Your demo does not work on IE 8 … shows the following error:

The same happens on my site too.

Indeed. I bought this template for a customer site with specific need for IE 8 support (from the client) and am still waiting for a resolution from Squidix. However, I didn’t get any of the errors you mentioned. IE 8 just doesn’t render the pages correctly – especially the navigation which show up as regular bulleted lists.

Hello I have some pre-sales questions. Where can I post it? Here or should I contact somebody by email? Thanks for the reply Frank

Either one. If you want to contact us by support ticket you can do so at:

Hello, is it possible to change the white background? and consequently, is it possible to change the colour of type in the menus? thanks

You can change the colors in Appearance > Theme Options > Styling.

I noticed when I hit the home button on my site, the slideshow area scrambles up. Like all of the slideshow elements come up and then its fine. Is that normal? Here is a link to the site so you can see for yourself. www.boostmyviral.com thank you!

This depends on your connection speed. This is normal, it’s just pulling the javascript scripts and arranging it properly.

Sorry about posting again.. But while I wait for the Squidix team to fix this issue… anyone having trouble can try and use the jQuery Updater Plugin in wordpress to resolve this… http://www.ramoonus.nl/wordpress/jquery-updater/

I have checked it on IE8 and it seems to be working.

Thanks for that post! If it works, please do not refrain from trying it. We are working on checking out the compatibility.

Hi Squdix-Team On IE8 / Win7 Enterprise I’m getting this error:

As IE8 is announced to be compatible: why does this happen? Just FYI : I do not have an outdated IE installation, I’m working from a corporate PC with no admin access to Windows. As the company I’m working for is a big enterprise, with 10’000s of employees, all runnning on the same IE version, this problem is not to put at “low prio”.

Thanks for clariying why this problems occurs and how it can be fixed.

BTW : on my private PC with Firefox, everything works fine.

We are working on the compatibility issues and will be letting everyone know shortly. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you can post your problems to a support ticket so our developers can be notified and it can be formally logged that’d be great.

Might save the developers some headache if they just come out and say its not backward compatible with IE8 . Saying its crossbrowser compatible gets misconstrued by IE8 users so that they think it includes them. Its not astonishing to have this issue, HTML5 has progressed nicely and in most cases it just doesn’t make sense to throw a ton of time at IE8 development unless your user-base is dominated by IE8 users which to that I say get with the program. Furthermore everyone on here complaining about lack of IE8 compatibility needs to realize exactly what they’re demanding.

If an organization wants to use and support outdated technology they should expect outdated web experiences, it doesn’t make fiscal sense any more to throw worker’s time (which = money) at developing for a rapidly deprecating browser. The only thing propping IE8 up right now is corporations still using XP that refuse to go through a system wide upgrade. On top of that, all you people rocking out XP and IE8 – go get Firefox and wash your hands of IE8 entirely because this trajectory web technology is going won’t stop.

Even if Squidix they were to make it theoretically compatible with IE8 , it would more than likely be much less impressive comparatively speaking because of all the techniques involved here that are unsupported. Great example is the PageLines framework – fantastic product and although it technically works in IE8 it looks like dog shit. I rarely get calls at complaining because there’s this obnoxious ribbon that’s placed on the site if they’re using IE8 which basically says, use at your own risk.

I know this philosophy may not be popular with the posters here but I believe this is an issue with you and your business technology practices, not Squidix.

Thanks for your post. We are working on the IE8 compatibility and will let everyone know what comes of it. We are not just letting this slide like most people appear to be posting. We are honestly doing our best to keep quality and the compatibility.

I wish I would’ve known this when I bought the theme a month ago that it isn’t compatible with Internet Explorer! I bought this theme, using HOMEPAGE 1 , and having terrible problems with Internet Explorer. There should’ve been some sort of note somewhere.

I wonder why there is no basic css-funcitions on many templates, for example “Blank” and “full width”? Now I have to use Right nav with no widgets, which not is a good substitute on a responsive site.

The things I wan’t to use is bullets, quotes, space between paragraphs for example.

I would like to have a standard page template with no side navigation, that can use lists, bullets and all that stuff…. Is that hard to fix?

Jakoby, can you please make a support ticket? Thanks!

Great looking template! One quick question regarding the pricing page. I would like to list my services without having any one service standout. Is it possible to have each service be the same size or is the middle service always the biggest? Thanks.

You can change this by taking out the

  • and and the extra in the professional package.
  • hello, nice – awesome looking template.

one question…if you click on teh feature drop down a sidebar is shown with a “arrow” navigation. Is this navigation with sidebar on teh left included in teh site template section ??

if so u wil lahve a new client :) thanks for a quick answer i nadvance.

    Yes, that’s included.

Hi squidix, I’ve opened a ticket one week ago about the no compatibility with IE8 of this theme. Do you find any solution?

I’m sorry but I bought this theme because it was compatible whit IE8!!

I would like to use HomePage 2, but apparantly TimThumb thinks different. The images I upload are not displayed on my homepage, because the URL TimThumb makes of it is not correct: http://pgs-company.nl/wp-content/themes/Construct/timthumb.php?src=http%3A%2F%2Fpgs-company.nl%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2012%2F12%2FParkeer-indicatie.jpg&w=1000&h=428

Even without all the %2F stuff replaced by normal slashes (by hand) the URL it generates is not working.

    Could you help please?

Please open a support ticket, and you’ll need to remove the password block for us to help you.

I experienced the same thing with Homepage 2. A few other critical things don’t really work either – there seems to be a significant issue with the ‘Icons’ section as well. Saving is a total crapshoot – let’s say you have 4 icons you’ve added and saved. Now try adding a 5th one and saving it – you’ll notice that more than likely it overrides the 4th one. I bet its a quick fix but we need to draw attention to the developers because it is an issue for sure.

All in all I was pretty disappointed with the quality and responsiveness of the admin dashboard and above any other complaints I had was how they render all the color and font styles set in admin as inline styles making it all but impossible to really customize a site built with this theme. Squidix you’ve got to let people use child themes on top of your premium theme – that’s how you’ll get even more buyers. Also its essentially impossible to use typekit and cufon because of this inline style rendering. Hopefully they can address these because I think it has a lot of potential.

Outside of the problematic admin and style rendering – they’ve put together a shortcode library and tools for content development that is pretty unrivaled. That really impressed me, now they just need to fix these other issues, improve their support/response times, and they’ll have a 5 star theme on their hands.

Same here, bought the template. Now realizing IE8 is a mess. No support for IE7 is exaptable (it’s 7 years old), but IE8 isn’t. This is a 3 year old browser. In what timespan will this be fixed?

I don’t think i need to open a support ticket, since there have been opened a few tickets regarding this issue already by other customers. Right?

Hi How does wordk the tweeter id in the theme

Hi, do you have an idea of when the IE compatibility issues will be resolved ?

I’m definitely going to purchase this theme when you have sorted out these issues.

These have been solved and you can receive the newest update by downloading the package again.
