Is there a way or setting to change the default to “hide the page title” under the “Page Options” tab when creating new pages? Thank you for any help!

Hello,

No, I’m sorry, but there is no feature for this in the theme.

Hi Jason, Great job with your wordpress themes. I am about to purchase a theme for a clients website. It will be used mainly as a CMS with maybe a blog attached later on.

I have a few questions about your themes. I need a few features that I wanted to ask you about.

Can the main menu in the heading be centered on the page?

Can your themes have an extra menu on the left side of the homepage? (maybe a menu area or widget etc). I need one main menu at the top with Home, About us, Contact us, etc. and then I need another menu on the left hand side of all pages with product pages and sub pages. Can this be done in your themes?

Hello Olav,

I apologize but there are no features for what you’re asking. Theses are all customizations you’d need to make to the theme.

I need another menu on the left hand side of all pages with product pages and sub pages.

This, however, can be done with any WordPress theme, for the most part. You’d create a menu under Appearance > Menus and put it in the sidebar with WordPress’s “Custom Menu” widget.

Do I understand you right when I say that centering of the main menu cannot be done without writing some code?

If so, would you be willing to point me in the right direction of doing the customization so I could do it? If so I will purchase a license.

I will be looking forward to your answer :-)

Yes, this is correct. I apologize, but there is no option to center the menu. Centering a dynamically generated unordered list when you don’t know the width is actually quite difficult and there are many approaches you could take. If you do a google search you’ll see various ways to tackle this with CSS , as it’s a fairly classically discussed subject.

This will be a customization you’d need to make to the theme, and is not included with support, unfortunately. You’ll need to figure out the method that works best for you.

Can you change the background to a custom picture, not just a preset??

ThemeBlvd

Yes, this theme supports WordPress’s built-in custom background control.

Jason, I thought all your themes used the latest version of your framework . But when I downloaded some plugins I found that to not be the case. Which themes uses which version of the framework?

~Olav

ThemeBlvd

Complexity is an old theme and does not use any of my latest stuff. I don’t have any plugins in existence that will work with Complextiy.

See my profile page.

There I have a list of framework v1/v2 themes.

Hi Jason, great theme but I’m struggling with the Nivo slider. http://www.xcelsurfaces.co.uk/ I’ve taken it off the homepage settings and added it to the home page content, this is so I can add it to further pages and it looks the same. The second image is meant to change but it stays the same, then all the text goes out of sync. It’s the same for the slider on this page too http://www.xcelsurfaces.co.uk/wetpour/

Thanks

Hello,

Try wrapping the slideshow shortcode in the raw shortcode like this:

Hi Jason,

This hasn’t worked. Do you reckon anything else will work?

Thanks

ThemeBlvd

Nothing else comes to mind because the problem is definitely WordPress automatic formatting inserting paragraph and break tags all in-between elements of the slider. Is there any way I could get a look actually at this setup in your WP admin?

How does one change the size of the porftoilio thumbnail images? http://canopylocks.com.au/portfolio/gallery/
ThemeBlvd

Hello,

This is a customization you’d need to make to the theme. You can find where the image sizes are set at the top of this file:

/includes/theme_functions/general.php

http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_image_size

Remember to always re-generate your thumbnails after making any changes to crop sizes.

Jason, how do I translate the Complexity theme texts into Norwegian? Where is the file that needs to be translated?

~Olav

ThemeBlvd

In the WordPress world, they refer to translating WordPress as “localization” and so this theme comes “localization-ready”.

This is the complete guide to get you started:

http://codex.wordpress.org/Translating_WordPress

Specifically to the theme, there is a file called default.po located in the “lang” folder of the theme. You download that file and translate the contents line by line. This process will be easier to manage if you use a program like poEdit, for example. That way you’ll be able to translate the file with a user-friendly interface and not a text editor. Then you save the file with your language code in the file name (ex: fr_FR.po for French, en_BR.po for British, etc). When you do this, poEdit will also create a second file for you with the same name ending in ”.mo”. Then you need to upload these two new files back to “lang” folder of the theme on your live site.

In order for the above process to work, you need to actually have your WordPress site set to be in your language. You do that by changing the language code in your wp-config.php file (which is found in the root directory or your WordPress installation). Here’s a guide on that process:

I’m trying to move a WP installation using your theme from one host to another and I’m getting php errors. The provider I’m moving to, ‘Media Temple”, is helping with the problem and suggested I contact you as well. What is the best way to get support on an issue like this? Do you have a support forum other than themeforest?

ThemeBlvd

Hello,

You’re in the right place; this is where you can get support.

http://themeblvd.com/support/

*Please keep in min that you must be logged into the account in which you’ve purchased the theme with to get support.

So login to that account, let me know what version of Complexity you’re using and what kinds of errors you’re getting, and hopefully I can give you some insight.

But just in general, there shouldn’t be anything theme-specific you’d need to do in moving your site, other than maybe re-configuring things in the WordPress admin if you haven’t made your database transfer correctly.

Hi, Jason~

Sorry to bug you, but I cant search the forum for a solution. I think the Lightbox plug in is not working correctly. I have links to self hosted flv files on a portfolio page. The videos are linked in the “Portfolio Item” entry box as follows:

http://www.humbleguru.com/video/denver_bicycle_art_crank.flv?width=640&height=360

When the video plays, it plays on a totally black page, in the upper left corner of the page. I would like it to play in a Lightbox type box in the center of the page with the rest greyed out behind it.

I am using Complexity2 with all WP updates installed.

ThemeBlvd

Hello,

I’m not quite following. Are you able to provide a link to where this happening so I can see the issue you’re describing?

Here is the link.

http://humbleguru.com/blog/portfolio/video-portfolio-2

The only thing I can see is that I am not uploading the video into the media library.

I would load them into the library, but they all exceed the 35mb limit.

ThemeBlvd

That’s an odd one. Can you link to other items in the lightbox popup like just an image? (I’m guessing not)

What happens if you disable other plugins using javascript?—There has to be a conflict somewhere.

For some reason the ThemeBlvd Twitter Feed widget stopped working. It’s been fine for several months but I’m stumped as to why it quit all of the sudden. Any ideas?

ThemeBlvd

It’s probably some sort of issue with how much the widget is hitting the Twitter API as they’ve recently tightened up their standards. What’s in the theme currently needs to be re-done, I think. You should probably just try some other third-party Twitter plugin. I’m sure you can find tons of them and that just might be the easiest and quickest solution at this point.

Hi Jason how do I delay a slide that has video in it? I don’t want the user to click the video then a transition takes place….. Thanks

ThemeBlvd

Hello,

When you’re setting up the options for your slider, you’ll need to turn off the auto-ration all together for this. To do that, you just want to set that seconds between transitions option (can’t remember the exact wording) to “0”. —Let me know if you need more clarification on that or of that doesn’t make sense.

Will this still auto play the slides but wait for the video to be done to play the rest?

ThemeBlvd

Nope, it has nothing to do with videos specifically. You’re just making it so the slider doesn’t auto-advance in general. You don’t have any other options in this regard.

I removed the padding on the home page content under the widget or under the slider by this: div style=”margin-top: -45px;”

But now I have some strange lines (borders shifted down) eon the bottom of the homepage now. Is there a better method. Likely in the code?

Thank you.

IN the Lightbox how do you control the “undefined” notation on the bottom left hand corner of the lightbox. Thanks

ThemeBlvd

You need to put a title in the anchor tag linking to the lightbox item.

For CSS changes, it’s a good idea to use a tool like firebug or Google Chrome’s built-in developer tools to locate them and then put the edits either in your child theme or in the “Custom CSS ” option on your theme options page.

Also, here’s a helpful tutorial on how to use Firebug – http://vimeo.com/20917974. The only thing I’d suggest not doing is actually making edits to the theme’s CSS files, as it shows at the end of that video. However, the video serves as a good introduction to Firebug and how it can be used to find what CSS is effecting certain areas of your site without ever digging around in any files.

Hi, Having a slight incompatibility issue with Firefox which a visually impaired member pointed out. He sets View > zoom > zoom text only + zoom in All that is displayed is Two items from the menu have dropped and the page has almost disappeared to the right of the screen….....is there a solution? Thanks

ThemeBlvd

Hello,

I apologize, but the solution is really just that they shouldn’t be zooming into the webpage. If you start zooming into any webpage, weird things will start to happen. Obviously if the buttons are protruding out of their container it’s going to mess with the proceeding container.
