Hello,

I bought since theme version 1.04, and now i would like to update to 1.1.

But from download page, i get again 1.04. Where to get 1.1 ?

Thank you

Orbital_Themes

How do you know it’s 1.0.4? I’ve just downloaded the package from ThemeForest to ensure that it’s indeed version 1.1. How have you checked the version?

Also, how is the file named in your download section?

it seems that isn’t working but anyway ill try to do it manually. i wanted also to ask about the avatar, and users if clicks on the edit page of his profile there isn’t any option to add an avatar, how can i let user to add an avatar?

Orbital_Themes

Do not edit theme files manually as you will lose all your edits when the theme is updated. Codestyling Localization works great, it’s just that its UI is not so intuitive. Read my reply to mysearchfish’s comment few comments back, I gave him a tutorial on how to use the plugin.

You can always translate the theme without the plugin using software like POEdit, it’s a little bit more complicated, though.

As for avatars – CheerApp, as well as WirdPress itself (and bbPress too) uses Gravatar service to serve user avatars. I am sure that someone wrote a bbPress plugin that lets users upload their custom avatar.

Hope this helps!

sorry i have two accounts on themeforest…

hello, could u please tell me how to create lost password option in sign in page??

thanks

Orbital_Themes

Not a problem, sorry for the inconvenience.

You have to create a page with ‘bbPress – User Lost Password’ template (name it whatever you’d like). A link to that page will appear automatically below the login form on login page. :)

My Androïd version is 2.3.

Sorry pogoking but really im trying to translate the theme with that plugin but isn’t working ! can you help me please ?

Orbital_Themes

That plugin is working great. I have already translated CheerApp with Codestyling Localization (and so have many other buyers). You just have to follow my tutorial step by step because the plugin’s UI is a little bit confusing.

If you still have issues with it I can send you a .po file exported with Italian format (the strings still need to be translated, though) via email, just contact me using contact form on my profile page. The .po file will have to be placed inside /languages directory inside theme folder. You can then translate this file using a tool like POEdit or the Codestyling Localization plugin.

Hello,

excellent theme! I do have some questions regarding the CheerApp theme before I may purchase it.

Are there any plans to integrate a portfolio page or do you know some compatible plugins to create a portfolio page with your theme?

Can I use related articles inside the blog (like in the knowledgebase)?

Does the theme come with shortcodes (buttons, colums, toggles, etc)?

Is there the option available to include a ‘about the author’ section below each article?

Many thanks.

Hi,

This is very good work. I’d like to make a note for you: your buttons work great on white backgrounds, but in dark background, there is no button shadow transparency, so you see a white bottom border for buttons with dark background.

In styles.css on line 2013 – 2076 appears to be ok. but, for maybe for box-shadow should be ‘transparent’ so that shadow blends with any background.

something like: box-shadow: 0 1px 0 rgba(150, 150, 0, 0.2), 0 0 1px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.1) inset

Disclaimer: I’m not sure if others have this problem, but this works for me.

I am looking at the instructions ( readme ) that came with my purchase ( a couple days ago ) and from looking at them I am missing some settings for some reason under featured posts. What I am trying to do is post a video in the featured post slider and not have it use a light box. Under Video I have 2 settings, No video or Click featured image. Under the help there is several other settings in the screenshot in which one includes “Show only video, do not show featured image”. This is what I am trying to accomplish.

What am I doing wrong? I’ve added the video URL from YouTube but still can not get the video to play straight from the slider.

Thanks

ALSO There needs to be a easier way to insert a CAPTCHA to reduce spam. As it stands I will have to disable both the contact form and form that appears under the knowledgebase because of spam :(. Do you have a suggestion other than having buyers manually figure out how to program one in, as I have tried that without much success.

Thanks!

I’ve installed the theme but am getting the following error now on the site -

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_theme() in /home/public_html/MYDOMAIN.NET/wp-content/themes/cheerapp/functions.php on line 19
Orbital_Themes

What WP version are you on? The wp_get_theme function will only work on WP 3.4 and up, and this is the minimum required version that CheerApp supports.

are you providing xml files for this?

Orbital_Themes

Yes, there is a database export (via WordPress exporter) included in the download package.

It is not there. Similar to humain2, I can’t find it. Can you email it to me also?

Oh, sorry, must have forgotten the file when making last theme update. Shoot me an email via contact form on my profile page, I’ll send you the file. :)

I’m getting this error on the user profile edit screen at the bottom….

Fatal error: Call to undefined function bbp_edit_user_role() in /home/mag1/public_html/wp-content/themes/cheerapp/bbpress/form-user-edit.php on line 153

Any idea why?

Orbital_Themes

Thanks for reporting this. Apparently something has changed in bbPress, I’m working on the fix. :)

i sent you an email requesting the italian po file to translate it with Codestyling Localization.

Thanks

Orbital_Themes

Sent you an email with the file. :)

Hello, I am am avid user of wordpress, I use your theme on my site to promote bbpress use in my language, I have done some translating and I am not finished yet…. Just a little on my background, I do realize that some changes occurred in wordpress and bbpress, when in the profile editing mode this is the error on my install
Fatal error: Call to undefined function bbp_edit_user_role() in /home/infotech/public_html/pergunteminas.com.br/wp-content/themes/cheerapp/bbpress/form-user-edit.php on line 153

Orbital_Themes

Hi itsnyc,

I am aware of this bug. The fix will come as part of the next update!

Hi I posted 2 questions on page 7 a month ago. Could you please address them? Thank you Tommy

Orbital_Themes

Helo Tommy,

sorry for that! To answer your questions – some things have changed since I wrote the documentation, apparently I haven’t removed that part fro the docs. The settings for video slides were present in the initial version of the theme, unfortunately I had to remove then during the responsive update as embedding videos directly into the slides was too much even for more powerful mobile devices.

As for Captcha on the contact form – I’ve coded a custom spam protection that I call a ‘honeypot technique’. The contact form has an additional field hidden from the user and named in a way that will attract spam bots to fill it. Once the field is filled the form won’t validate. This type of protection worked really well for me so far – I haven’t received a single spam email from the contact form on my demo. Usually theme demos attract spam – I get tens of spam comments from comment forms on demo articles a day, but not a single spam email through the contact form. Maybe your case is different. Have you got any spam through contact form on your live website?

Default-user

Thanks for the reply! I’m clear on the first part and as for the second part I have not received any spam. I was trying to prevent it in advance. I was not aware of your coding method. I will try it out.

Thank you!
