Finally a template that renders as advertised! Great job. Keep them coming i will buy more!
Kharkovyy Thank you for the compliment. We like to make sure our templates are well tested before publishing them.
We are planning a number of exciting new templates for the future so watch this space.
I’m having an issue with this file. I’ve done a layout using the left column newsletter and it looks great in every email client I’ve tested except for Outlook 2007. The problem is that it doesn’t know how to handle the dividers and makes the horizontal ones too tall and the vertical ones too wide. Do you know what might be causing this and how I can fix it?
Greyton I have just check the litmus file and the problem you are describing doesn’t seem to be evident on the test file. Would it be possible for you to send me the code so I can take a look over it.
The code above is from one of the dividing lines for the “In this issue” section after it came through Outlook 2007. Every 1px color block in the design was rendered either too wide or too tall. My client is using http://memberclicks.com/ to send the email; but because of security issues, they won’t let me into that interface to do the editing. Their staff person copies and pastes the code, then I have to wait for them to send a preview, which isn’t helping me solve the problem.
first thanks for making a cool template.
I have a question. How do i go about editing the template? filling it with my info? I know its a silly question but im new to this and need some assistance
Can this be used in email or an independent mail client like Horde Mail? If so how?
Edot. The templates have been put together in basic HTML . You will need to have a text editor like Dreamweaver or text edit to manipulate the templates. I am working on a mailchimp version but this is currently not available.
Thanks…. can I use it in gmail?
If so how?
Once you have worked out your preferred layout you can upload it to any number of online application like campaign monitor or mailchimp. They are specifically design to send and monitor emails sent and received.
The templates have been designed to be viewed correctly in all browsers including gmail. I would not recommend sending it directly from Gmail as Gmail is not designed to send out email campaigns.
Marchunion, first things first, great design and content you provided all of us here. I just want to say thank you, but a few bucks of out my pocket should be nice compliment as well.
Now I’ve never done an email newsletter / campaign as this.
I edited the pressrelease PSD file to reflect my website, only changing the header and the background image. I left the slicing alone.
Once I saved it for the web, created a new html file, I tried to upload it in Apple Mail. It doesnt display. In dreamweaver, all the images line up and it looks beautiful.
What am I doing wrong? Is there I walkthrough or guide or video I can watch to learn how to do this properly? Thanks again.
Spitfire You will need to load the template into an online application like Mailchimp or Campaign monitor. Sending the template from a program like mac mail will not work as the structure requires the images are loaded onto a server. Both above mentioned programs store the images on their server.
Firstly I’d just like to say that I love the clean design of this template. Perhaps that is what made me think I wouldn’t have any trouble modifiying it myself.
This is the first time I’ve customised a newsletter template and I’m a bit confused. I’ve modified the Core business-NewsletterLeftcol.psd file in photoshop and changed the logo, background color and company name., and saved as HTML & Images. Is this correct?
I now have a html which has the newsletter sitting hard left of the browser instead of centre like the CB_Newsletter_yellow.html template file and I cannot see how to change the text or images.
How then do I go about creating a modified template with html and css to edit text and images in Dreamweaver.
I’ve read through the help file supplied with the download, but I’m not experienced enough with coding to know what I’m doing.
Could you give me a quick ‘dummies’ guide as to how I go about creating the html and css files necessary for changing the text and images each time I want to update the newsletter. Thank you.
Look great and want to buy but need to know if colors can be modified (I ask because it’s not clearly but I imagine so via css).
I saw that one of your replies mentioned that you’re working on a Mailchimp version so that bits and pieces can be modified easily.
Is the current version able to be modified (colours, etc) easily in Mailchimp now?
