.
Hi and thanks for your purchase. I never received an email so I’m not sure what happened there, but let me see if I can answer your questions here but would be much easier in an email as I could attach screenshots.
1.) You can edit the comments.php to change this if you’d like. we have a generic “comments” on there but we don’t check in the code to see if there is more than one or not, but this can be something that you do. You would have to remove the span class around the comments text and add in between the quotes for the number where it says 1 you would add the word comment after it and where it says 0 and % you would add comments after it.
2.) We actually don’t check the setting of gravatar first, we just call it in under the functions.php file (function name is mytheme_comment). So you could add a php line in there to check first or just remove the call for the echo get_avatar.
3.) You would need to edit single.php to move the comments_template (); php call above the closing div for the left content but I would imagine some css styling changes would be needed.
Hope that helps.
Thanks
fixed. very easy. thank you so much.
Hi Jonathan, first of all, i really like your design style. I bought your theme but i have some problems with it
. Please give me a hand…
1. When you click in the main image of a portfolio item, it says this popup message: “Image cannot be loaded. Make sure the path is correct and image exist.” This message appears even in your demo…
2. This is not a problem, but i need to change the behavior of the thumbnails in the homepage (the five ones below the slider). When you click them, it pops up the prettyphoto viewer, but i need to just link them to their corresponding post.
THANK YOU !
Hi and thanks for the purchase
1. if your images don’t load then it sounds like you did not link to the full size image as per the directions. I would check that – we had 2 images not linking correctly on the demo because we moved the dev files and I just simply fixed by altering the url to the large image which you get from the media library as detailed in the instructions.
2. You will need to alter the function of the loop in the home page template to remove the call to the large image in a lightbox and loop thru to the actual post. You would do this by editing the home page template and the loops for those areas.
Hope that helps
Jonathan
Thanks for your quick answer. I will check what you said about my Q1, and about my Q2, can you provide me the line that i have to add in the homepage template to link to the posts?, i just manage how to remove the prettyphoto thing, but i don’t know how to do the rest… please, i know i’m asking a little bit more, but for you is so much easier than for me. Thanks in advance!
You mean the portfolio thumbnails under the slider, correct?
Yes, if you already removed the rel tag that opens in light box your links should look like this:
<a href="<?php the_permalink; ?>" title="<?php the_title(); ?>"><?php echo remove_wp_width_height(get_the_post_thumbnail(get_the_ID(),'thumbnail')); ?></a>Hope that helps! thanks
it almost worked!, but it links to the homepage itself, not to their corresponding portfolio item… thanks men, i really appreciate your help
We’re talking about the same thing correct? You wanted to change the 5 thumbnails under the slider from opening in a light box to linking through to the respective post content?
Could you send me a link please?
Thanks
yes, we´re talking about the same thing… the site is http://www.spill.cl , i only changed the first thumbnail code, for now is linking to homepage, not to the post (i used the code you provided me). The whole 58 line (the one for the first item) in the template-home.php is:
” title=”< ?php the_title(); ?>”>< ?php echo remove_wp_width_height(get_the_post_thumbnail(get_the_ID(),’thumbnail’)); ?>
THX !
edit: i don’t know how to put code in here… it doesn’t show right…
It looks like it’s not picking up your href. Maybe an extra closing bracket or a missing one because your link is showing as this:
<a title="Chile Bajo El Imperio De Los Inkas" href=""> </a>See how the href=”” is blank?
If you want to contact me via my profile page and supply your ftp details I can have my programmer take a look for you and get this sorted.
Thanks
Hi. I’ve created the Contact Page of my site at tunegocioeninternet.net/contacto-burana-pro. I have 2 little problems there:
The first is that the space between the navigation menu and the title of the page is too big. Where must I modify the code to make it shorter?
The second is that I installed the Twitter Widget directly form Twitter Resources, but as you can see the “user name” and the “account name” looks very bad. User name doesn’t appear and Account name looks very big. I suppose it is a conflict with the style.css file of the theme.
Can you help me to fix those problems? Thanks a lot!!!
PS. After some minutes I keep searching for a solution, and I notice that I can’t read anything in the Twitter Widget. However, during the creation in the Twitter Page it looks fine.
Hi and thanks for your purchase. To fix the menu issue, you need to open up style.css and change the margin-top from 8px to whatever you wish on the class of top_menu.
As for the Twitter widget, unfortunately that is a 3rd party plugin and is out of our control. We did provide a twitter feed with the theme that is styled to match in with the theme better
Thanks
It seems you didnt’ understand my first request. Modifying the class of top_menu from 8px to wathever I wish gets more or less spacing between the logo and the menu. But I don’t want to change that option. What I want to change is the VERY BIG space between the menu and the title of the page at tunegocioeninternet.net/contacto-burana-pro. About the second request, it’s true, you provide a twitter feed in the homepage, but there’s no a widget included to put twitter feed in sidebars. How can I get that at least???
I apologize, for that same class that I mentioned “top_menu” just adjust the height on that container.
Thanks
Hi Jonathan,
I have some problems with portfolio grid. It makes some quite weird things: http://thestrategiclab.es/servicios Appears spaces where it shouldn’t appear.
Thanks!
Hi and first thank you for the purchase – the reason for the misplacement is because we have it bringing in “x” number of words for the descriptions expecting that people would have a decent amount of copy – if that happens then everything lines up correctly. The reason you have issues is because some descriptions are very small and we end up with “gaps” – it’s an easy fix however – open style.css and edit line number 1793 and add:
min-height: 350px;This will stop your divs stacking and sort out your issue
Many thanks
Jonathan
Hi Jonathan,
I’ve just tried and nothing has happened:
.image-grid.grid li min-height: 350px; margin-bottom: 25px; }
I tried it using firebug on your site and it works perfectly. Looks like you put it on the wrong line or added more css since I just looked at it 2 mins ago
– you are adding to the wrong class – at the time 1793 was the correct line from your style sheet – now it is 1814 – class is .grid li as it’s a list item in the grid div.
Also looking at it, you may want to increase that 350px to 370px just to be very safe
Many thanks
Jonathan
I’m sorry! Anyway, I’ve just recovered the first version without modifications…So, I have to change the line 1793 and add:
min-height: 350px;
I feel lost….
simply open the style.css – then look for the class I gave you and add the single line I gave you and re-save.
That’s really it.
Hope that helps
Jonathan
Hi How do I show entire post in the blog? Thanks
Hi and thank you for your purchase. Just open up index.php and change out the number that’s in the brackets beside call to echo content(45).
Thanks
awesome! thanks.
Hi. I can’t find in the user manual the way to create a “Blog Page” as I can see it in your demo at mythemepreviews.com/bruan/blog-pages? When I create a new Page, I find Contact, Portfolios, Sitemap, etc. but nothing about “Blog”. I hope you can help me. Thanks…
Hi and thanks for your purchase. The blog page template is set for you by WordPress – it uses index.php. All you have to do is navigate to Settings / Reading and set your static pages for home and blog and it will know to use index.php (which is a right sidebar page).
Hope that helps.
Thanks. It was very easy.
Hi. When I type a URL in a post or page, I usually do it applying or tags. However, in this theme I get the font the URL in a normal style, not in bold style as I want. Where in the style.css file must I do the change??? Thanks…
Hi – to create bold text you either click the bold B in wordpress wysiwyg editor as you always would in wordpress or if using the html editor wrap your text in the html bold tag or use the already formatted short code supplied in the editor for intro text – your choice.
Many thanks
Jonathan
Excuse me. My last message was not clear because I wrote bad a tag to bold the text. My request is this: In a post or page I apply “Bold” format when I write an URL , but when the post is published it dissapears and the URL appears as normal text. I want to know how can I get to keep the bold format. I suppose it must be a change to do in the style.css file. Thanks…
all a links are style in the theme yes – if you want to change the styling simply edit the style.css and change or add font-weight: bold; – that will get you automatic bold status for a links.
Many thanks
Jonathan
