I purchased your template and I really like it so far. How can I know the font types that you’re using? I want to make sure I have the same font type for my portfolio so it’s more cohesive.

You can browser style.css to find out what font families we’re using. We’re mainly using Open Sans and Lato. There’s one more for small fonts.
One bug I found is that when loading in IE9 , for the first second or so the top black drop down “What is Daisho” is displayed while the rest of the page is blank, and then it suddenly hides. This doesn’t happen in Chrome or FF.
It’s just because it is really there at the beginning (opened) and then after document is ready jQuery hides this. It’s not a crucial thing but we can change this behavior if you open bug report on our support forum. Someone will review and add in v1.9. It happens in IE9 because it renders page differently it seems. Thanks for noticing!

i love your theme very much, and my designer has brought for me however i have some problem modify this theme
1. i couldnt change any thumbnail hover color in dummy contents already exist along with this theme, no any changes after i click updates. 2. when i create a new portfolio, i didnt see any thumbnail hover color shows when i add a new thumbnail hover color in custom field, same as after i have submit update.

You should be able to pick hover color under [Portfolio > Add New]. Just make sure to upload thumbnail hosted on your own server. There is image sampler available and color picker.

I really like your themes, especially Konzept and Daisho. The usability is awesome, a charming design and in particular, they work perfectly on mobile devices. This is rare on ThemeForest (I am checking themes since one or two months, everyday… ;)). The sticky navigation rocks and the implementation of the search function is really intelligent.
I would like to buy Daisho, but before I have still a questions.
I have no portfolio and would like to use the theme differently. Basically as a pure news or blog page. Is it possible to display post categories instead of portfolio categories? The post categories then link to all blog posts for the regarding category. Sidebars were introduced just a few versions ago and they are available only for pages so far. We’ve got this as suggestion on support forum but I’m not sure if we’ll implement that.
If you’ll think about it and take usability and blog’s role into consideration you will probably come to conclusion that sidebar isn’t necessary for blog. Big fonts and smaller header to make reading area larger are useful. Some place to go when user finishes reading blog post is also a good idea.
Can you explain me what are you planning to put in blog’s sidebar and why? I just need to better understand why some people need it. It’s easy to be implemented in code but our designer decided to skip this for now.
I understand your point in terms of usability. It may be that here and there it makes sense for a special kind of blogs (e.g. highly scientific essays or extremely personal texts) to forgo a sidebar, so that the reader can totally focus on reading. But in my opinion a sidebar usually provides only advantages for readers. To be honest 90% of the visitors of your blog just skimming your texts or even only reading the first lines and then skip the rest. Then they are checking for more information or regarding topics. And here is the sidebar. Normally you can add everyhing in that space: tags, categories, comments, links to your ressources, whitepapers, podcasts, social links, infographics and so much more. So I think the sidebar is a great reason to stay on your page and not leaving it after seconds.
Of course, my views have a strong marketing background. It is only natural that people which mainly focus on a great design, UX and aesthetics, will see my above mentioned benefits maybe differently. Of course, there are a lot of negative examples. Also for me many news sites are totally overweight. There are three or more sidebars, partly just filled with trash. These pages are more confusing than really informing the reader. But that’s not as intended by the inventor. That’s btw the reason why I don’t like the most news WP templates on TF. But one sidebar is quite useful and won’t overwhelm the reader.

I can code that in a few hours but I need some design from designer first to make sure that it’s going to be consistent with everything else. We would also need to adjust all font sizes and responsive behaviors, so it’s not straight forward change.
I can’t promise that feature, yet but I’m sure that the next version of Daisho will have a lot of improvements to sidebars, widgets and we’ll probably introduce footer with columns

I did buy and install de version 1.0.2 of Daisho, but i did notice the site can’t load in internet explorer, but the recent version can load. I want know, how can update from 1.0.2 to 1.8 version?

IE9 has known issues with style tags even if you put them in
<head>section like they recommend. Please try moving changes to style.css.Please note that in IE9 your “Custom CSS Code” will appear in source code, in correct place, with correct tags but for some reason (IE9 bug) it won’t get applied or some parts of it won’t get applied.

Thanks for helping me out with my previous issues. After I followed your tips, everything have worked perfectly.
But now, here I am again with a another question.
It’s about the booking calendar plug in developed by WordPress – http://wpbookingcalendar.com/. I am now using the free version, to see if it works before buying the upgrade. Unfortunately right now I am having some issues with to make it work.
After the installation all the settings shown up correctly. I have the booking button in my page’s toolbar but when I press it to insert it in my post/page it just don’t do anything at all. And I think the issue is with Daisho theme, because with the default “twenty eleven” theme it actually works.
I already tried to find out any possible js conflict using the software Console2 addon. but it seems that the software itself is not allowed to check the website because of the way js is set. Any other tip I can use?
I HAVE to make it work. I have no other options.

v1.8.1 of Daisho has excellent plugin compatibility. jQuery is run in noConflict mode and wp_enqueue_scripts() is used like it should be (with correct hooks). Also, we use wp_head(); and other functions that Twenty Eleven uses, too.
So… having said that I have no idea what else might be wrong but I bet it’s not JS conflict. Can I see some example where you tried to put it and it didn’t work?

Loving the theme, I was wondering how much you would charge for some changes to the file for me, I would like to convert the site into a one page portfolio. I like all the pages that were done but would prefer them to all sit on one page and have the menu scroll down to each section

Hello, I wanted to second what nierhoff has asked, and explain that the use of sidebars in blog posts—and category filter results—is important because a visitor might be reading a post and then want to find something similar. With the categories, sidebars, etc., on the post pages, they can easily navigate to another category or tag. As it is, once a visitor goes to a single post, they would have to make several clicks to find another category. This drives people away from the blog, in my opinion. I want my visitors to be able to get anywhere as simply as possible.
And I think the design can still be honored with a sidebar involved; it won’t detract as long as minimal is kept in mind when populating the sidebars.

Buttons color can be adjusted either in admin panel or in style.css file (depending on which buttons).

You just need to create a few portfolio categories under [Portfolio > Categories]. Then go to [Portfolio > Add New] and create a few projects with thumbnails (each has to be attached to some category or multiple categories).

Hello… I bought this theme and is working perfect, I just have one question… I’m trying to change the color of the grid filter… is like some kind of green by default and I want to change it to violet.. I have tried looking in the code, but no luck so far… (by the filter i mean the one in the grid portfolio that starts with ALL WORKS ) it change from plane white to this color I think #00A4A7 and I can’t find where to replace it with the color I want… can anyone please help me, i just need this little detail to set my website

Well, you just need some basic CSS knowledge to do changes like that. It’s 1-line change.
You tried this selector:
#options li a:hoverand state before mouse over is this:#options li a.We’ve got special section on our support forum where you can contact developer to help you with such changes. They help quickly, they do such changes the correct way and rates are affordable for such simple changes. There is no reason to ask each time and wait 8 hours for an answer if you can just list all the things to developer and have them done the same day. I hope I helped
I know this theme is using these web icons, but I did design my own icons I want to use, and I cannot figure out how to make them work, I just want this theme to match my personal branding better and I defiantly want to be able to use my custom icons, how can I best do this using your theme? There are many possibilities. You can use them as SVG or you can put them into font file (recommended) and then just replace our font with your one. Illustrator vectors can be embedded using object, embed and img tags.

Also, I would recommend to check “hire developer” support forum area and just get some developer to setup that for you. It’s going to be the fastest method and some developer will make sure that the code and solution for you are the best possible.
How do we set the thumbnail/s order, I’m trying to avoid any white box?
in the demo – you have the thumbnails perfect
Please set order by date and use more small thumbnails to cover white spaces. On demo we have something like:
1 (large)
2 (small)
3 (medium)
4 (small)
etc.
So, you can basically create all that manually and you can make it all perfect. The trick is to set them all small at the beginning and then make some medium/large/horizontal/vertical (they are displayed in the same order each time, so you’ve got full control over everything).

Loading time is 7 seconds in total (2 seconds for WP to execute). So, I think it’s okay. I’m preparing speed improvements that should appear in v1.9. It’s going to be 20-30% faster which is a lot.
Demo loads in 600-900ms right now, so some improvements are already there (1.5 seconds before in v1.8.1).
We’ll release v1.9 in a few weeks. I just want to make sure it introduces significant improvements
Wondering, before I buy, if I can embed other things in a portfolio other than a video or picture. For example, would it be possible to make a custom embed from a site like http://infogr.am/ , or, http://www.amcharts.com/ , or http://visual.ly/. And maybe even an interactive javascript chart.

There is such option in admin panel. You should be able to embed any custom code but I can’t guarantee that all of them will work. You can test that in Firebug
It works with iframes and embed HTML tags. You can also put DIVs with inline style.
hallo im testing your test website on ipad and im looking that opening a portfolio item it is not possible to come back to menu anymore. bug?
Before it surely worked. Recently I’ve made a couple of changes to that area but it seems to work all the time. You should be able to click “Back” button. I can click it on iPad3, iOS 5.1.

On iPhone there is no such button as “back”. You can click logo. But you’re right that right part of logo is not clickable. Thank you for noticing this. I just made some improvements to this on demo.

I don’t understand yet what exactly problem is but my Media’s Maximum upload file size is 10MB. And my WordPress is v3.4.2. I think is newer then v3.2 ! 
I’ve read the common installation issues, but that’s is the normal installation just like what I’ve seen in the video.

If your max upload file size limit is 10MB then it’s enough for installation of theme. Our demo server has this set to 64MB or 128MB.

I have one question about this theme..
I’d like to buy this theme but I can’t figure out functionality, when open http://themes.devatic.com/daisho and click on SJ OPTIONS it opens SHAPE , sometimes MIRAGE or something else so I’m confused how does this grid portfolio system works?
It works just like you would expect. It’s just demo that does not have enough projects, so we linked first 5 correctly and then they repeat. But in reality everything will be just like it should be
