In the documentation, what is the difference between an Ajax Portfolio (D3-B) and a Non Ajax Portfolio (D3-C)? I want my portfolio pieces to be layed out as you have them with the image, title, and category.
1). Ajax Portfolio: Open the item on homepage, Non Ajax Portfolio: Open the item in the single page.
2). Have you added the portfolio items? Show me the page that you have issue.
Hi, When I try and add new images now I get this error message: “BBCiPlayer_UK.jpg” has failed to upload due to an error The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.
My image file sizes are all under the stated maxium of 33mb

Really? Is there a way to get it with a plug in? Having the ability to add a video either by embedding or a link from vimeo or youtube to a portfolio containing images as well is quite important for creatives. For example advertising campaigns would consist of many forms of media including images and video.

How do you get the thumbnail crop of the image that I make in the media library to show up on the front end website? When I make and save a thumbnail crop in media library, it shows up in the list there, but does not update the crop in the portfolio list and on the website itself?
You don’t need to crop the images, it image size has been set in my functions, if you want to change the height, I can tell you where can you change it.
My reason for wanting to crop the images is to make a more visually appealing thumbnail on the site. The automatic thumbnails that are produced are not the best crops visually. How do I change what is shown as a thumbnail on the site?
It does’t support to use your cropped image as the thumbnail.
There seems to be a lot of basic portfolio functions that I am discovering, this theme doesn’t support. I would highly suggest looking into adding those as features as almost all portfolio sites such as Behance, Cargo, Carbonmade etc. have these as standard.
1. The ability to add video (link or embed) within a portfolio containing images. This one is extremely important for creative professionals to showcase their work as multiple media formats are generally used within ‘Projects’. I assumed this feature was available as I have not seen it not offered elsewhere. Not being able to add video within a portfolio containing other media severely restricts the work I want to showcase (advertising campaigns).
2. Being able to select what part of the image you want to feature as a thumbnail should be offered as standard. Visual people (who would most likely be customers of a creative portfolio theme) want to be able to choose how their work is presented in all facets – this includes how the thumbnail of an image looks.
I don’t have html knowledge and this is my first time using wordpress. When I purchased the theme I thought these features would be part of the ‘creative portfolio’ package, or at least possible.
This is all intended as constructive feedback and if there is a way for you to add those features in the theme, it would make it highly attractive to all creative professionals and your theme would be that much better for it.
Thanks for your advices, but I have no plan to add these in the theme at the moment. Maybe will think about these in the future.
Great template Matt! I’m a little stuck though. I have the short code for the icon boxes but I cannot figure out where in the Theme Settings I’m supposed to put it. I had assumed it would be on the Homepage tab but I do not see a place for it.

Ah yes it says ‘related news’, not ‘posts’, on homepage. I said ‘related post’ in the OP. So what’s the difference between Posts and News? Is it Post=portfolio item, News=blog item? So you’re saying that ‘Related News’ (showing blog items) is actually a function on the home page then, as it does show on the demo and my theme version. But I still have the same problem; only one ‘Related News’ item is showing at the bottom of the Homepage on my site and I cannot make any others appear. How can I fix this? I did import my blog posts from Tumblr using the Wordpress import. Could this have caused an issue? thanks for the reply
1). Recent News Or Recent Posts, it’s just a name, you can set them in the backend: Coraline => Settings => Front Page.
2). I’m not sure I can understand you clearly. I noticed that the recent news (blog posts) are showing on your homepage, so what’s your issue now?
The issue is only 1 item shows. I want to show a few blog posts, but only one shows up. I’ve added featured images to posts, given gategories to them and added those category ID’s to the frontpage settings. I’ve made sure the other posts are set the exact same way as the ONE post that does show, but they still do not show. SO the problem is, only ONE shows up. I can’t make ANY others appear. I’m either not doing something right, or there is a bug somewhere?

Fixed now. I was setting the Cat ID’s in settings>frontpage using WORDS, when I should have used NUMBERS. As I had only set a few odd posts with a featured image, it just displayed the very first post. Thanks for the help!
I’m having trouble lining up the last of 3 columns on my home page. It’s showing up slightly higher than the first 2 columns. However, on any other page I add 3 columns, they are all aligned. I’ve checked the html code to make sure there were no extra br or hr. Have you seen this happen before?

Hi Matt: I purchased your Coraline Template and am having some challenges with creating my filterable portfolio. It says the portfolio not found. I have the categories set up but don’t understand how and where to start uploading my images and project information so the images go under the right category. I am NEW and GREEN to WordPress. 1). Go to dashboard => portfolios => Add New
2). In the current post => Portfolio Options => Types => Image or Slidershow.
3). In the current post => Image Options => Upload images (Don’t insert them.)

Hey Matt, quick question.. One of the things I really like about this theme is the Ajax portfolio. I don’t want to have the portfolio on my homepage, but I want to have the Ajax feature on the page titled “Portfolio”. Is there a way to do that?
I tried changing the page’s template to “homepage” and using the “FrontPage” settings in the admin to activate only the portfolio. I also tried changing the template to “full-width” and inserting the ajax portfolio using shortcode, but the alignment and spacing was way off and it also put everything in a white box.

We were wondering is there: 1. A possibility to add tags to portfolios? Or add categories to portfolios and show them in a list under a parent? We want to add tags with year, type of font, raw, clean, monospace etc etc. 2. Is there a css trick to glue the footer to the bottom. The ajax portfolio just works on homepage, you should set it as above I have told you.
The portfolio is enabled but the X does not appeared! I have to click “HOME” to close it, or in the arrow to go to the next work.

The code is ok, as above. The portfolio Ajax is appearing normally, at the “home” and and at the “portfolio”, with colums and little images.
What is not appearing is the option of closing the visualization of a single piece of the portfolio. ( a button like a X, on the right top) when I choose to visualize one of the works.

I am using the side bar using text widgets. I applied some simple HTML to bold certain words. It shows up right on my “Services” page but not on my “Kind Words” page. Also, I would like to change some of the bold type color in the side bars as well as in the content area to blue. Where do I apply this change?

As I told you, in the page content, you have added a wrong tag for the text “George and Jacqueline”. That caused your sidebar text are display as bold.
