Awesome template, glws mate
Thanks! Looking forward to it.
Beautiful work my friend!!
Thanks so much!
Hi, great theme but can you help me with something. I uploaded the folder to my server website, then I made all the steps to the joomla installation just like your help docmentation mentions. But for some reason I do not have the template installed. I go to my files in my server and under the template folder I can see there are the templates but in Joomla I can not see them. Can you help me with this. I can give you my access username and password to joomla to see if you can help me. Just can you give me an email to send them to you. Thanks.
Sure. Send me your details – jm@webunderdog.com
Hi,
Why the meta description and keywords can’t be updated through Joomla?
Also the Title adds the name of the template just before the real title.
EDIT : Nevermind… Found it has specific meta data on the content page
Hi,
I just fired off an e-mail to you, but I am just wondering, after installing the theme, I can’t access the “module positions” mentioned in your guide. I don’t see Top1 2 or 3 etc….
Thanks, Eric
It looks as if the demo content was not installed. Make sure you click the “install sample data” button towards the end of the installation process. I’ve emailed you detailed instructions. Please let me know if you need more assistance.
Thanks webunderdog! Everything is coming along great! The theme is amazing!
I just have one more question right now…when selecting new images for the slide show, I’m getting a small grey gap between the top of the frame and the picture. I played with some configs with no avail, I assume its in the css file?
Hi
Ive purchased your great theme and installed it on my site. I am having 1 problem though. None of the main links in the nav menu are working. When any of the links are clicked there is just an error “No input file specified.”
Main page displays ok and Ive made no modification to any of the other pages yet. Any ideas why this might be happening?
Thanks Joe
This is due to the SEF urls in the settings. You’ll want to turn this off as you develop your website. In the admin area, navigate to the site > global configurations. From there, turn off SEF urls and save.
Thanks that’s fixed it. Should I turn this back on after the site is finished?
I think so. I mean, who doesn’t want search engine friendly URLs?! All you have to do is change you htaccess.txt to .htaccess on your server, change it in your admin settings (as before) and wait for your server to resolve. It can take time. Once you have developed your site, either URL will work – friendly or not. Basically, your server was looking for something that didn’t exist in your files before – therefore, you got the ‘no input file’ response. Thanks again
Hi
I would like to purchase the theme and i was asking whether i can modify colors to customize them ?.
Thank you
This theme comes with 7 preset color styles. You can view these by using the template switcher on the ‘template’ page of our demo. We recommend using the closest matching color style before making any additional changes. If you know any CSS and have graphics editing software, you can easily alter any of our color styles.
Thanks , I will purchase the theme
Just one question. I would like to buy this theme to use for a friends wedding, but I am planning to build the site for him on WordPress and not Joomla.
So essentially I just need the frontend html/css – if I buy this will that be OK or will there be a fair bit of changes? I’m guessing it’s pretty tightly setup for use with Joomla?
Thanks for your interest. Actually, we have a WP Cherish version in production. We’d rather you not do that, as the initial concept is our design and for you to output another product identical to ours would have copyright issues. You would have to make significant changes to the design itself in which case you might as well begin with your own concept. To answer your question, the Joomla HTML/CSS would only save you the initial coding time of PSD to HTML, 90% of the rest is built around the Joomla core system.
How far away is the WP version? I have no intention of outputting any product, I just want to use your theme in WordPress instead of Joomla, completely understand though, might have to look for WP specific theme I guess.
It probably won’t be within the time frame of your project as we have a couple in production for WP. Our projected timeline is somewhere between the middle and end of next month.
Hi, very nice theme. Does it work under Joomla 3.0?
Thank You. We have not tested the template or extensions on J3.0. Many of the extensions used were not available during the development of this theme. We do plan to update this template to 3.x in the near future.
Wonderful theme and it is coming along nicely. Never worked with Joomla so there was certainly a learning curve. One question though. I’d like to modify one template to be darker. What would be the process of duplicating one template / theme so I can make color changes on it without ruining the current themes
? Thanks.
Duplicate one of the standalone color templates that you want to use, edit the copied folder name, unzip/extract the contents, open the templateDetails.xml file and change the template name, make your changes in the template.css file, zip/compress all the contents as they originally were and install your new theme in the extension manager of the admin area. Once you have it uploaded, you can simply move your template.css over by FTP to see your changes.
Hi, I care about the most PSD files how many pages in PSD file contains all of your template (all sites) I hurry ….. please let me know BR Marcin
There is only one template PSD file. Joomla is quite different in that we do not need multiple templates to create multiple layouts as in Wordpress.
Hi, I’m having some trouble getting this theme to be IE8 & 9 friendly. The site constructs perfectly in Chrome, Firefox and Safari but breaks in IE8 and 9. Any help would be much appreciated..
May we see your link? You can send it in a private message through our profile. We tested the theme in IE8 and IE9 and it works fine. Your IE browser may be in compatibility mode. If you look at our demo and it does the same, this is the case. If it doesn’t do the same, you’ve edited something in the template file.
I shall PM/Email you the link. I checked both compatibility and non-compatibility modes but they do pretty much the same construct. I did look at the demo and yes it does appear perfectly which is what is confusing me slightly as the only changes I have made to the template itself is some colours in the CSS.
Is the template compatible with Joomla 2.5.9?
Yes. The quickstart package was built on J2.5.8 and you should be able to easily update through the control panel with no problems. We will help you should you need our support. Thanks for your interest.
Hello, I just bought this template. Please let me know how can I use Cyrillic symbols in the text. I managed to change the names of the bride and the groom and added some text in the articles in Bulgarian, but the Cyrillic symbols aren’t displayed.
Thanks for the great template.
If you’re having trouble with the text and titles, this is controlled via the KC Cufon Font Replacement Plugin. You will need to generate a new resource file that suits your needs. Download the font used (help documentation) and upload it here: http://cufon.shoqolate.com/generate/. If you need help with changing language packages or multilanguage support for content, you should consult the Joomla forums. This may help you as well: http://tinyurl.com/caezkpc. If you need more assistance, please private message us so that we may give you a more detailed response by email. Thank You
Hi webunderdog,
congrats in the great theme! I am using it for my own wedding
I have a doubt… even though I changed the site’s name, I still have “Cherish – Joomla 2.5 Wedding & Marriage Template Theme… ” appearing in the browser… how do I change it???
Thank you in advance. Leticia
These are controlled by the individual menu items. In the admin area, navigate to the menu manager > main menu > choose a menu item such as home. On the right side options, under page display, you can remove or edit the browser title as you need it. Thank You
