i have and old version and already customize to my project, But i would like to update. Is there a place where I can see to what files you made updates to?

By the way, thanks you so much for the berbone verison. It really got me to startup really quick and easy to understand.

themio

I haven’t added a changelog of files but in hindsight, I should’ve. The more you learn :)

I have not modified any HTML code; just these CSS files, so replace them (changes since version 1.0)
  • styles.css
  • buttons.css
  • jqueryui.css
  • global.css
  • IE7 .css
  • iphonecheckbox.css
  • config.css – You probably changed this file so these are the parts I changed
    Line 2 @import url(.../font/..
    Line 13 nav, #sidebar {back…

If you want to move to the sidebar version, you have to take a look at s_header.php and include sidemenu.js.

The login.php has been totally revamped since version 1.0, but no change since version 1.1

For other files, I would replace the entire images/ folder.

And that’s about it. We are glad that you liked our first theme! It motivates us to make more ;)

Cheers!

Hello,

Thanks for the update. I just noticed the fancy modal boxes is listed in the feature list. I can’t seem to be able to find it in the demo.

Also, could you confirm that there is a problem rendering the graph when the graphs are inside multiple tabs.

And any chances that you would include an ajax loading design, so that we could use it using $.ajaxStart() method?

Thanks again.

themio

The modal boxes has been hidden for the demo. If you scroll down to the very bottom of home.php in line 1006, you will find a

<div id="dialog"></div>
has been commented out. If you uncomment that, and move to example.js line 38 and uncomment the
$( "#dialog" ).dialog({modal: true});
line, the modal boxes will work. We used jQuery UI so you can look at their documentation for details.

We put a graph on two tabs and it seems to work on both the latest Chrome build and Firefox 5. Do make sure they have different IDs.

Growl-like notifications and Ajax load is planned for the next major update, in one or two weeks.

Cheers :)

Hi,

It seems as though there is a conflict with facebox and jqueryui on this template. I cant seem to be able to change the loading image and close button image for facebox. Any suggestions?

Thanks

themio

Hi. We are using colorbox in this template and not facebox. But that should not have been a problem. You can start by replacing /images/colorbox/loading.gif and check the related css at style/colobox.css

You can further ask your colorbox related questions here: http://groups.google.com/group/colorbox The board is active, so it is likely that you will get your questions answered fast.

No I mean facebox (http://defunkt.io/facebox/). For some reason even after adding:

jQuery(document).ready(function($) { $(‘a[rel*=facebox]’).facebox({ loadingImage : ’/facebox/loading.gif’, closeImage : ’/facebox/closelabel.png’ }) })

It still tries (but fails) to use /images/custom/close.png. I would like to know where I can change this.

themio

It seems the problem is with the paths. I would suggest copying the custom/close.png and temporarily replace the facebox closeLabel.png and see if that works.

No luck with that.

I have managed to fix this. The problem was a conflict with the CSS .

Quick question about licensing, I want to use this for my new web app project for work. This will be used internally by our employees as a project management system (will be modifying the template heavily as well) what license would I need for this? The system will not be sold.

themio

The Regular Licence will suffice for internal uses. The regular license allows you to use the theme within a project of your own or on behalf of a client.

However, if your final product will be sold to multiple people, then you will need the extended licence.

Little more details here: http://themeforest.net/wiki/buying/howto-buying/licensing/

Default-user

Thank you for your quick reply, no this will be used internally and wont even be accessible when staff are at home, thanks for your help :)

Sorry one more question is the .PSD included? As stated above I would need to make large changes to some of the pages, so a .PSD would make this easier.

themio

Yes. The PSD is included, along with many customized icons that would you can use for the menus :)

One thing i noticed for the menus…. if you have a menu for an “active” page the menu covers up the active marker, any way to line the top of the menu up with the bottom of the navigation bar so it doesn’t hide the active marker?

Also what about sub menus?

thanks!

themio
It seems to be a small inconsistency on our part. The quick fix is to open up styles/superfish.css and in line 26 change top: 5.4em to
.sf-menu li.sfHover ul {
      top:5.7em;
}

I am sorry I do not understand the question about the sub menus. Can you explain a little more in details?

Default-user

for example we add a menu under Dashboard:

Dashboard
--Option 1
--Option 2
--------Option 2a
--------Option 2b
---------------Option 2ba
---------------Option 2bb
--------Option 2c
--Option 3
--Option 4

I tried the typical superfish format (below) but it doesn’t seem to work for some reason?

<li class="<?php if ($_GET['t']=='Dashboard') echo "active" ?>">
    <a href="home.php?t=Dashboard">
        <span class="icon"><img src="images/menu/dashboard.png" /></span>
        <span class="title">Dashboard</span>
    </a>
    <ul>
        <li><a href="#">Option 1</a></li>
        <li><a href="#">Option 2</a>
               <ul>
                <li><a href="#">Option 2a</a></li>
                <li><a href="#">Option 2b</a>
                    <ul>
                        <li><a href="#">Option 2ba</a></li>
                        <li><a href="#">Option 2bb</a></li>
                    </ul>
                </li>
                <li><a href="#">Option 2c</a></li>
            </ul>
        </li>
        <li><a href="#">Option 3</a></li>
        <li><a href="#">Option 4</a></li>
    </ul>
themio

Line 44. The problem seems to go away after I put a top:0, like so

ul.sf-menu li li:hover ul,
ul.sf-menu li li.sfHover ul {
    left:            10em; /* match ul width */
    top:                   0;
}

I also just noticed that submenu arrows are missing, so while we are at it, let’s make a quick fix.

Download this image (it was missing from the pack) and put it in your images/ directory
http://users.tpg.com.au/j_birch/plugins/superfish/images/arrows-ffffff.png
We want the arrow to appear only on the sub-menus of the second and third level, not the first, so another adjustment is required. Let’s replace the .sf-sub-indicator (line 64) with this:
.sf-sub-indicator {
    position:        absolute;
    display:        block;
    right:            .75em;
    top:            1.05em; /* IE6 only */
    width:            10px;
    height:            10px;
    text-indent:            -999em;
    overflow:        hidden;

}
And line 89 .sf-menu ul .sf-sub-indicator with
.sf-menu ul .sf-sub-indicator {
      background:url('../images/arrows-ffffff.png') no-repeat -10px 0;
}

Of course a few optimizations can now be made, and I’ll put them through with the fixes in the next update (so you can just replace superfish.css later). But these fixes should work for now.

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. Please let us know if this solves your problem.

I’ll make a new post for this but it should be simple i just cant seem to get it, if the messages number in the navigation bar (nav ul .notification) style.css, is more than two digits its way off to the right of the red circle. anyway i can center this and also account for 3+ digits in the future? thanks again

themio

You can simply remove the width property from nav ul .notification. Be warned though, in 2+ digits, the circle no longer remains circular, but kind of elliptic.

Also, since at 2+ digits the circle seems to cover the icon, change right:23px to left:33px;

This should fix the problem in the horizontal menu view, but changing right to left causes another problem in the sidebar view. So we must modify the line 292 to make it

#sidemenu .notification {top: 4px; left: auto; right:23px}

And this should fix the problem on the sidebar view as well! Let me know if the issue persists :)

Default-user

haha wish i knew it was that simple i tried everything except for removing it.. thanks it works perfect.

I cant change the progressbar height on this template. The code I am using is as follows:

$(function() { var $pb = $('.eprg').progressbar({ value: 37 }); $pb.height(10); });

This makes the progressbar container 10px but not the progress itself. Any suggestions?

themio

A thinner progress can be made by modifying the css a little, otherwise the progressbar-value maintains a height of 23px

For a progressbar with class eprg,
.eprg {height: 10px}
.eprg .ui-progressbar-value {height: 9px} /* 1px less than container height */

Sorry i meant to intergrate google analytics with the graphs etc…

themio

Chameleon Circuit uses Flot for charts. It is possible to hook up Flot with Analytics using jQuery. I found these on Google:

trying to use jquery autocomplete and it works but there is no “menu” if you will. It lists the results but it doesnt put them into a selectable menu. was this removed from the css?

themio

Yes it was removed. But now that you have reported it, we have updated the theme and pushing it as a minor upgrade (v2.2)

This was the change however, so instead of downloading the entire thing again, please just add these lines at the very bottom of styles/jqueryui.css

.ui-autocomplete {background: #fff; border: 1px solid #ddd; max-width: 15em; padding: 5px 0; border-radius: 0px 0px 3px 3px;}
.ui-autocomplete li a {display: block; padding: 5px; text-indent: 0.5em}
.ui-autocomplete li a:hover {background: #eee; text-decoration: none}

Is there a way to make it mobile friendly? Have you implement it? If not, when approximately you will?

Thanks

themio

Unfortunately, there are no plans to have a mobile version of Chameleon Circuit. However we are working on a new admin theme right now (due to release sometime in early October) which will be responsive for mobile devices, same if not more customizable, and will have some more interesting and useful features.

Hi, I’m having a little hard time to understand why the calendar still not displaying my events from the XML link I have grabbed from Google Calendar Settings. Is there any other place I have to change but the ” events:” line in the code?

themio

The Google calendar you are linking to must be public, and there is also a gcal.js that needs to be included in your header. But otherwise, there is no need to change anything except “events:”

Here is the full documentation of the plugin. Hopefully it will help you solve the problems you have: http://arshaw.com/fullcalendar/docs/google_calendar/

yes there are tabs available in the design. Just check the second widget from the top at the demo page about Tables (http://localhost/circuit/home.php).

The tabs are integrated using jQuery UI.

one more notice - it would be very nice if you add icons and few js to your Grid_* classes to be able to

1/ roll out it – so whole content is displayed 2/ roll in it – so only top bar (header) is displayed 3/ close it – so it is not shown

themio

We’ll definitely look into it!

Great job on a lovely looking theme.

I was just curious as to why you used tables to manage the layout of the forms. Seems a bit old school, was it to achieve a certain look that would have been hard using semantic html?

themio

Strictly speaking, forms (name/value pairs) are tabular data. It may seem a bit old school but it’s not really semantically wrong.

Just look at a 1040 tax form. It’s a table. :)

But truth be told the subject is still controversial, I googled right after you asked the question and opinions seem to be divided.
