Hi – Really enjoying working with this great theme!

Q. The profile pic crop function seems to be broken. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

GhostPool

Love the theme, however, how may I make my page display less than five posts? Right now I’m using the posts short code in a static page. The Reading settings wouldn’t help me either. I’d like it to display three so that the page fits together a little better. See my site at NimbleDigital.com if you’d like for what I’m talking about. Thanks! (:

Hi, really like the look of your theme. I have a quick question I was hoping you could help me with… I want to have a community aspect, so buddypress is great, however can buddypress users upload photos or have a gallery?

GhostPool

Hi there,

This would need to done by using a BuddyPress plugin, I believe I few offer what you’re looking for such as http://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-gallery/

When the layout is left and right sidebar the main activity comes first in a small screen

when there is only a right sidebar the main activity comes first in a small screen

but when there is only a left sidebar the left sidebar content comes first in a small screen

is there anyway to fix this?

Hi, I had a wordpress website , I want to integrate your product , Can it support through easy method?

GhostPool

Hi there,

I’m not sure what you mean? It sounds like you’re not that familiar with WordPress and WordPress themes, is this correct?

Buddy is a WordPress that can simply be uploaded to an existing WordPress installation just like any other WordPress theme.

Thanks for your previous reply, do you have any screenshot of the users dashboard when they are creating a post? Is this integrated into the theme or does it direct them to the wordpress admin?

Thanks

GhostPool

The user dashboard is the same dashboard that comes with any WordPress theme. Screenshots are provided of the interface on the item page (click the Screenshots button).

About to purchase this theme… quick question though: Should I install Buddypress before or after uploading the theme?

Thanks!

Hi there,

It doesn’t really matter, but it would probably be easier if you install BuddyPress afterwards.

Is it Magento compatible? Can I integrate into Magento?

GhostPool

Hi there,

It is not compatible with Magento, this is only a WordPress theme.

Hi, I’ve noticed when creating a slide, in the slide settings, when you specify the link type to “none” it still attempts to link to something resulting in an error. To get around this I simply input the link to the jpg I’m using in the slide. Look forward to a fix, thanks!

Loving the theme thus far! The only change I’m hoping can be made… Is there a way to put a patterned/image as the header instead of a just a plain color? You would be a life-saver!!

Thanks,

Cortney

Quick question, on the demo there is a community stats part on the right hand side? how do you get this?

Help please, how to maintain the color of the active button in the menu bar? For the moment, we can not recognize the active button, because the color does not stay active, once clicked.

A few small issues and concerns before I consider purchasing:

First, the group admins and group mods on mobile phones are not successfully responsive. They end up chopped in half over to the top right side of the group, above the group avatar.

Second, when you go to a member page, the profile links and sub-links get separated into two uneven lines. This is clearly an aesthetics thing, but it’s quite unprofessional looking. Is there a way for you, or myself, to somehow avoid this by using images instead of words, or at least somehow make the spaced evenly as opposed to scattered?

Finally, and maybe most importantly, you clearly did a great job focusing on the responsive end of things to make sure things worked smoothly, but I’m wondering if you either have any plans to add a more typical landing page, or if you can describe a simple way to use a static responsive landing page, say one purchased here on Themeforest, in conjunction with your theme.

Really, the above mentioned are the only things I’ve noticed thus far that keep this from being perfect for my project. Other than that, possibly cleanest implementation of a responsive Buddypress theme to date.

GhostPool

Hi there,

I will have a fix for the group admin/mods being cut off on mobile displays shortly. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. :)

^Adding to The Above^

See Social Buddy, and somewhat Razor for examples of more organized looking profile links/sub-links for the mobile phone view. I think it would be a great final touch, of course with your own look and feel, maybe colored, rounded bubbles that span a large majority of the width, with the number bubbles right justified and links left justified. Of course, just a suggestion, but could very well be one that keeps me from taking the plunge just yet. I put my project on hold for over a year waiting for the ideal responsive theme, I even own your previous Bounce.

GhostPool

The reason this was not done was to save space and avoid the links taking up a large portion of the screen. This can easily be changed with CSS which I can show you if you decide to purchase the theme. :)

Another bug found, and since I’m still deciding in purchasing, figured I should still let you know so you can get them taken care of. The search buttons styling breaks on iOS and defaults to an entirely different (default?) styling from the theme. No other buttons, just all of the search buttons.

GhostPool

I’m aware of this issue and this fix has already been incorporated into the next update. :)

i think im gonna buy it^^

what about customization ? Can i customize everything myself? :)

Like is the the html & php readable with infos where you can find the stuff? And if i cant find something, wehre can i ask for it?

GhostPool

Hi there,

The theme comes with a number of settings to customize the colours and layout of the theme.

The HTML and PHP is readable, and heavily commented so you know what everything is. I can certainly help you find things in files and for more advanced customizations you can hire my developer. :)

hi there,

i quite like this theme as i intend to setup a buddypress+woocommerce site.

was wondering if woocommerce really supported as i dont see in your demo :)

also in the homepage if i wish to display latest post (news) instead of all the buddypress stuff is it possible?

thanks

GhostPool

WooCommerce comes with it’s own stylesheet which is what The Gossip uses. It does not style the WooCommerce plugin itself – this would essentially make it a WooCommerce theme. The WooCommerce styling is very good at blending in with existing themes and this is the case with The Gossip.

Default-user

ok so you saying even tho the woocommerce is not specifically styled by this buddy theme of yours, it still look decent. i actually like your support response so far. its very timely and even tho i initially tilting to milkmag theme. i think i m going with you :) i hope your team can maybe spend some time to just make woocommerce styling so that it looks perfect together :) thanks!

GhostPool

Yes that is what I am saying. :)

Is it possible to add Layer Slider plug in, I’d like it to display on the front page?

Thanks

GhostPool

Hi there,

I don’t see why not, but it may need to style it so it “looks good” in the theme.

Default-user

thanks for the reply, it doesn’t have to be Layer Slider, it’s just that I would prefer a slider for my project rather than a fixed image.

GhostPool

The theme already comes with the FlexSlider which is displayed on the homepage on the demo.

Great job on this theme, I am suprised to see how few people purchased it. Had a testdrive and saw some little styling flaws, but overall a really great accomplisment.

GhostPool

Hi there,

It’s selling reasonably well considering it’s only been up since November. If you find any styling bugs post a support ticket at http://ghostpool.ticksy.com and I’ll have them fixed in future updates.

Well, I recommend it for every single Wordpress-fanatic who want to work with Buddypress. Installation was easy, setting up the components (sorry, ex Joomla user) was done within minutes and every plugin I tried worked out of the box and that is something that was a pain in the #*@ at other themes.

Really great job on this theme, pretty easy to customise by the way.

GhostPool

Thanks lastpost. :)
