Hi I would like to use facebook comments but they align to the far left of the page and I can’t see how to get them to align on the center of the screen.

I am not sure what to change to get them to center hope you can help.

Sorry! If you look now the facebook comments are active.

I don’t know if you’ve put it manually in code, but they should be in
<div class="container clearfix"> FACEBOOK COMMENTS HERE </div>

I’m having a few issues with the default image borders. At first when I was upload images that were larger than 700px, I could just insert them into a post with the default size and they would resize with a border around them. Suddenly those images have expanded again. I went it and manually set the image width to 700px but I loose the border… but just on some pictures. I can’t seem to figure out why this is. Here is a post where you can see what I mean.

The top image has the border but the others don’t. Let me know how I can fix this. Thanks.

After testing it a bit, it looks like if you make any changes to the image after uploading it and inserting it into the post, the “size-full” will be deleted for some reason. Linking the photo seems to also cause the “size-full” to disappear. I guess I can just manually insert it any time I make a change.

purethemes

What changes you do to picture? It shoudn’t happen if picture is already inserted in post, strange..

Default-user

On my other blogs I never add a (a href) code to the images but with your prettyPhoto lightbox I decided to go back and add the (a href) to the images so they would pop up. That seemed to be what took out the “size-full” code. If I leave the link in the picture when I insert it, the “size-full” shows up. The problem is that I didn’t have links on any of the images and when I went back to add them I guess it messed up the “size-full”

Hi, me again – here’s a question hubby can’t figure out – is there a way to resize the featured recipe slideshow on the home page? It’s kinda bigger than I’d like.

Thanks!

You can change height of slider in CookingPress -> Slider Manager, after that you can use this plugin to http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ create featured images in new size.

Hi,

I’m trying to upgrade to v1.3 of the CookingPress theme but when I upload the zip file in the “Install theme” section of WP admin, I get the error message below. How do I fix this? Please advise.

Thanks!

Installing Theme from uploaded file: themeforest-1718890-cookingpress-recipe-food-wordpress-theme.zip

Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Theme install failed.

purethemes

You need to first extract the zip file you’ve downloaded, and than upload just folder with theme, using your FTP manager.

Hi. I love this theme and it’s everything that I think my wife will like for her site (as a gift). I am trying to convert her current recipes website into the wordpress and cookingpress blog. Is there a way to take database tables of recipes and categories and write an sql query to simply import the results into the wordpress/cookingpress database tables? I have been going through each recipe one-by-one, but it’s taking forever to do and I was hoping to do a quick conversion.

Thanks.

purethemes

Sorry but there’s no easy way to convert it. And I know your pain, this whole theme idea was for my fiancee’s cooking blog, and I had to do the same thing ;)

I purchased the theme just now. When i tried to install it , it fails. Below is the error log..

It’s kind of frustrating. I installed so many free themes and they never failed like this. I thought a paid theme should work better.

purethemes

Hi

You need to first extract file you’ve downloaded from ThemeForest, theme is inside of it along with documentation, license, and other files. You need to upload only theme folder to your WordPress. This might be helpfull http://support.envato.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/269/0/my-wordpress-theme-isnt-working-what-should-i-do

Dear Purethemes,

Tried for many hours to fix an error I get. Both with Wordpress 3.2 and 3.4.2.

Seems like it has to do with featured image.

purethemes

Hi

did you start it on fresh installation or you had already some posts? If you had try to run this plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ If that won’t help or it’s fresh installation try to change line 425 to
$file_path = rtrim( ABSPATH, '/' ).$file_path['path'];

if that won’t help please open private ticket with details to your wp-admin http://purethemes.ticksy.com/ I’ll check it.

Hi. I have a question, and I’m sorry if it’s an easy answer, but I don’t know how to change the green color for the ‘elegant’ theme – is there an easy way to do this? Also, just fyi, the ‘IN’ before the categories section (at the bottom of the recipes) on Torn Paper 1 is italicized, and ‘Ingredients’ is misspelled on the ‘add new’ button on ‘submit a recipe’, do you think you could fix those? or maybe tell me how to? Sorry, I’m kinda new to all this. . . Thanks, I love the theme. : )

purethemes

Hi

You’d need to go through /css/style-elegant.css and change every color declaration for your choosen color, and also edit file images/bg/elegant.jpg

Sorry for mistakes in some words. You can change it in theme files, or I’ll try to update it Thanks!

Just for information, if you want to build a chiltheme for this theme you have to change one line in the backend code and also move some files from the cookingpress theme to the childtheme.

  1. Copy the functions.php and all php files from the backend folder into your childtheme folder with the same folder structure
  2. Edit the purepress-functions.php file. You have to change line 220 from
      echo get_template_directory_uri();
    to
      echo get_stylesheet_directory_uri();
Now the childtheme should load the css files form the css folder. Until now no error occurred, but i wont guarantee that these are only changes that you have to make for a fully functional child.

By the way you have created a wonderful theme.

purethemes

Thank you very much! I’ll remember this for next update.

Default-user

after testing this in a working enviroment i saw that copying the functions.php to the childtheme is a very dumb thing to do.

So it is easier to change the include of the backend files in the cookingpress functions.php. You have to change the lines 23-33 in the funtction.php from

require_once ( backend/purepress-functions.php'); // Custom functions and plugins
require_once ( backend/purepress-core.php'); // Admin Interface!
require_once ( backend/purepress-options.php'); // Options!
require_once ( backend/purepress-sidebars.php'); // Sidebars
require_once ( backend/purepress-widgets.php'); // Widgets
require_once ( backend/purepress-shortcodes.php'); // Widgets
require_once ( backend/purepress-metaboxes.php'); // Post metaboxes
require_once ( backend/purepress-dynjs.php'); // AJAX functions
require_once ( backend/sidebars.php'); // Unlimited sidebars generator
require_once ( backend/slider.php'); // Unlimited sidebars generator
require_once ( backend/tinymce.php'); // TinyMce support for shortcodes

to

require_once ( get_stylesheet_directory().'/backend/purepress-functions.php'); // Custom functions and plugins
require_once ( get_stylesheet_directory().'/backend/purepress-core.php'); // Admin Interface!
require_once ( get_stylesheet_directory().'/backend/purepress-options.php'); // Options!
require_once ( get_stylesheet_directory().'/backend/purepress-sidebars.php'); // Sidebars
require_once ( get_stylesheet_directory().'/backend/purepress-widgets.php'); // Widgets
require_once ( get_stylesheet_directory().'/backend/purepress-shortcodes.php'); // Widgets
require_once ( get_stylesheet_directory().'/backend/purepress-metaboxes.php'); // Post metaboxes
require_once ( get_stylesheet_directory().'/backend/purepress-dynjs.php'); // AJAX functions
require_once ( get_stylesheet_directory().'/backend/sidebars.php'); // Unlimited sidebars generator
require_once ( get_stylesheet_directory().'/backend/slider.php'); // Unlimited sidebars generator
require_once ( get_stylesheet_directory().'/backend/tinymce.php'); // TinyMce support for shortcodes

Now the include files from the backend will be included from the childtheme folder.

Thanks for the tip and sorry for this problem!

Curious if it is possible to have a static home page that contains only a header, menu, slider and footer. If so how is this done? I want to basically remove the widgets and the content section only on the home page. Thanks in advance!

purethemes

Hi

you can use page template “template-codaslider.php” and remove from this lines 19-57, what you need is just: get_header(); and get_footer(); left.

Thanks for the quick response! One last question. The solution above worked for removing my content however there still appears to be “area” showing up where the content use to be. Can this be removed as well?

purethemes
Sure, add to style.css
.home .bottom {
  background: none repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
  box-shadow: none;
}

Hello, I just bougth this template. I have a few questions:

1) How do I remove date on popular post widget ?

2) How do I remove date and author like “By admin, October 15, 2012” on recipes ?

3) How can I change design of yellow box on recipe ? I dont like it that much lol :)

Thanks a lot and congratulation, it’s a wonderful template

purethemes

Hi

ad1) edit file backend/widgets.php, remove the_time(get_option(‘date_format’)); from line 485

ad2) You can select what to show/hide in Theme Options

ad3) Firebug + CSS ;) if that doesn’t tell you anything it will be rather hard to customize

Thanks!

Me again :/ lol

I aslo want to disable click on thumbnail photo in the recipe … Is that possible ?

Thanks !

purethemes

Change line 433 in purepress-shortcodes.php to this:

if($image_src[0]) $output .= '<img itemprop="image" src="'.$image_src[0].'" class="photo recipe-image" width="'.$image_src[1].'" height="'.$image_src[2].'" alt="'.$title.'" />';

Hello, I have problems …

1) I talk about admin and date just under recipe title. Not below post …

2) I changed line 433 in purepress-shortcodes.php as you told me but we still can click on image thumbail … You can check my website: www.recette-gateau.com

3) I Put correctly pl_PL in config.php but the website still show English.

4) Shortlink on homepage is wrong. It is recette-gateau.com/115

Sorry for my questions … :/

purethemes

More detailed description of your problem will help next time.

ad1. It’s required by microformats, but I guess you can hide it in CSS , add to style.css ”#author-data { display: none; }”

ad2. Again – more detailed explanation of your problem – you’re talking about post – not recipe. Remove line 40 and 42 from loop.php.

ad3. pl_PL is for polish language – I guess by the domain you’re not from Poland ;) you need to translate .po file according to instruction which you’ll find in Theme Documentation

ad4. Shortlinks on your page look like this http://www.recette-gateau.com/?p=75 so it’s ok, if you want real shortlinks you need to install JetPack http://jetpack.me/support/wp-me-shortlinks/

Hope that helps ;)

Hello, me again.

I’m wondering why when google indexes my recipes they’re not showing up as a recipe in google? They’re still showing up as a normal blog post? I have cooking press > options panel > recipe configuration > recipe microformat : hRecipe

am I missing something? Do I need to turn this on elsewhere?

thanks,

Jenn www.adeptgourmet.com/blog

purethemes

You can test it here http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.adeptgourmet.com%2Fblog%2Fapple-cake.html&html=

It shows correctly that google recognized recipe microformat. Here you can find more info http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=173379&topic=1088474&ctx=topic it just might take time to show up in search results

Hello,

No I’m not from poland but before editing in .po and .mo files I tries to turnes my website in Polish just to test. Si I put pl_PL in config.php but the website is still in English … I guess translation is not linked to IP localisation right ?

purethemes

You need to also have define('WPLANG', ''pl_PL); in wp-config.php
