Hello there – How do I add a portfolio group to a page?

I would like to have each portfolio be its own page, I.E. : Videos, Photos, etc.

THanks.

ThemeBlvd

Hello,

Have you watched the video tutorial on how portfolios work with this theme?

https://vimeo.com/16688488

You do not put a portfolio onto a page, but rather you just link to it from your main menu under a Appearance > Menus. WordPress constructs a page just for the portfolio, you don’t actually make one.

This is the same as when you link to a category archive of blog posts. You do not put the category on a page, but instead WordPress creates this archive page for you. The same thing goes for portfolio, which is a grouping of “portfolio item” posts.

Hi I want to put the slideshow in all of the pages. Can I do that? if not.. how can I put a image to be visible in all pages below the menu where the slideshow is?

ThemeBlvd

I apologize, but the actual position of how the slideshow is placed on the homepage is exclusively for the homepage only. This area does not exist with pages.

You can put slideshows on pages with the slideshow shortcode, however they will not show in that same position just below the menu like on the homepage.

Hi… have you seen this? This vulnerability was exploited on my site recently and I had to rebuild. Do you have a patch for this?

Notes: We have verified that your site is currently vulnerable to cross-site scripting attacks at this time. You can duplicate this issue by visiting the following URL (this was duplicated in Internet Explorer):

((WEBSITE))/?s=”/><script>alert(42)</script>

XSS (Cross Site Scripting) flaws occur whenever an application takes untrusted data and sends it to a web browser without proper validation and escaping. XSS allows attackers to execute script in the victim’s browser which can hijack user sessions, deface web sites, or redirect the user to malicious sites.

In order to prevent this type of attack you will need to ensure that untrusted data is kept separate from browser content. The following is recommended:

1. The best option is to properly escape all untrusted data based on the HTML context (body, attribute, JavaScript, CSS , or URL ) that the data will be placed into. Unless your UI framework does this for you, your developers will need to include this escaping in your application. For example, with PHP you might use htmlentities() to escape (or sanitize) your inputs.

2. The use of positive or “whitelist” input validation with appropriate canonicalization (decoding) can also help to protect against XSS . Please note that this is not a complete defense as many applications will require special characters in their input. Whenever possible validation should decode any encoded input, and then validate the length, characters, format, and any additional business rules on the data before it is accepted as input.

I apologize, but I honestly have no idea what you’re specifically referring to with the theme. Do you have any specifics outside of just general copy/paste info?

Why won’t my drop down menus appear on the subpages?

http://www.mountrobsoninn.com
ThemeBlvd

That would be from your “Book Now” widget. You’re manually including jQuery again and so it’s breaking all jQuery-required javascript that came before it. This includes the main navigation. This is why it works on your homepage, but none of the subpages which you’ve placed this code.

WPML compatibility, right? thx

ThemeBlvd

I suppose everything that’s not part of the Theme Options would be WPML compatible.

You can see a list all of my fully WPML -compatible themes here:

Jason,

I am having issues with a childs page all of a sudden not letting me edit the page and giving a 403 forbidden code. Any idea on what might be doing this?

ThemeBlvd

Hello,

On that one, you’d really need to contact your web host. I think they’re going to be the only ones that could tell you why that would be happening. They can check your server’s error logs and tell you why. Anytime you’re getting forbidden or internal server errors, if you do not know what you’ve done on your server configuration to cause this, it’s generally best to just contact your web host support.

Hello. Look: http://www.karlabrat.com.br/novosite/?portfolio=devaneios

Why are thumbnails in the original file size proportion?

ThemeBlvd

Because you must have uploaded them before you installed the theme. You need to regenerate your thumbnails any time you install a new theme.

I’m ready to buy your theme, but want to find out about the home page video in slider. On your demo, when you start playing the video in the home page slider, it rotates to the next slide if you move your cursor off of the slider. The video(and audio from video) continue to play in the background. Is there a way to have the video slide not rotate once the play button is hit? Thanks for your help.

ThemeBlvd

No, I apologize, but the only way to resolve what you’re asking would be to turn off auto-rotation all together on the slider, which you can do from the slider’s settings.

Hi there, I was wanting to know how I can display “next page” with a list of numbers ie: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc at the end of the blog roll rather than the current “older posts”

Hope this makes sense.

Cheers.

ThemeBlvd

Hello,

I apologize for the inconvenience, but for support please post from the account in which the theme was purchased.

Hi. How can i set a default high for images on the blog roll page? Even if crop the images, of course.

Thanks.

ThemeBlvd

All of the theme’s image crop sizes can be found at the top of this file:

/includes/theme_functions/general.php

And here’s documentation on how all this works:

http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_image_size
brunoferreiraems
well.. I am using “TRUE” in the code, look: add_image_size( 'blog-stretch', 570, 300, true );

But it is not cropping the image. Its just resizing proportionally. why?

ThemeBlvd

WordPress crops the images when you upload them. So simply making that change won’t do anything to images you’ve already uploaded. You need to either re-upload them or re-generate your thumbnails.

Another doubt: How can i delete the title “Category: Anything” in category blog pages?

ThemeBlvd

Category pages are controlled with archive.php.

I’m sure there’s some simple cure to this but I’m too big a bonehead to figure it out.

My menu doesn’t display “Home” as an option. If I click the logo, it takes me home but all I have in the menu is “About,” “Contact,” and “Portfolio.”

Any suggestions?

ThemeBlvd

Hello,

On your main menu, how have you set it up? You should have created a custom menu under Appearance > Menus, and then applied it to the Primary Navigation location.

Ok, so now you have a menu you can edit and add whatever buttons you want. You’d just add a home menu to the top of the menu. Check out this video for a tutorial on using the menu builder and also adding the home button in there is mentioned, as well.

You’re great. Thanks. I never would have figured that out on my own.

Yeah, that’s Chris “The Human Rake” Pronger. I wondered how long it would take before someone would recognize him and the answer to that question is, “Two posts.”

Thanks again! All your work is great!

How to make thumbnails of galleries with the same size, regardless of original aspect ratio?

ThemeBlvd

I’m sorry but I’m not quite sure what you’re referring to. I believe I told you before where all of the theme’s image crop sizes are held, if that’s what you’re asking. If you’re talking about actual WordPress galleries, then that’s controlled from your WordPress media settings.

Quick question…how do I keep the “Site Title” text from appearing at all? I do not want the text or an image to display, however I still need to enter a Site Title to show on tabs in Chrome, FF, etc.

ThemeBlvd

I’m sorry I’m not sure where you’re referring to. I don’t know what you mean by the site title and image? Can you show me a link to where these items are displaying and I give you an idea where the theme places them? But as far as I know the theme’s homepage has no title or image automatically displaying anywhere, which is why I’m a little confused.

Thanks for getting back to me, I figured out how to fix it on my own. I just went into the homepage SEO and title formatting sections and removed the blog_title from everything and just typed in the actual title, yes a little weird but the site is not being used for a blog at all so be it, as long as I was able to fix it :)

I do have another question though underneath the slide show area where you have the 3 images that are 270×100. Is there a way to keep these 3 images in a “fixed” position. Apparently they look fine and lined up on my monitor but the person I am doing this for says they are not lined up on his end at all. Thanks again!

ThemeBlvd

I’m sorry but this is something you’re going to have to troubleshot a little further yourself for your client. I also have no way of knowing what your client is seeing or what browser they’re using.

Default-user
mattpugs Purchased

Well it has something to do with screen sizes, the smaller the screen the more lines of text show over the the 3 images. So if there is additional line of text on a smaller screen it pushes the images down. Just thought there might be a way to keep the images in a static location no matter the text

ThemeBlvd

You could give whatever wraps your text some sort of fixed height with CSS .

<p style="height:100px">Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam.</p>

Got two Questions – 1 ) How do i add a PDF Download Link which will appear on the Left Side of the Page – I got 65 PDFs to be made available on different Pages , i HAVe tried the Widget Logic thing – but with this number of PDFs its kinda redundant , Is there a way in side Page Codes that we can Put a HTML Tag to show the PDF Download link on the Left Side Placement of a Full Width Page ?

2) Can i disable the Conventional Slider and Use a Flash Based Slider , Do i have to use Scripting for that ? or is there a more straight forward way ?

Thanks in advance for help…..

P.S – Great Theme :)

ThemeBlvd

Hello,

1) If you’d like to add custom code to the full width page template, you can do this in the file “template_fullwidth.php” of the theme—This is the file that holds the HTML for this particular page template.

2) No, I apologize, but there’s no easy solution there. This is also a customization you’ll need to make to the theme’s code.

The theme’s file “index.php” controls the homepage. So, within there, you’d need to find the slideshow section and replace it with whatever you want. You should be able to easily locate this section that calls the various slideshow functions from the file’s comments.

I’d like to add the ThemeBlvd Simple Contact widget to the header area of my site with only the icons and links for Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, but the stylesheet for this widget is breaking and these items show as a simple bulleted list, not in-line with icons. The widget works properly in the Footer Boxes. What can I do? My site is selerix.com and I’m running 2.2.2.

ThemeBlvd

I apologize, but the header widget area is there for you to place custom content into, however widgets are not styled to go there as they are in other widget areas. It’s meant for simple things like a banner ad or some other kind of custom content.

I’ve been using this theme for over a year now and have been very happy with it, thanks for all the hard work.

I’m using a blogroll as my home page. If you click “older posts” at the bottom and keep clicking.. it will not go past a post made in January. Additionally when I view the archive page for the month of January January only 7 of the 15 posts come up. Yet on another page only 2 of 22 posts show up on the archive page. I think all these things are related. Sorry if this is not enough detail, I don’t really know how else to explain it or how to begin troubleshooting it. I’ve searched through all the settings and can’t seem to find anything. Please let me know if you have any questions taht will help me figure out what’s going on here.

Thanks so much.

ThemeBlvd

Hello,

In each one of the pages you’re linking to, on the last post on the page, you have something inside that is breaking everything that comes below. Are you trying to put some sort of plugin into these posts? A shortcode or something?

Notice how all of those pages have no footer at the bottom of your site? It’s because literally everything is breaking and the page just stops rendering when it’s sent back from your server. You should double check any customizations you’ve made to PHP files and any plugins you might be using that would effect these specific posts.

I notice that each of these posts loads normally when viewed individually. So, do you have some sort of plugin being inserted in their excerpts maybe? Anything like this?

Default-user

Thanks for pointing me in a direction… I eventually (after a couple more hours) nailed it down to the featured image. Deleting the featured images in these posts fixed everything. I use NextGen Gallery and it allows you to select the featured image from your galleries…not something we do very often and apparently it’s not a good idea to do it that way because it causes things to break.

Thanks for the help! This fixed a lot of issues I was having.

I am having trouble uploading the background with this version of the theme, is it 2.2.2? Has anyone else had this issue?

ThemeBlvd

Can you be more specific about the issue? You mean you can’t get the background image to show on the frontend? Or at all in the WordPress admin under Appearance > Background? And are you saying you’re using 2.2.2 or what version are you actually using?

  • Bought between 1 and 9 items

@Patmacy

I use a custom background and have not had any trouble with 2.2.2

Appearance > Background, upload background image.

Can you be more specific to what your problem is?

ThemeBlvd

I am also a fan of specifics. ;-)
