Cubismo - Minimal Responsive Wordpress Theme

REVIEW OF THE THEME:

I feel at this point that I know the code behind this theme pretty well (given that I found, and fixed various stylistic bugs, and had to hack out some of the js). I hope that I can offer a competent review:

THE GOOD:

1. The theme is very pretty. I like it a lot, which is why I paid money for it.
2. If you just use the template and sub in your own content it generally works as expected.

THE BAD:

1. The theme is buggy, see e.g. my comment two up from this, where I describe how to fix one. I have fixed others. Including things from earlier in the comment thread.
2. The theme is badly documented. See various other comments in this thread.
3. The theme breaks the WP 3.5 Media Manager. I provide a hack above that will make things work (at least for the subset of pages I care about, YMMV)... but the problem is fundamentally that this theme messes around with jQuery and should not. Future releases of WP could mess it up again.
4. The theme is not very customizable from the admin interface and various undocumented things mean that the author’s own widgets will sit on your homepage unless you explicitly go in an figure out how to fix them.
5. The author is apparently MIA and hasn’t answered questions for weeks. Buyer beware!

IN SUMMARY: I have never before paid for a theme. I did so this time because I wanted my personal website to look professional in a short amount of time.

I’m deeply frustrated at the amount of time I had to put in ironing out problems, but at the same time, the things the theme gets right look better than I could have managed myself.

Flawed but pretty. 2/5.

Hi Pebas,

It’s me again, working on some final touches before launching client’s site. It seems that the contact form is not working. I set up the form, assigned the e-mail, form goes through but I’m not getting any emails.

I know it’s not a server problem because I installed the Contact Form 7 plugin and it works without a problem.

I am writing in regards to a comment sent to you by johanngonzalez 6 days ago. He’s helping me with my new site (I am his client), but we are stock with the Contact Form of the Cubismo Theme, since we haven’t been able to make it work.

I really have an urgency to go public with this site, but I can’t until the site is fully functional, and as you know, the Contact Form is a must.

Please answer Johann or myself on this regard. I would really appreciate it.

I just bought this template but when I try to install it I get this message “The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.” please help. Thank you LMB

I’m loving the theme so far. However, I have two questions. 1)How do I create the photo/info slider for each of the team members(http://demo.pebasdesign.com/cubismo/about/). 2) My social icons only show up as letters and not the logos(i.e. Facebook, Twitter, GooglePlus logo, etc), where is the setting to make these icons? i have same problem of teamophoto:

I get the following error in the javascript debug console in the extra.js file, in line 75:

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method ‘match’ of undefined

This occurs when I try to add media in Wordpress 3.5. Steps to reproduce: 1. In a post, press “Add Media” 2. Select an image 3. Press “Insert into page”

how can i fix?
