Would it be possible to get a Pinterest button added to the social area?
Hi!
yes, it’s possible, just open sidebar.php and right before in line 95 addIf it won’t show, edit style.css and remove height from ”.widget.socialize” (or forget about it if you have the latest version, and if you don’t have the latest, you should get it
just download theme again from “Downloads” tab and overwrite old files)
I’ll also add this in next update if you don’t want to edit code.
hello, it looks realy nice.im just thinking if its posible to change front page.I mean im looking to make something like social network for people that will post recipes,so it dont look much as a blog.So i was thinking ,if i could change front page and put like every day some news ,posts, and recipes picture bellow those posts, with smaller resolution. Sorry if this question is stupid, but i have no idea of using wp.im realy new and i would need support
.thx
Hi, I think I know what you’re asking about, I’m not planing to add layout options like you’re asking about, but you can always hire someone to do that
It’s not complicated.
Hi thanks for the great theme! It’s very elegant and so well-organized. Just wondering that how can we embed “foodspotting” into the theme? Have you thought about this? Thanks a lot!
Hi
I’ve just checked this service, but I’m not sure what can be embeded
thanks!
Hi another question is that I posted a instagram photo as feature image, but when it shows on the slider of homepage the wording position is incorrect. Could you help to fix the problem? Or what we can do when we posting a square image? The URL is: http://thechiliseed.com
Thanks!
Hi sorry one more question: Can we grouping our ingredients? I believe that in many cases we need to tell users that “add a, b, c and d first”. If we can put different ingredients into different groups, it will be much easier to share some advanced recipe. Do you think it’s possible to add to your next update? Thanks again!
Hi
If you’r uploading square photo, it has te be at least 770×770px, but you can make small fix for you to work, go to wp-admin -> cookingPress -> Colour options, and paste to Custom CSS box.panel-wrapper h2 { top:333px; bottom: auto; }As for your request about grouping ingredients, I can’t promise anything but I’ll think about it.
thanks
Thanks a lot for your prompt response. The custom CSS works but it doesn’t show the category. However we are happy enough. Thanks!
.panel-wrapper p { bottom: auto; top: 396px; }to fix categoryHi! Great work!
I’ve two questions:
1) how can I update the language file after a theme update without re-translating all phrases?
2) can you add the option to enable/disable the author info footer in post/pages?
Hi
ad1. It should work without retranslating all phrases. I’ll check it, but here is good tutorial how to use PoEdit http://weblogtoolscollection.com/archives/2007/08/27/localizing-a-wordpress-plugin-using-poedit/
ad2. I was sure I’ve added it! I had this in a brief
My mistake, I’ll add it in next update (probably next week)
Thanks!
Before I buy it, does the homepage slider have an auto slide feature? It doesn’t change selection for me automatically but I assume it’s an option. Thanks.
Hi
yes, it require adding small change in js file but I’ll help with that. It’s not added as an option yet ( somehow I forgot about this
) but it will be in next update.
Thanks
Thank you for such a quick response. I just wanted to make sure we could add the function in the js. Will be buying very soon!
Do you plan to add more recipe/page layouts in next updates? It would be awesome!
Hi
I’m sure I’ll add more, if you have some ideas for recipe layouts feel free to share it
I’ve another two questions.
1) Does the theme let to hide the “Powered By Wordpress” in the footer? 2) What about AdSense integration? Have you planned this for next updates?
ad1. Remove line 36 from footer.php ad2. No, I don’t think it make sense, there are tons of great plugins for AdSense managment and integrations http://bit.ly/GDr9Ap I don’t need to “reinvent the wheel” by duplicating this plugins functionality in my theme
I’m agree for the AdSense part. But.. for the “Powered By” removal I suggest you to add an option in next update to avoid customers to edit code after every theme update..
I’ll add it
Ok.. i’m annoying.. but have another question:
What about introducing a theme update feature?
I was using that feature in previous theme, in the end it causes more problems than it solves. It require some functions which not always are available on some hosting, so few buyers had errors right after installation, other bought for clients and didn’t want to have such a feature to not give them info that it’s bought template.. I’ve remove it, hoping that ThemeForest will come up with some “Update notice” functionality, but they haven’t..
And no, you’re not annoying
Cheers
Thank you for your quick replies. I’ll wait for next updates!
Another small but major thing I’d love to see.. possibly before I buy it is to have the ratings front & center on the main site. I see that it’s clearly integrated once you click on a item but it’d be awesome to have it next to each item on the front page & also on the slider. I want to buy this theme very soon, how fast could be that done? Assuming you would do that.
Other then that, I think the frontpage is pretty fantastic. I just really want to see the stars!
There is a couple of things for next update and I hope it will be ready by Monday, I’ll add your request to the list.
Cheers
Awesome, I’ll look forward to what you produce monday & I’ll go from there. Thanks!
I just upgraded to v1.1. For the next version, can you add Pinterest to both the social widget in center column of the footer and to the Share this! widget that appears in the sidebar?
Also, when clicking on the icons in social widget (middle column, footer), can the links open in a new page?
Thanks!
Added to the list! Thanks!
Also awaiting the update on Monday…!
Quick comment on the current live preview and browser width. Could you kindly please have look at the behavior at the pin-right.png and pin-left.png on posts? Especially on very narrow browser width (mobile device)..!
I’m helping a friend out with his site and he purchased your theme a week ago. I have a question about the thumbnail sizes in the CookingPress recent posts widget. I can’t get the thumbs to be the same (small) size as you have. My thumbnails are way too large (160px) and squash the text out of the way. I’ve tried resizing the featured image in the recipe post and I’ve run the plugin Regenerate thumbnails, but no luck so far… what am I doing wrong?
Hi
can you send me link to your website?
The live website doesn’t yet utilize this widget… I’m tweaking on a local server using Mamp just to see how different things look and work. I’ll first try the widget out on the live site and see if the thumbs show up correctly. If not, I’ll send you a link.
Thanks for the speedy reply!
Hi, thanks again for answering so quickly.
That piece of code is in there. I’ll test the widget live and let you know if it’s working.
The theme was purchased on March 13th.
Hi, The thumbnails work fine on the live site. It must be something to do with the local mamp-site that doesn’t do what it should. I also noticed that changing fonts doesn’t (always) work on the mamp-site.
Anyway, we’re happy!
Thanks for your help!
A couple of things:
1) I’ve update to 1.1 but in the admin panel I see v 1.0.1.
2) I’ve problems with page titles. E.g. In a post I see the title of another post. Maybe a compatibility issue with SEO wordpress plugin by Yoast? Take a look yourself: http://bit.ly/GHlaIz
Hi
ad1. Yes, I forgot to update version number.. sorry ad2. Please open header.php and change line 10 (the one with title) to<title><?php wp_title(); ?></title>and let me know if that helpsThanks!
Hi Purethemes,
We now have another dilemma. We have a dish that consists of 3 different recipes, but they have to be made (and eaten) together. The recipe module in the theme only allows for 1 recipe with its ingredients and instructions. So how can we combine the other 2? Do you have any suggestions how we could resolve this?
I can imagine that this could be a problem for other types of cuisine. For example, an Indonesian rice table consists of a combination of different dishes. They can all be eaten separately, but they are often combined into 1 dish.
Thanks for any help you can offer!
Hi
I’m working on a solution for that, but the biggest problem is, that main feature of this theme and reason behind having recipe module is compatibility with schema.org and hrecipe format, and I’m not sure how google and search engines react to more than one recipe element on a single page. Someone here posted a link to his blog based on CookingPress where he managed to put more than one recipe.
For now I can only suggets to put “main” dish into the Recipe Form, while describing other as normal text in post content.
Downloaded this theme a few days ago and very happy with it. A really great example. Once small point, when viewing an individual recipe the title for the ingredients has two colons after it “ingredients::”, how do i remove one of these so it is consistent with all the other headers ?
Hi
sorry for that, please open purepress-shortcodes.php and around line 443 there should be “Ingredients:, just remove.
Thanks!
