If you are looking to convert your CSS to less there’s a growing list of online code converters out there. I used one a while back. Can’t recall which one it was but it did a good job of converting my code. I believe you’ll find it a lot easier to work with less once the conversion is done. No more needing to code all the different combination of border-radius. Code it just the once for all the different browsers and then just refer to that shortcut every time you need to set the radius.

I purchased Mindscape Web Workbench converter and that was money well spent.

If you are looking for examples of Less in action for a large theme product like yours then I believe twitter bootstrap is a great example.

Thanks for the advice! I also heard of these converters, I will be looking for a good one ;)

There is something wrong with this skin for XP users. We have tested it on Windows XP using different new browsers and we found that the css files can’t be loaded. Any suggests ?

Thanks

Hi,

I doubt this has anything to do with XP, it rather looks like a wrong path to your CSS files. Did you open the files locally (does the url in your browser start by something like file:) ? If so, you should put the files on your local webserver (like WAMP ) – or on any webserver – and access them via http.

If you have already done that, can you tell me if your browser’s console show error messages (use Firebug for Firefox or hit F12 in Chrome/Safari/Opera/IE9+): if you see code 404 errors, this means your browser can’t access the files.

Tell me if you still can’t have this to work, we will find a solution ;)

- We have the skin on our website(no local server used). - The same website is working fine on some machines . - All machines ( XP ) show no errors using Firebug. - This problem doesn’t make sense at all for me. - We use the latest browsers on our machines.

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY XP OS . THIS IS WEBS APP NOT WIN APP

We are going to do more testing with mini.php file tomorrow.

Any suggestions are appreciated :)

Hi again,

Did you try using the Resources panel of the Developer Tools in Chrome to check what CSS /JS files your computers sees, and why they are not loaded?

If you are using the mini.php concatenator, this may be the issue if you have a non-standard php configuration. Try opening the file in your browser to see if there are errors showing.

Does the template loads fine if you use the non-minified syntax for loading assets (separate script/link tags, like in the HTML version) ?

Hope you will find the solution! ;)

Hi, Adding an anchor tag to the H1 in the block-content results in a nice distinct button in the standard style.

The same markup in the mobile style results in just a clickable area next to the header text.

how do we get the same distinct button look in the mobile styles? Thanks and can’t wait to see the new template.

displayinline

Hi,

This style was not included in the mobile layout, but you can achieve something close using this layout:

<h1>
    Title
    <a href="#" class="button small float-right">Link</a>
</h1>

You just need to add this extra style anywhere in mobile.css:

h1 > a.float-right {
    margin: -2px -4px 0 0;
}

Hope you like it! ;)

Hi, I’ve purchased constellation many month ago and I use it well, now I see that you have created awesome new admin (developr). If I buy that, may I upgrade my admin website (html-css) without loss php function or the skins are completly different ?

displayinline

Hi!

The two template have many differences, so if you want to move your admin from one to another you will probably need to rewrite a part of your code.

Also keep in mind that, as a responsive template, Developr requires your content to be able to display on mobile devices too (using template plugins and responsive classes), so you would need to rebuild some of your pages.

But if you like it that much and you are motivated to do this, just go ahead! I will be glad to help you ;)

Can you please point me in the direction where I can find some sample code to use the Calendar/File Upload/Planning and other widgets? I need to add/modify/delete items to these but not sure how to.

Thanks. Pat

I just purchased this and need some advice. We use 2 different web applications that have their own page templates. Header and footers are easy to do. How do I use this and both of our web applications so that the look is consistent?

Each web app have their own class. Will a bootstrap work?

displayinline

Hi,

I need some more information to help you on this: do you have screenshots or an url to show me? You can send me a private message on my profile if you prefer.

I use the week- calendar feature as a way to report . As a result I need to add the missing hours to the view. While I was able to add the hours missing 12 am to 7.30 and 8. Pm to 12. When I do, and adjust the % and add to the CSS , I get a good view in ff, but it misaligns in IE. do you have an example of a week calendar with 24 hours a day on the schedule, or please provide directions

displayinline

Hi!

Well, it is hard to tell without seeing the actual code – can you send me a link to a pastebin or an online demo?

To extend the day to 24H, you must use 4.167% increments for each hour (1.042% per quarter) – but I guess that is what you already made.

This will result in very close lines, maybe is this why IE does poorly… :S

Can I get your opinion on the following:

In help.js I believe the line of code:

$('a[href^="content/"]').live('click', function(event)
{

Should maybe be replaced with:

$(document).on('click', 'a[href^="content/"]',  function()
 {

Using on because as of jQuery 1.7, the .live() method is deprecated. Using the $(document) as this way it will always be attached to the document element.

displayinline

Hi!

Sure, you can use the on() method as advised by the jQuery team. The template was created before this syntax went out, it just needs a little updating – working on it! ;)

So far I’m loving this template and I’ve got some grand plans and ideas for it. But I’m finding glitches inside chrome. Even the help file doesn’t work in chrome. When clicking to open a page on the help documents it doesn’t actually load the page content…

Any ideas what the problem is here?

displayinline

Hi!

This is a know issue, related to Chrome very restrictive sandbox on local files. You may either open the documentation in another modern browser (Firefox, Safari, Opera, IE9 …), or put the files on your local webserver and access them through http – everything will work fine then ;)

Tell me if you notice any other bug!

That’s interesting but thanks for letting me know. I had already opened it up in Firefox so all is good there. I just don’t want any issues when deploying my system.

I’ll upload the help to my local server and test again.

Other than that – excellent work and excellent documentation. Seriously 10/10.

Hi displayinline, how can make one label and two inputs (type=radio) inline ?

I try with: <span id="P_sesso"> <input id="P_sesso_0" type="radio" name="P[sesso]" value="m" style="margin-top:5px;"> <label for="P_sesso_0">Uomo</label> <input id="P_sesso_1" type="radio" name="P[sesso]" value="f" style="margin-top:5px;"> <label for="P_sesso_1">Donna</label> </span>

in three columns divs style …. but not work :(

tnx ;)

displayinline

Hi!

You just need to add class=”inline” to your labels, this will prevent them from displaying as blocks:

<span id="P_sesso">
    <input id="P_sesso_0" type="radio" name="P[sesso]" value="m" style="margin-top:5px;">
    <label for="P_sesso_0" class="inline">Uomo</label>
    <input id="P_sesso_1" type="radio" name="P[sesso]" value="f" style="margin-top:5px;">
    <label for="P_sesso_1" class="inline">Donna</label>
</span>

You will find more details about form elements layout in the documentation, in CSS classes / Form.

Hello Displayline, I have some issues 1.Image shows the form without css
2.Second image i have control panel with some icons those are same as navigation . when i click an icon in control panel respective icon from navigation bar should highlighted. It navigates but it does not highlight current icon
3. Issue is i want to highlight black button from navigation “Mail” Thanks in advance

displayinline

Hi!

About your first question, you must use a form with the class form to wrap your element, or they won’t be styled. Can you make sure there is one?

For both second and third questions, you just need to add the class current to the elements you want to show as active. You may do this either server-side (it depends on your setup) or in the browser, using a bit of jQuery.

Tell me if you need more details! ;)

Hi, the notify message appears in a black info box. Is there a way to display it in other colors? Regards Andrea

displayinline

Hi!

Sure, this is easy: use the classes option of the notify() method to pass any color class, for instance:

notify('Title', 'message', {
    classes: ['red-gradient', 'glossy']
});

Tell me if you need more details! ;)

hmmm, does not seem to work…

displayinline

Not at all? Here is how the code I gave you looks like in the default template files:

How does it looks for you?

Default-user

this is not for the constellation skin ;)

displayinline

Woops, really sorry! I have so many questions for this other template, I answered too fast without looking :S

For Constellation, you have two solutions:

  • Either change the default color for all notifications, in standard.css at line 1846: change the background for #notifications li
  • Or add an option to use a custom background for each notification: replace the notify() code in standard.js by this one, and use the new background and color options to set any background and text color you want (color, image…):

    notify('Message', { background: 'white', color: 'blue'});

Hope this helps, and sorry again for the mistake! ;)

:) the replacement script works like a charm… thank you for the quick support

Hey its working, thanks. But i have another query for you. in one form i have tabs and out of them one tab has mini tab. problem is that all data and tabs are loaded dynamically. when i load them statically it works fine . when tabs loaded dynamically in to div its not working properly. I checked by firebug post request returns proper data but it not working i have used $(’.js-tabs’).updateTabs(); and also tried $(’.mini-tabs’).updateTabs(); still problem unsolved . have i forgot somthing. Thanks in advance

displayinline

Hi!

Did you try applying the global setup function of the template applyTemplateSetup() on the loaded content container? Most of the time it will do the job for you.

You will find more about it in the documentation, in Functions / Template setup.

Tell me if this does not solve your issue, I will try to find another solution ;)

hey friend how to correct this.and in calender i want to restrict year as i am using calender for date of birth.

Thanks in advance

displayinline

Hi!

About the datepicker, make sure you have the stylesheet calendars.css loaded, it is required by the plugin.

About the date range, you may use the minDate and maxDate options of the plugin – check the plugin website for more details.

Hope this helps! ;)

There are a lot of great stuff in the template and it helps me a lot.

Now, in the template, I’m using iframe in the openmodal function to open a.apsx file and I will have to open b.aspx within a.aspx. But, I would want to see them as 2 modals. Rightnow, the second (b.aspx) replaces a.aspx. Is that possible to achieve? Thanks in advance.

displayinline

Hi, and thanks! :)

To call function() in the parent document of your iframe, just use the parent.function() syntax. For instance, if you want to open a modal from inside you iframe, use something like this:

parent.$.modal({
    useIframe: true,
    url: 'b.aspx',
    title: 'Title',
    buttons: {
        'Close': function(win) { win.closeModal(); }
    }
});

Note that this will work only if both documents are from the same domain.

Tell me if you need more help! ;)

Hey thanks man you saved me….! yes its working. sorry for troubling you i have one more thing to ask. I am using your presentation style for element as you suggested in Doc when I am validating. But its not working for text area,select & date error class applied but it’s border does not turns in to red. I have placed element in span with class relative.and I want to show errors as like in second image so applied-children-tip and placed error in title but its not showing as like image 2. is it possible to show it …

// function for showing error
function j_error(id,msg)
{
$(’#’+id).before(’<<spaan class=”relative tags with-children-tip”>’);
$(’#’+id).addClass(‘error’);
$(’#’id).after(’<spaan class=”check-error” title=”’+msg’”></spaan>’);
}
// function for removing error class etc
function j_ok(id)
{
$(’#’+id).removeClass(‘error’);
$(’#’+id).next(’.check-error’).remove();

}
(spaan=span) thank you…

displayinline

Hi!

Your functions look great, but there are a few mistakes: the span with the class relative does not wrap the input, and you should rather use the class with-tip on the check-error element.

Here is how I would rewrite them:

function j_error(id, msg)
{
    // Add error class
    $('#'+id).addClass('error')

    // Wrap in relative span
        .wrap('<span class="relative" />')

    // Append error icon
        .after('<span class="check-error with-tip" title="'+msg+'" />').next().tip();
}

// function for removing error class etc
function j_ok(id)
{
    // Remove error class
    $('#'+id).removeClass('error')

    // Unwrap from relative span
        .unwrap()

    // Remove error icon
        .next('.check-error').remove();
}

Hope this helps! ;)

What changes to the CSS would I need to make to get the mini-menu working with icon-list’s and arbo lists??

displayinline

Hi!

The mini-menu will work fine in icons list, just add the class relative to each li where you insert it. Just remember to put the menu in the li, not in the inner link.

In arbo lists, this is not possible by default, as there are many CSS inheritance issues. As an alternative, you may use the contextual menu plugin, it works fine everywhere ;)

Default-user
Wizbyt Purchased

Added the “relative” class to the li and tried it with the mini-menu code from example page outside of the inner link as suggested.

In Chrome the menu buttons are huge and horizontal, in Firefox the menu is rendered vertically with huge buttons. Thought I might have messed up the CSS but this is all original CSS .

Any ideas where I might have gone wrong?

Can you show me a sample of the code you are using? This will help me guide you. If your code sample is long, please use Pastebin to avoid messing the comments ;)

Hi.

The code showing the problem is below and is taken from index.html that comes with the template so you can hopefully see it working with the stock css and images etc.

<section class="grid_6">
    <div class="block-border"><div class="block-content">
        <h1>Icon list</h1>
        <ul class="icon-list icon-user">
            <li class="relative">
                <a href="#">
                    <span class="icon" />
                    John Doe<br />
                    <small>Male, 28</small>
                </a>
                <ul class="mini-menu">
                    <li><a href="#" title="Edit"><img src="images/icons/fugue/pencil.png" width="16" height="16" /></a></li>
                    <li><a href="#" title="Send mail"><img src="images/icons/fugue/mail.png" width="16" height="16" /></a></li>
                    <li><a href="#" title="Delete"><img src="images/icons/fugue/cross-circle.png" width="16" height="16" /> Delete</a></li>
                </ul>
            </li>
        </ul>
    </div></div>
</section>

Thanks.

displayinline

Hi!

Oh, ok: I did not test on the same markup as yours, thus I did not see the issue ;) To fix it, just replace the whole icon-list styles block from css/block-lists.css (lines 495-549) by this one.

Everything works fine now with the stock files, but tell me if you notice any other issue.

Hope this helps! ;)
