Beautifully and awesome work, good luck dude!

ThemeIsland

Thanks Vicky! I’m really proud of this one :) It’s been two months in the making. I wanted this to be an amazing theme no matter what it’s used for. It’s totally versatile and packed with helpful tools.

Thanks again for the feedback.

Charlie

Thanks Vicky!

Looking forward to buy it. Just one query. What is student login feature is all about? does it work?

ThemeIsland

Hi Ravinkapadia!

Thanks for the question! The student login feature that you are referring to is also refereed to as the flag dropdown area.

These are the run down for this section: 01 – The flag triggers a show/hide for this additional area, 02 – this area is composed of widgets set in Appearance > Widgets, 03/04 – you can set how many columns that you would like and upload your own flag or promotional banner in Appearance > Theme Options > Header Options.

From there you can add your own widgets including a login widget (there are several free ones out there) if that what you are looking for. Right now we have it linking out to blackboard which is a 3rd party site for schools using this service.

You can actually add any widgets in this area from static information to a contact form. Were just showing an example based on relevant material that schools use.

Let me know if that helps with your question!

Cheers! Charlie

Awesome work! ;)

ThemeIsland

Thanks Louie! Nice work on Homeland also!

Is there any demo content for this theme? It looks fantastic, so I would like to use similar look for my website.

ThemeIsland

Hi AlmaBolsnic!

Yep, the demo comes with demo content and a step by step PDF guide on how to copy the demo exactly in the complete download package.

We also accept any questions that you come across while working with the theme at our dedicated support forum: http://themeisland.ticksy.com/

Cheers! Charlie

This theme has some great features, but I wonder if it is possible to change the navigation layout.

ThemeIsland

Hi jdiazyo!

First off I would like to say thank you for considering Campus for your next project. I am happy to help if this is a minor customization, but you’ll need to file a ticket at our support forum (http://themeisland.ticksy.com/) with the following elements so that I can give you some specific thoughts and help: description of your endgoal for the navigation and the surrounding elements, screenshot of an example layout, link to an example layout, link to your site, and a temp login to your site filed as a private ticket or response.

Changing the navigation layout leaves several additional questions about other elements around the navigation – so having a complete picture of what you are trying to do will help when it comes to offering thoughts and help.

The theme does come with a “Header Layout” option, and for this theme the header layout option will align the Logo “Left, Center, or Right,” but the navigation is core to the styling of this theme so we left this alone.

Again I am always happy to help if I can, and although our support policy only covers questions, bugs and simple modifications, I am happy to take a look at this for you. If you are looking for something more specific or need more help than I can provide I may need to refer you to a freelancer that can help you with the specifics: http://www.microlancer.com/ and search something like “Navigation Bar Design.”

Cheers! Charlie

This theme is awesome! Just need to know how do you modify the amount of widgets in the footer?

ThemeIsland

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the question! Are you referring to the number of footer columns? The footer area can take as many widgets as you add to it, but it comes stock with four footer widget areas/columns. I’m considering adding this in as a featured request, but in the mean time the easiest way to do this is to modify the footer.php file. How many footer columns/widget areas are you looking to have? I’d be happy to send you a snippet that you can swap out to customize this.

Cheers! Charlie

Default-user

Thanks for the prompt reply. I am looking at having only 3 widget there.

Thanks in advance for your help

ThemeIsland
Sure! This is a simple copy/replace. Open footer.php and replace this section:
<!-- footer -->
<footer>
    <div class="sixteen columns" id="footer-row">
        <br />
        <div class="four columns alpha">
        <?php if ( !function_exists( 'dynamic_sidebar' ) || !dynamic_sidebar('footer-widget-1') ) ?>
        </div>
        <div class="four columns">
        <?php if ( !function_exists( 'dynamic_sidebar' ) || !dynamic_sidebar('footer-widget-2') ) ?>
        </div>
        <div class="four columns">
        <?php if ( !function_exists( 'dynamic_sidebar' ) || !dynamic_sidebar('footer-widget-3') ) ?>
        </div>
        <div class="four columns omega">
        <?php if ( !function_exists( 'dynamic_sidebar' ) || !dynamic_sidebar('footer-widget-4') ) ?>
        </div>
        <br />
    </div>
</footer>
<!-- /End Footer -->
With this:
<!-- footer -->
<footer>
    <div class="sixteen columns" id="footer-row">
        <br />
        <div class="one-third column alpha">
        <?php if ( !function_exists( 'dynamic_sidebar' ) || !dynamic_sidebar('footer-widget-1') ) ?>
        </div>
        <div class="one-third column">
        <?php if ( !function_exists( 'dynamic_sidebar' ) || !dynamic_sidebar('footer-widget-2') ) ?>
        </div>
        <div class="one-third column omega">
        <?php if ( !function_exists( 'dynamic_sidebar' ) || !dynamic_sidebar('footer-widget-3') ) ?>
        </div>
        <br />
    </div>
</footer>
<!-- /End Footer -->
Notice, that all we are doing here is removing the Footer-Widget-4 (from the front end) and re-allocating the remaining columns to the other three widget areas. This won’t remove the Footer Column 4 from Appearance > Widgets so make sure remove any widgets that you might have in this section. You can also remove the Footer Column 4 from functions.php but we generally don’t recommend opening that file unless you are sure you know what you are doing.

Let me know if that helps! Charlie

(note: For new users and others that might be reading this, this is only a recommendation/information provided based on this request. This is not covered by our support policy. With that said, if you need some help, please let us know and we’d be glad to help with what we can. Also, please make sure to backup any necessary files prior to working in any of the core theme files)

Hi, can i change the full color style ? The blue and Yellow Color, for Red and White for example ? Thanx

ThemeIsland

Hi Axav!

Yep, you can do this in the Appearance > Theme Options > Skin Builder: http://imgur.com/32VnYwo

please i didn’t find any html files as you said in the ThemeForest Files Included

i need the theme in html file format ??

ThemeIsland

Hi Ahmed,

I apologize about the misunderstanding. The Campus | Premium Multipurpose WordPress Theme comes with a lot of stuff, but it does not include a full HTML version of the theme. I do see that the documentation mentions HTML files, but this is not in regards to the full HTML version of the theme. I’ve updated the documentation to clarify any ambiguity as to the extent of what is included so this doesn’t happen for anyone else.

If you feel you have purchased this item and cannot use it, you can always request a refund over at http://support.envato.com

With that said, the WordPress version is really powerful and I am happy to answer any questions when it comes to setting up the theme and using the features that come with it. Again, I apologize and I am here to help if you choose to use it.

If you have any other questions or feedback, please let us know at our dedicated support forum: http://themeisland.ticksy.com/

Cheers! Charlie

I am very interested in purchasing this theme for a non-profit art center that teaches art classes. Is there a plug-in that would work for this team so that people can: 1. Become a paid member 2. Register for a specific course (kind of like this theme: http://themeforest.net/item/academy-learning-management-theme/full_screen_preview/4169073) 3. Students can pay online for classes

I purchased the Academy theme already, but have found the backend extremely difficult to customize. Your theme looks more versatile, but I need to be able to do the 3 things above. :)

ThemeIsland

Hi ChanelRene,

Great questions! The Campus theme comes with a lot of great stuff, and we spent months on framework (deciding what is a must, how options should function, and keeping it as simple as possible while offering all of the powerful tools that we use.) It is ready for any integration you might want to include, but does not come stock with membership management. We spent some time on this and with a lot of discussion decided to leave this one out for various reasons.

We have a lot of respect for themex, though, and hopefully if you have already purchased their theme they can help you out with the options they include.

I can’t speak on behalf of the Academy theme, but based on your situation it sounds like the WPMU Membership plugin might be a tool that you want to checkout/consider: http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/membership/

If you choose to purchase Campus, we are hear to help with the options and functionality included in the theme to get you setup. Integrating and managing third party code is beyond our scope of support, but the guys and gals at WPMU should be able to help you with their plugin.

Finally, you can always hire a freelancer to handle the integration of an extra feature once you get your site look how you would like. You can start with http://microlancer.com/ or ask the theme author if they would like to bid on the project.

Hope that helps and good luck with the art center project!

Charlie

Hello, I am trying to add a custom css class on a page I created, but cannot figure out how to do it. For example, I want to change the H2 size for the caption on single images, and tried this in the custom css box: H2.wpb_heading.wpb_singleimage_heading {font-size: 1.5rem;}

What is the correct css entry to reduce the font size or do any other customizing for a page? Thanks.

ThemeIsland

Hi Annie,

Thanks for the question. You can do this with a custom class and isolate this to a specific page, but generally some simple CSS should cover this unless you are trying to maintain the theme styles across the site and want to tryout this new custom class/styling based on a row or module.

I’d be happy to help out with this. The best place for us to share information like links, images, and private content is over at our dedicated support forum: http://themeisland.ticksy.com/ Please file this as a ticket over there if you would like some additional help.

I’ll just need 01: a link to the element in question, 02: a screenshot of the element to confirm that we are talking about the same element, and 03: an endgoal for this element (which sounds like decreasing the font size).

Cheers! Charlie

Hi!, great theme!, I’m looking for a next project,...but about the languages, it’s compatible with qtranslate plugin or WPML? thanks in advance!!!

ThemeIsland

Hi Sonhiha,

Our official translation FAQ can be found here: http://themeisland.ticksy.com/faq/742 I also have had users finding success with the Transposh: http://wordpress.org/plugins/transposh-translation-filter-for-wordpress/

Cheers! Charlie

I would like to use this theme integrated with WP Woo Commerce and Job Manager for tutors to post your profile and hire students.

Is it possible?

ThemeIsland

Hi Leopisani,

Thanks for the question. The theme comes with the most recent and up to date code recommended by WordPress and ThemeForest, but does not come with Woo Commerce or Job Manager pre-integrated. You are more than welcome to integrate either of these third party plugins/code but this will be up to you. We have had several users report back their success with integrating Woo Commerce and other similar third party code. If you need some specific help with the integration process we recommend touching base with a freelancer to get this setup to your specifications. You might also try the Microlancer site if you don’t have a freelancer that you prefer: http://www.microlancer.com/

Cheers! Charlie

Hi, I do not have the drag and drop functionality in the admin for the Campus theme. Is there something missing or that wasn’t installed when the theme was uploaded to our server? I would like to be able to insert a button in the same row as some text, and have been staring at this for about 2 hours. It doesn’t seem to be something I can do, similar to the home page row with the yellow button on the left in your theme example. Could you please assist? Thanks!

Default-user

I meant the yellow button is on the right on the Campus theme home page (row with blue background under the home page slider).

Default-user

One other question: there aren’t any built-in contact forms for this theme, but the Contact Us page on your template example states there is.

ThemeIsland

Hi Annieflanagan,

I am sorry to hear that you ran into issues. If you are still having issues and need some help troubleshooting, please file this as a private ticket over at http://themeisland.ticksy.com/ and include a login so that we can take a look at this for you.

Thanks, Charlie

Hi. I was wondering how I could go about overriding the CSS for the navigation menu, and replacing it with my own? Thanks.

ThemeIsland

Thanks for the question. There are a couple methods to consider here.

01 – Theme Options: There are options within the theme (Appearance > Theme Options > Skin Builder) that are linked to menu styles including: Primary color, secondary color, navigation color (or navigation image if you prefer a pattern), and Font Color options. We recommend starting with these since they cover the majority of user styles requested and are what the theme comes with.

02 – Custom CSS: If there are some additional modifications that you would like to do, we recommend adding your Custom Stylings/CSS to Appearance > Theme Options > Custom CSS panel. Styles here not only are read last in the cascade (thus overriding existing styles with similar point values), it also gives you a single place to go to backup your styles. This will also survive a theme update (backing up just in case though) if you run into needing one since updating a theme will override any core file changes that you might have made (see 03). This is beyond our support policy since we can’t help with customizations, but we understand that many users will want to alter this theme so we include this for that reason. If you run into something basic that you still need help with, we have a couple videos on the basics of using Firebug (http://www.youtube.com/makedesignnotwar) to customize CSS and you can also file a ticket at our support forum (http://themeisland.ticksy.com/) although customizations are provided as a courtesy and not required by our support policy (but we love to help if we can).

03 – Modifying Core Files: Finally, you can modify some of the core files: header.php and element-navigation.php for layout, theme.css and styles.css for general stylings, and the superfish js files for the interaction. But we cannot help with this or if you run into issues since this will void our support policy.

Hope that helps!

Hello, i love your theme, im trying to understand it and am working on installing it. I have a quick question: How do i edit or add a new banner image on pages, The banner on the pages (the main wide image at the top of the page) ?

Example: http://campus.themeisland.net/sample-page/front-page-layout-builder/custom-image-custom-height/

The girl in the blue dress image?

How can we get the site PSD or the images ?

ThemeIsland

Hi Samfolder,

The theme does come with a Flag PSD to help with this custom element, but because we designed the site from code I unfortunately don’t have a full site PSD on hand to offer you. I am considering releasing a full site PSD for the Campus theme but I don’t have a definite date on when this will be released. The images (used in the demo) are included with as demo content. If you need some links to license some of these images for you own project I am happy to send you over those links. Just shoot me a ticket at our support forum so that I can provide the purchase links that we used for the demo content images.

Cheers! Charlie

Hi, I am heavily considering this theme for our private academy’s new website. I saw that you were going to be integrating in events calendar pro into the theme. Any idea on when that would happen?

Also I noticed on your external support site, you mentioned that you would only be supporting themes released in the last 6 months. From my understanding this theme was released recently, but it doesnt seem to be included in the list of themes you would continue to support. Can you talk more about this themes level of support?

Thanks.

ThemeIsland

Hi Tranto,

Thanks for waiting for us to get back into the office after our holiday.

Some Background on ThemeIsland Support:

First, we love to help. So if you have an issue, run into a question, or just get stuck, feel free to ask and we will do our best to help out. I answer ever (and I mean every) support question that comes into the ThemeIsland support forum (themeisland.ticksy.com). Go ahead and look ;) Some are theme questions, some are basic WP questions and they just so happen to be using our theme, and some are complex customization questions. We can’t officially provide support on customizations that are not included in the theme for various reasons, but we do love to help even with these if it’s reasonable and we have some extra time.

Second, we use 6 months as a time frame since this is where the vast majority of patches, feature additions, and bugfixes are discovered. After that, the themes are considered stable and there should be little need for support. With that said, if you run into an issue or bug we want to know about it so that we can fully support our products, even if it’s older than 6 months.

Finally, we’ll naturally release patches for all of our themes (including one’s older than 6 months) as it becomes necessary (for instance, if a new version of WordPress comes out and a patch is necessary to ensure the theme is stable on the new version).

I am not sure what list you are referring to in regards to what we are and are not supporting, but I can tell you that Campus will be supported if you run into any bugs along the way :)

I hope that helps to clarify a bit. If you or anyone else needs some follow up on this, I’d be happy to give it. We want our stuff to look great and work great, and we believe that your feedback is essential.

As for the Event Calender PRO integration, this was a feature request that I had to table until the new year while we get our first eCommerce theme out. I’ll take another look at this if you can provide some information on why Campus should have this feature and how it benefits the majority of people using this theme ;)

Cheers! Charlie

Default-user

Hi Charlie,

Regarding what you are officially supporting, I am referring to the list of themes you mentioned here http://makedesign.ticksy.com/ in the first sentence of the third paragraph. It concerned me that this theme was not included in the list even though it was recently released.

As for the event calendar pro integration, there are many includes, including the one that I am building the site for, that holds events for students, parents, prospective parents and others. They also hold after school classes that they would like students to sign up for. I’m sure there are schools that are similar and hold events for many different groups of people.

Thanks.

ThemeIsland

Hi Tranto,

Thanks for the feedback.

First, Theme Island is a creative design team run by Charles Jones with the collaboration of Brandon Jones (Author Name: MDNW). Although we work on the same framework and provide feedback on projects, we are different authors and have our own ways of handling support. http://makedesign.ticksy.com/ is a great resource for questions that have been brought up regarding our older framework versions, but is not my official support forum: http://themeisland.ticksy.com/

I used to handle support and video production for MakeDesign so I understand why there would be some confusion here. I reference MakeDesign’s forum and youtube channel because there are thousands of answered questions found here and cover roughly 90% of repeat questions that are being asked. Because we work on the same framework, most of the answers are going to be similar. I can pull both of these references to limit further confusion, but they are really only offered as additional information and are not a substitute for filing a support request.

Put simply, we run our own author pages, support, and themes, but share bug fixes and meet occasionally to talk about where we think themeforest is/should be going ;)

As for the feature request, I have this noted. I hear what you are saying about including it on our end and I will continue to consider it. For the time being though you can integrate this on your own (like you would any other 3rd party plugin integration), but this means that you’ll need to touch base with EventsCalenderPro and/or a freelancer to get this up and running the way that you would like.

I hope that additional information helps! Charlie

Hi, I was wondering what font you used for the “Campus” title banner?

ThemeIsland

Hi Gage01,

Check out http://www.fontspace.com/category/college for some free college fonts that you can use (Collegiate Heavy Outline should work for you).

Hi dear. this is an awesome theme with so many life-saving options and functions.

ThemeIsland

Hi Sagalian,

Thanks for the questions. If you are still having issues, please file this as a private ticket over at our dedicated support forum: http://themeisland.ticksy.com

Be sure to include this and some additional information to help us help you: link to your site(thankyou), description or way to replicate the error, screenshot of the error that you are referring to, and a temporary login so that we can further diagnose the issue if necessary.

Next, feel free to include the customization request on the same ticket as a new item (02). Be sure to include a screenshot of the element, what the issue is, and what you would like the endgoal to be.

Cheers! Charlie
