Version 2.5 is now available with bug fixes and new functionality:

  1. New dashboard panel to notify you of any updates
  2. Auto-rotate is now an option for the homepage gallery
  3. A few more IE bugs squashed, we should be good now
  4. Contact Form 7 styling now included for easy contact form setup

Forgive my ignorance, but I installed this latest version, and clicked on the auto-rotate. Its not autorotating, and none of the home gallery functions work anymore.

Mouse overs, next, nothing.

I have a feeling it’s conflicting with your Event Calendar plugin, I’m seeing this in the code:

ecd.jq = jQuery.noConflict(false);

And we have:

var $ = jQuery.noConflict(false);

I’m going to fix this quick issue and send in another update immediately, thanks for pointing this out so soon.

Question: adding a sidebar to the front page. I know there is a text section set aside in the BPP Admin, but is there a way to add any sidebar location below or above that for the front page?

Right now, the homepage isn’t a widget-ready section of the site, just the internal sidebar is. If you’d like me to add this functionality for a fee, let me know.

How do we remove the categories from the menu. I know its as easy as removing or blocking some code.

What and where is this done.

Posted 4 months ago
Author

jscheetz jscheetzreplied

If you’re talking about the top menu, you need to comment out the wp_list_categories() function from footer.php

Can anyone point me in the right direction about how to remove the category names from the menu.

Hi jscheetz,

is there (simple) way to to transform the top-navigation to vertical one for sidebar, keeping all the functionality?

Posted 4 months ago
Author

jscheetz jscheetzreplied

Not without some knowledge of html/css. If you have this, you can remove the main name from footer.php, move up the content to make it flush with the top of the browser (in the css file), and then simply add:

<ul><? wp_list_pages() ?></ul>

to the sidebar.php file.

Love this theme.

Quick question.

Is there a simple way ( can a functional idiot) change the “latest news” section of the home page to a text area where I can give a company description, product description or some other relevant information?

Thanks

Kevin

Technically, you could simply remove the code that pulls the latest news, change the “Latest News” text to something else and then just add a few

(paragraphs) to create your content area.

Justin, Great theme. It’s working very well for me. One little issue I can’t solve. I am getting this message on the homepage: “NOTE TO ADMIN : You don’t have any posts in your “Blog” categories” and yet I have two posts. The photos are displaying in the slide and you can click and go to those posts to read them, but the drop down from the Nav takes you to pages with empty photos and no content. Can you help me solve the problem? ~ Katrina The web address is: http://pinedesert.alpineclients.com/

@sunweather: i have the same problem, except mine won’t even display the images. and i don’t even have a “blog” category. maybe some of the other purchasers can let us know how they fixed it if they’ve had the same problem, while we wait for a response from jscheetz. i’m at finasol.icebur.com.

@sunweather: I think I figured out why that note to admin comes out. It seems kinda obvious once I got it! Basically, BPP has two classifications for all categories you create. It will either be a blog-category or gallery-category and by default every category you create is associated as a gallery-category. A gallery-category post that you select as featured will appear in the rotating homepage gallery. A blog-category post will show as a blog article in the content area.

So in order for that notice to go away, you need to 1) publish a post on your site and 2) make sure you associate the post to a category that is selected as a blog-category in the ‘BPP Admin > Category Settings’ section.

That said, my pictures aren’t showing up in the homepage gallery. If anyone out there has found a solution for this, I would greatly appreciate your input. I can be reached at gideon625 at gmail dot com if you would rather not post here.

I am using this template for a new site I am putting together and everything seems to be working as advertise with the exception of the gallery style pages thumbnail square images. Am I missing a step? Do I have to tell the system where that image is? In the descriptive text it seemed like the JQuery was taking care of that automatically…...

The site I am working on right now is here: http://trustnbb.com/nardellibuilders/

And the page I am having problems with is here: http://trustnbb.com/nardellibuilders/category/recent-projects

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

As a further update to my previous post (see directly above for details) I get this error when I go into the code and trace the image processing code for the thumbnail that the system is supposed to create from the image for the gallery style portfolio page I get this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imageconvolution() in /home/content/d/a/n/dannardelli/html/nardellibuilders/wp-content/themes/bpp/bpp/image.php on line 324

I really don’t know much about Javascript any ideas on how I can repair this?

Thanks,

Matt

You’ll get this error when you don’t have PHP5 + installed on your server. PHP5 is required for this theme to work properly (the image resizing).

Submitted ticket to your support site 10 days ago but I haven’t gotten a response back.

If I want several articles featured in the rotating banner homepage, how can I set them in a particular order? Couldn’t find anything in the documentation page for this.

Your help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner. You just need to change the post date on those featured articles, and they’ll rearrange themselves from newest to oldest.

Hello,

Just purchased theme… very well done!

I have to questions.

1. Is it possible to place the menu below the header? If so how?

2. I’m having a hard time figuring out how to revise the text in the footer. I want to put copyright and remove the Powered by Wordpress.

Thanks alot!

1. Yep, but it requires some CSS adjustments. Open ”/css/main.css” and change the following:

Line 6: Change the “38px” in the “background” string to “0” (zero)

Line 37: Change the “top:0;” to “top:134px;”

Line 95: Get rid of this class all together, it should remove that top margin.

Line 101: Add “margin-bottom:68px;”

2. The text in the footer can be changed by opening “footer.php” and just simply editing it. :)
