Discussion on Cultured - A Responsive Blog / Portfolio Theme

Hey there! Great theme! I am trying to use a different color scheme. I’ve figured out where some of the color values are, but am still missing quite a few. Site is: http://butterflywheel.com/wordpress/. You can see that the menu, blog items and bottom links are still showing the light pink from the magenta color scheme. Can you help point me in the right direction to change those values? I’m guessing there’s a css file, but can’t seem to locate it. Thank you so much!

Whoops, one additional item is how to link the blog posts to the blog page. If I go into reading and change the values, it removes the homepage formatting. I know this is a simple fix, I just can’t seem to find it. Thanks!

I work for a client who bought your theme and i have a problem with Twitter, Facebook and linkedin buttons. I entered each url into the social icons box (theme options/social icons) but, when I go to the home and press the buttons, they send me to the home again. The buttons direct to the URL of the home and i want to fix them.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi, sorry you’re having trouble. Is the URL somewhere live I can take a look at? When you entered the URLs did you use the full address including the http://?

Flito

Hi! Thanks for the answer. I tried booth, entering URL with http:// and without it and the buttons didn’t work. The web is www.hstammk.com.

Thanks a lot!

Flito,

Please email creds to your WP Admin so I can have a closer look. Thanks.

Hello! I find the file in the download folder cultured_wp.zip not. The installation always shows Error. What can I do?

Please read the instructions included with the ZIP . There is a folder inside the ZIP you downloaded that is the actual theme. That’s what you should be loading into your WP Admin. If you don’t see this, please try downloading from ThemeForest again, unzip the main file, and you should see the actual theme ZIP inside a sub-folder. Thanks.

Hi. I have two questions regarding this theme.

1. Is it possible to feed two post categories into two different blog pages? If so, how?

2. My client was poking around the site after we went live and did our tutorial. She peeked into the coding area under appearances and noticed that there were quite a few swear words in the code. It was offensive to her and of course, she wanted to know why I would write the code that way. I was quite surprised. Am I going to damage the code in any way if I remove those?

Thank you for the quick response. Yes, I’ll have to ask her where. I saw it as well, but can’t recall now. Probably best to take them out with a new release if possible. I’ll get that information for you.

Regarding the post categories, if you take a look at her site: http://butterflywheel.com/. You’ll see that she has a blog page set up. She would also like an ‘ask coach m’ page that behaves like a blog where she can post questions that people write in to her. I figured the easiest way to do this is to set up categories for ‘blog’ and ‘ask coach m’ and have them feeding into the two different pages. Just not sure how to accomplish them feeding into the pages.

That brings up another question – when she posts her website to FB, it links automatically to the blog page instead of the homepage. Why would that be and can that be changed?

Just found it. If you look in footer.php, 3/4 of the way down under ”!dynamic_sidebar(‘Footer Area 3’) ) ?>”. You’ll see it.

Probably best to create a Custom Template for what you want to do. If you take a look at the portfolio template you can use that as a base. I would create a new template, do a query for your posts filtered by category, then spit out the posts. Format as you see fit. To finish it up create a page in the WP admin and just select that Template for it. You can then link directly to that page. I hope that helps.

For me all work good ! 5*

Hi,

My company is using this beautiful theme for our blog. (blog.first5kids.org) But I realized the Twitter feed on the footer is no longer working. It worked last time I checked but it’s down today. I tried to use other twitter feed plugin but i do like your twitter feed better.

When you have a chance, could you please take a look?

Thanks a lot!

Hello, nice theme I’ve the same problem as listed above by Flito: Twitter, Facebook and linkedin buttons. I entered each url into the social icons box (theme options/social icons) but, when I go to the home and press the buttons, they send me to the home again. The buttons direct to the URL of the home and i want to fix them

If you email me directly through my ThemeForest profile with a URL to your live page, I’ll try to give you some advice. Thanks.
