Common WordPress Installation Issues

Missing style sheet error when installing the theme

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a “Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to set CHMOD properties?

Does “CHMOD” acronym sound scary to you? Do not worry about this, it is easy to do. Just follow these steps: 1) install CuteFTP or FileZilla; 2) connect your ftp using this application; 3) make a right click on the required folder, select the last item of the context menu: http://i39.tinypic.com/200ph83.png; 4) set the properties.

I had created my own menu, but it does not work.

You simply need to change the order of menu items: Home item should be the the first one in the menu list.

Is it possible to use my own Cufon font?

Yes, you are able to apply your own custom font. You will need to rename your font file the same as one of our default ones. For example, Kreon.font.js and upload it to: .../wp-content/themes/dt-crea/fonts/ But do not forget to make a back-up copy of the initial font file (in case you will need it in future). Now, select your font via Dashboard -> Crea Theme -> Appearance -> Font: Enable Cufon

My images are not being displayed!

Please, check whether you have set right CHMOD properties: “777” to /wp-content/themes/dt-crea/cache/ “777” to /wp-content/themes/dt-crea/cache/uploads/ “777” to /wp-content/uploads/ The following folders should have 755 CHMOD settings: /wp-content/, /wp-content/themes/, /wp-content/themes/dt-crea/. Some servers require 755 to be applied to /wp-content/themes/dt-crea/resize.php file. Therefore we suggest you to check this option either. If you do not know how to deal with CHMOD settings, please, follow “How to set CHMOD properties?” instructions.

My logo is not being displayed correctly.

In order to make your logo to be displayed correctly, you should follow next simple rules: 1)the image must have PNG format; 2)it must have transparent background; 3)your logo should be a 24-bit non-layerd image. Also, we advise you to check whether all required folders have right CHMOD settings (follow “How to set CHMOD properties?” instructions).

It appears “Est cho skazat?” instead of “Have something to say?” on the Contact page.

Please, make a back-up copy of the following files: .../wp-content/themes/dt-crea/languages/en_US.mo …/wp-content/themes/dt-crea/languages/en_US.po And remove them from the /languages/ folder.
