Disregard my last post. Somehow, without me even changing anything from the post I sent, it just started to work.
However, now I am having an issue of the Twitter widget not working. I think I have seen other people post this problem as well…but not sure if there has been a solution…
Regarding the 404 error: it can be solved just by re-saving your settings in Settings – Permalinks.
Is your Twitter account private?
Sorry for the last three multiple comments. I have read all 16 pages of comments on here and have seen countless references to how Twitter Widget isn’t working properly. I “think” I may have found out the issue…
My personal Twitter handle has always been set to private. When I added my username to your widget, it came back with “No posts were found” (or something like that). I entered a couple other usernames and the widget worked perfectly.
HOWEVER, I undid the “private” setting on my person Twitter handle and BAM, your widget worked right away.
In all of the previous comments I read about the Twitter issue I hadn’t seen anyone talk about the private/public issue…so hopefully that is something you can let you customers know about.
Thank you for your feedback Yep, if an account is private we simply can’t pull any tweet from it.
Quick question for you, and I’m hoping you can lend some advice since you must have had something in mind while creating this theme.
I am having trouble trying to determine what types of information to include in the homepage slider. Since you built this theme as a portfolio theme, what do you imagine being there?
Since recently added portfolio items dont automatically appear in the slider, and since there is already a “Latest works” section right under the slider that shows the lastest portfolio items…what would you suggest or invision showing in the slider? I really want to show something there because it is a great slider, however I don’t know if I want to show portfolio items because I will have to manually add a new slider each time I add a new portfolio item, plus there is already a “Latest Works” section to show my latest portfolio items.
Thanks for any help, visions, advice you can lend.
Great question. Keep in mind that the website you see in the Live Preview is more of a showcase of the theme’s features than the optimal configuration for a Portfolio, we leave that job to the users. Every website has different needs, and in some cases the Slider is not necessary at all.
In my opinion, using the Home Slider has a simple image-only showcase of your latest works is a balanced solution. Using too many slides with totally different content can be confusing and make your visitors uninterested. You don’t want your visitors to stop there, but just have a quick look.
Thanks for the help. I think I’ll take that advice and just add a few pictures of portfolio items as teasers and then some extras as well.
You did a really amazing job on this theme, it has so many options and it very eye pleasing to look at (and I have purchased A LOT of different themes). This one is hands down my favorite.
After playing with all the different options, there is one thing that I really wish I could do and would like to offer it as a “suggestion” in the next update. I think it would add just another option and flexibility to your already amazing theme.
It would be awesome to have the ability to add a video to the slider (which you can), but ALSO being able to add content next to it. I have an awesome video that I want to show on my slider, however, I want to be able to write information to the left of it like I can with pictures. If there is anyway to add that option on the backend to be able to add a video AND content. As of right now, if you add content to the left…you have to upload a picture and link it to the videos URL. This is really the ONLY thing I can find about this theme that I wish was different.
Let me know if you think that can be incorporated in the next update, and if so, I can’t wait to install it.
Thanks again so much,
Happy to hear that We will surely consider this option for the next update.
Don’t hesitate to ask if you have more questions.
I came across a possible bug that I was hoping you could look into.
I created a new sidebar, assigned it to my homepage and saved the page, went to my widget area and added widgets to my newly created sidebar….but when I view my homepage, nothing is showing up in the sidebar. It’s just blank.
Could you look into this when you have a chance and double check that the creating of new sidebars feature is working correctly?
Thanks for all your help,
That’s odd. Can you please try to re-create the Sidebar, add some Widgets in it, and then assign it to your Homepage?
I just got this theme and when trying to access the control panel of the theme I get the following error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_enqueue_media() in /home/XXXXXXX/public_html/xxxxxx.com/wp-content/themes/Creativelife/haku/panel/setup.php on line 27
would appreciate the support
This theme requires WordPress 3.5. Please, update to a recent version of WordPress.
thanks for the prompt reply. I upgraded to 3.5 and re-installed the theme, but the error persists
actually that was right. I had 3.3.1. thanks!
I have a problem:
I changed my twitter username and when I effected the change on my website, it says “No tweets found from …..
Nee to resolve this ASAP.
Which version of the theme are you currently using? Have you tried using a different username?
Using version 1.8
Could you please try to update to a recent version of the theme? You can obtain the latest version re-downloading the theme.
The version you are currently using is also incompatible with the recent WordPress versions.
CreativeLife user here. My slider images are turning out blurry on import. I double checked the photos and they’re very sharp – but when I import them, they lose definition. What could be causing this?
That’s unusual. The images are only scaled down and cropped (if necessary), by WordPress itself. Have you tried using a different format for your images?
They’re all JPEGs, which should be standard. What format should I try?
Also – what are the exact dimensions supposed to be (with and without text content)? I’m sorry if I missed that info somewhere.
The images are resized to 710×300 if you use content (in your Slide), and 950×300 if you don’t.
Great theme, once u get into its usability, fun ways to customize it and make it your own. Just get creative with its widgets and stuff. peep ours here www.greenstreetbeats.com
My client is now getting this error when attempting to access slider images:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_enqueue_media() in /homepages/28/d384632800/htdocs/inverness/p/wp-content/themes/Creativelife/haku/panel/setup.php on line 27
Please can you help ASAP?
They are currently on 3.3.1
You seem to be using a version of the theme not compatible with WordPress 3.5+. Please, re-download the theme to obtain the latest version.
I have setup this theme on my demo link.. but I am not able to set up banners… can you please help me…
I’m sorry, but I’m not sure I understand your question. Are you referring to the Home’s Slider? You can set your slides in Appearance – Creativelife – Homepage – Slides.
I tried doing it from same.. but banners are not appearing…
Can you please try to re-upload your images? If it doesn’t help, you can use the included plugin “Ajax Thumbnail Rebuild” to re-generate the WordPress Thumbnails.
this is a presale question.
is there an audio shortcode besides the audio post format ?
Appreciate the reply..
No, the audio player can be used only through the apposite format.
In your demo…how do you insert the small picture in the “About me” section?
We used the included [pic] Shortcode, setting the “align” option to “left”. For instance:
[pic url=http:// align=left]
Is there a way to use the text as the menu instead of the icons? I feel like the icons may be a little confusing.
It is possible, but it will require a customization of the theme’s files. Sorry, we do not provide support for customizations.
On the social networks bar at the top of the screen, is it possible to add a network that’s not in the list of available options? I’d like to have a soundcloud icon and link up there. Where would I edit the theme to make this happen? Thanks.
You can edit the file named “social-bar.php” located in the folder “includes/module” of the theme to do that.
Getting a 404 on all Portfolio items when I open them. Am I missing something? Up until now I’ve only used the Blog type posts.
This is a common issue, not directly related to the theme. You can quickly fix it re-saving your options in Settings – Permalinks.
Hi! First THANKS for this amazing theme!
Well, here’s my question: I’m wondering how to remove or hide author, date, tags, comments from posts and pages! Just to give a look like a normal website, not a blog. Thank you again and hugs from Buenos Aires!
Thank you for the appreciation
This will require a few changes to the theme’s files, but it’s quite simple and quick. You can open a ticket on our Support site and we’ll do our best to help.
I have a question about your threme – is it possible, to make site multilingual on this theme (maybe with some coding)?
If not, could I have two same sites, but in other launguages on one license?
The theme is completely translatable, so you will be able to use a WordPress Plugin to do so.
I’m afraid that the standard license for the theme covers a single website only. You can find more informations about the licenses here: http://themeforest.net/licenses.
Are any customizations done to the php files overwritten when there’s an update to the theme? If so, I’ll need to kee a list of what files have been edited and the edits.
Yes, when replacing the PHP files with a newer version you will lose the changes applied on them. In the theme’s folder you can find a file named “changelog.txt” that contains a list of every file affected for every update.
I’d like to hide the featured image on some parts of my website. Actually, I’d like to be able to choose to keep or hide it – but right now I’d need to hide it on ITEMS. How do I do that? I need them to appear on the homepage, but not when i open the ITEM page. Thanks in advance, and thank you for the wonderful theme
This is possible, but you’ll have to edit a file of the theme. The file responsible for the single view page of a Portfolio Item is named “content-portfolio.php”.
I’m sorry, but we don’t provide support for customizations.
Ok, I found it. Thank you. Do you mind if o post the line that i have deleted here, so others can do the same if they want?
Feel free to leave any instruction!
i cannot edit my comment anymore, but, by ITEM, i mean the portfolio items.
