Hello and sorry to bother again,
I think I’ll go with your theme anyway as it is the best right now and you seem willing to continue developing it… so it sounds like the best option right now. If you add mobile + rating/reviews, it’ll be just awesome. I don’t need the plugin right now as the project is small but can certainly imagine using it if the site gets bigger.
Just one more question, does the prices include future updates? till when? I’ve tried looking for that info on your site as well as themeforest but haven’t been able to find a definite answer.

In regards to future updates, for the foreseeable future, certainly in 2013, we will continue to make updates available here via ThemeForest without charging extra for this. Simply download the theme from within your downloads section and you should always get the latest/current version of the theme. We have no plans of charging for future updates at the moment and we will ensure that the theme continues to be compliant with future versions of WordPress and browser updates.

When i click on “Filter” in the Sidebar Product Search Widget with nothing checked, i get a list of all items. I want to display this list on a page (without having to click “Filter” first). Is this possible?

I hope you are well and thanks for your query. A solution might be to create a copy of the search results template and assign this to your new page. You would then have to make a small tweak to the underlying query to display all products by default.

you will have to upgrade Compare+ manually. First make a backup of your site (files + database) and then delete the old version and upload the latest version of Compare+.

We are selling our Compare theme for $40 here on ThemeForest and our Compare+ plugin directly for $149 ($189 for both) which I think is still too low. Some of our close competitors charge $330+ for similar products. We would love to sell the plugin via CodeCanyon but the most expensive item on CodeCanyon is $50 which is why we’ve decided not to sell it via this channel.

thank you for your query. You can change “brands” in the URL within the theme options under Appearance > Theme Options > Miscellaneous > Brands URL slug
You can also change the term “brands” in the product search widget by editing the translation file using POedit.

The product image of the master product should still show but no individual products will be listed and the system says “No product found”
In regards to Compare+, this product is based on external XML or CSV feeds and you would typically set up one or more feeds per retailer.
If the products have an unique identifier (e.g. EAN, ISBN etc) then the system will map them automatically. If it cannot map them automatically then you would have to map them manually is not feasible for thousands of products. The software also has an option to “force import” products and categories without any product mapping.
In regards to having 1 million products, we’ve not tested the product to this level and you would certainly need a large server and database to manage this. We’ve only tested the product with 50,000 products and I have a feeling that 1 million products might be difficult to manage.

we’ve tested the product with 50,000 products but I am not sure where exactly the limits are. One thing on our long list is to set up a couple of showcase sites and we can then try and get more ideas about the limits.
In regards to the unique identifier, you can pick any field as the unique identifier (e.g. EAN or ISBN) and the system will then map the products automatically based on this. This value doesn’t get displayed on the frontend.

Regarding the unique product identifier, when you set up or edit a parser then you can specify the field “Product EAN”. This is the field used to automatically map products. If two or more products have the same EAN (or any other field you specify) then the products will get automatically mapped based on this. I hope this makes it a little bit clearer.

Ok, I understand,
If a product is already mapped a feed with ean the next feed with another product with the same ean will correctly, right?
I found a problem for spanish language, is very common use accents, eg informática “á”, electrónica “ó”, when I import the feed short words in accents for that reason are not complete such categories, eg informática short in “inform”
have no linguistic errors is very important for google, you think can solution quick this?

In regards to special Spanish letters, we have customers in many different languages and this should be working and I will have a chat with the team about this to see what might be causing it.

We’ve done a customisation for a client where we added another category level and we did this via our customisation over at www.wpcustomize.it. Please feel free to ask us for a quote for this as we won’t be able to add this to a release at least until April.

Hi Contines, you should have received an email via our helpdesk system. The reason for the characters breaking is down to the feed which was not in UTF8. As long as your feeds are UTF8 encoded then the characters should display correctly.

thanks for your query regarding the problem you are experiencing. There could be a number of reasons for getting the malware on your site.
First of all you should take a full backup of your database and all files of your site and then you should update your WordPress version, all plugins used, the theme and also change your WordPress and FTP password.

Does this theme offer compatibility with multiple reviews/star rating plugins? I’d like to use it as a combo comparison – review site. Have you seen people do this successfully in the past? I can’t see any reason out of the box just adding multiple “comments” as reviews and aggregating their reviews wouldn’t work. The issue might be with display aggregate review ratings on category pages.

we’ve not fully tested our Compare product with review/star rating plugins but we had requests to ensure compatibility with the GD Star Rating plugin and we will try and look into this for the next release due for the end of February. Hi. First of all, beautiful theme! Before I purchase this plugin I was wondering how you handle deleted products. When a feed gets updated, products will be removed sometimes. Do the deleted products get a 404? Or 301 redirects?

In regards to deleted products and using 301 redirects, we are not handling these and they will return a 404 error as you suspected. We have this functionality on our wish list and we would like to provide options for this in a future release but until then you will have to handle the redirects manually.

I hope you are well and thanks for your query. As it stands at the moment, you cannot mix the adding products functionality with feed imports as Compare+ removes the products as it’s not found in the feed. We added this to our feature list and we will see if we can do something to handle this.
As a work-around, you can create a new retailer in Compare (maybe with a slightly different name if you have the same retailer in Compare+) and then add your manual products to this retailer. This would ensure that Compare+ doesn’t delete the products from this retailer.

I hope you are well and apologies for taking a while to get back to you. I’ve now had a chance to have a look at your problem and it appears that the problem was caused by the missing sub-level category.
In Compare, you need to create a top level category, e.g Computer or Hardware and then you can assign sub-categories to it e.g. Laptop. I’ve done this on your site and the products now show as expected.
You still need to assign your other categories to a suitable top level category.

Yes, it’s possible but it requires a couple of tweaks:
Open _assets/css/custom.css and add:

Then you need to play with the colours and can add background images in the required colours.
