Hi, great theme! I’m struggling to create my own icons. I gather I have to make a new font. What program will allow me to go from Illustrator graphics to be able to export a all those same file formats (.ttf .eot .svg .woff)?

I’m afraid that generating your own font files is not recommended. It’s best to use http://www.fontsquirrel.com/ or http://www.google.com/fonts/ to download fonts you need. They set standards for their files and thanks to this font sizes, line heights and alignment are consistent and match other files well. This is often not the case with hand-made files.
I bet there are tools to help you create all font extensions but I haven’t done this myself before yet: http://fontface.codeandmore.com/

before i buy some questions:
1. the triangle on top, which i can click and then something slides down. how does it work. how can i edit it? what can i load in this area? can i give the triangle a different shape and position to make it more visible?
2. are background photos possible?
3. is it possible to play videos in the tiles?
4. can i move the social button from the bottom to the top?

1) You can put a page there with any content (text, images, maybe forms). It’s enough to pick a page under [Daisho > General > Info Box]. You may be interested in visiting the trial website and creating test account to see back-end.
2) Yes. Globally or per-page/per-post.
3) Yes, HTML5 videos are supported but they are not recommended due to not very nice iOS and Android compatibility (continuous playing in not available in them) and generally large size of video clips. It’s much better to use animated GIF or SVG and you’ll achieve the same effect. Similar question is present here: http://docs.devatic.com/daisho/#portfolio-faq
4) Top (which is header) doesn’t have any widget area. A tutorial on how to add one: http://support.forcg.com/topic/possible-to-add-a-widgetized-sidebar-to-header (you can register with dummy item purchase code if you’d like to take a look but our trial website won’t let you edit the code to test it).
4a) It is recommended to use plugins to add icons to posts and pages. You can also add them to sidebars if footer isn’t satisfactory for that.

since installing the theme, i have not been able to “drag and drop” menus to re-order them and also cannot drag widgets across.
Can you help or suggest anything I can do?
Is it v1.9.3 + WordPress 3.5.1? Versions from December 2012 and earlier (before WP3.5 came out) will have this issue with the newest WordPress.
WordPress 3.5 updated all major libraries like jQuery at the end of 2012 and we followed this change and in 1.9.1 update we updated our scripts as well to remain compatible.

Only I have a little problem … When I want to share a particular image of the portfolio, either from the same web or by the URL in a social network, it only recognize the main images, not all. Can I do something thereon?

This is on a list of things that we will improve in 1.9.4 (coming after WP3.6 is released, after 20 May).
From version 1.0 to 1.9.1 it was working fine but then in 1.9.2 and 1.9.3 we gave up on having PHP load projects and that’s why sharing services can’t find images (because they are added later on and not on page load when you access a project directly). All posts and pages are shared normally but not portfolio projects since they are popup windows and not real pages.
This is going to be sorted out around 30 May 2013 in 1.9.4. If you need earlier assistance please create a support ticket and we’ll be happy to assist. could you direct me to where in the theme files I could add a loop section(s) / functions that will allow me to use content created through the infamous visual composer plugin?

We have 1.9.4, 1.9.5 and 2.0 Daisho updates scheduled (each every 30 days) and integrating a tool similar to visual composer is on our list of priorities.

Perhaps it was temporary. The forum should be available 24/7/365 with little downtime.
Technically it’s already prepared for that. However, there are no user-friendly tools to do that yet. You can use inline style to create something like that – background colors and images are allowed.This is very simple so we can provide you code to use on the forum. I hope that it works for you now

i looked at the admin panel and can not figure out how to enable the touch controls like swipe for devices.
Where would you like to enable them? For which component?
when you open a portfolio item, i’d like to use click drag to swipe to the next and previous items, instead of using the arrows. would be good to enable it for scrolling long pages if the user wants, instead of using the scroll bar.
I see what you mean. This would require an additional script that would allow you to add some more actions to project view.
Since portfolio projects can consist of Vimeo, YouTube and other media that prevent swipe from working I would consider if it’s going to work fine on all nowadays devices and systems like iOS and Android.
Generally the simplest things maintain the best compatibility with all browsers, systems and devices. That’s why we usually steer clear from complex solutions.
If you need further advice I suggest describing your idea to the developers and they will help you with that. They need to know what exactly should happen when and they can prepare a more detailed report of advantages, drawbacks and additional scripts required to make it happen.
thanks, i just bring it up because in the description of the theme it says that it supports all input options including touch. but i guess that is no accurate, as i could not find a setting to turn the touch compatibility on.
It supports touch devices very well and the page is optimized for vertical scrolling. Horizontal scrolling for touch devices can be enabled for:
Project view has arrows instead of swipe left/right as they seem to be more intuitive and better for user experience.
Anyway, that’s why the trial website is available

Hi! I use daisho 1.9.1 and I have one question…In a single-portfolio page.. when I have contents that fit in one page there is the possibility of scrolling down while there is no need for this..as a result the user sees as he scrolls down a blank page..How can I make the scroll to somehow “fit” to the content?

This wasn’t resolved even in current 1.9.3 and I think that we’ll leave it this way.

In fact this behavior is technically the correct one although visually it may leave some blank space. Attempts to change this have two main drawbacks:
position: fixed;then you can’t put a scrollbar over it (unless it’s a scrollbar attached to the body or html tags and not the project view).Hi really cool theme and freat work, one of the best i have purchased on themeforest to date.

The Tabs and Columns work perfect, but the Vimeo code displays as text in live view.

Yes, you can use Vimeo anywhere including: grid columns, tabs, toggles, accordion, portfolio, posts, pages, excerpts on post listing pages etc.
You can either use Vimeo’s shortcode: http://docs.devatic.com/daisho/#vimeoVideos which will produce a code that maintains 16:9 pixel aspect ratio or you can copy embed code directly from vimeo.com. Both should work.

This is indeed interesting behavior and we thought about something similar at first. But then we came to conclusion that a lot of people think of it as of a standard page and that the majority would be more comfortable with just standard images without additional scripts/actions attached to them.
This is possible with custom modification (short and easy one, something that wouldn’t take more than 30 – 60 minutes to be completed).
can you give idea where we need to do custom modification in your theme ?? i have seen portfolio section from dashboard but I didn’t get anchor tag option.
It’s best to either add additional scripts to project-script.php (in this case probably to bringPortfolio(id); function which initializes a new project) or to
