Corporate Newsletter Template V1

Hi David,

I’m very interested in purchasing this template – it looks great!

However, I am concerned in users comments about it not working in Outlook. I wanted to ask you the status of this issue. Has it been fixed or do you know how long until it is good to go?

As an experienced front end web developer I was hoping to save myself some time by buying this template. Unfortunately after purchasing and testing the code straight after downloading I discovered that this template was far from Outlook compatible.

1. It is not compatible with Microsoft Outlook 07 without customizing code
2. Excluding Outlook, It is not 1:1 pixel perfect when comparing all e-mail clients/browsers side by side
3. There are so many little details that forwarding all of them to Andrei (the file coder) would be a waste of his and my time

Given my target audience, Outlook is absolutely essential and I can imagine many other buyers facing the same problem.

1. Use inline CSS only
2. Each image should be nested in its own < td > element (never float images next to a paragraph)
3. Give all images a width, height and alt text, so when the e-mail is opened without images the structure doesn’t collapse
4. Use margin instead of padding (there are some exceptions but in general this is the safest)
5. Don’t bother with background images
6. Run a lot of tests during development with as many different e-mail clients/browsers as possible
7. Convert text to images as a last resort. For example the newsletter number in the top right of this template, I had a lot of trouble trying to get it on 1 line with the rest of the header, so I used an image here in stead.

When I went to preview this the site tried to download 2 viruses! Where are you hosting the preview files?????

I have sent an email about the outlook issues that have already been mentioned in these forums. Please do not respond with “I will get a friend to look at it”. In my mind that is akin to “the dog ate my homework”.

It is also ridiculous since I know Envato have a range of great coders answering forum questions 24/7 on other products. In otherwords, if your friend cannot fix this in a few hours – please ask another coder to help you.

To reiterate, the images in the main column (in my case – the left column in the “right-column.html” file) do not wrap/display/hold there position properly when rendered in Outlook 2007.

If someone could fix this quickly I would really appreciate it.

can i import this template into campaign monitor or mail chimp or is there an online site that can customise the temple, to be honest i will changing pics and text and thats it.

Do you know how to separate content from the design, by using Smarty Template Engine Code? I want to buy lot of templates here, but I don’t know how to replace the content with Smarty Code.

I’m sure this is a stupid question, but when I open the template within Dreamweaver…the fonts and the spacing of the text looks completely different?
