It’s actually not meant to be used with other shortcodes because nested shortcodes don’t work like expected in WordPress (due to performance reasons).

It’s best to contact that developer to find out if it’s safe to update. But if it’s only translation work then I bet it’s safe.

Great In the current version we use just 2 columns with Google map shortcode, address and contact form. You can copy this configuration from the trial website.

You’re interested in framework/shortcodes/daisho-isotype/style.css and selectors such as: .element .thumbnail-hover, .element .symbol { font-family: Lato; } (there are more settings available there).

Lastly, if you can’t find selectors please list them all on the support forum and if those are short 5-10 minutes modifications then you can surely count on our help. If those are complex changes then you can also ask developers to do that for you.

Portfolio projects don’t have comments due to the way they are presented. Technically they are popup windows and comments would have to be loaded via AJAX if anyone wanted them there. There is simply no page refresh so WordPress can’t fetch comments and re-generate form with its security nonce fields. You can use comments for all pages and posts that include page refresh.

One or two people suggested comments for portfolio already but if I’m not mistaken both came to conclusion that they actually don’t want comments there. It’s on our list of suggestions but with low priority.

I made the changes to CSS file (I think I changed it correctly) and I am not getting the desired results.  Upon hovering on a portfolio item, the color block w/ text now changes to same color block no text..  How can I get:  color block w/ text change to thumbnail image upon hovering?

I tried the code I pasted before pasting it and it worked. Please paste it at the bottom of framework/shortcodes/daisho-isotype/style.css or under [Daisho > General > Custom CSS Code].

If it still doesn’t work then please let me know what is your website’s address and I’ll check what happens there. You can also create a support ticket if you’d like someone to login there and check those files.

Perhaps there are plugins out there to achieve this. If not it’s like 60 minutes of work. There are more things to consider when doing this:

• what should happen as you scale the browser window down? Elements shouldn’t overlap. Perhaps scrollbar should appear.
• how about its maximum width? And perhaps also horizontal scrollbar?
• how about mobile devices and tablets support?
• if it’s vertical then you can put less elements there – basically only text, small images or at most some form, sharing icons or small video.

I can guide you but to have it done the best possible way perhaps a help of some developer would be useful.

It just requires in-depth testing on all devices and in major browsers. The most basic changes should be done to the CSS and to this file: http://themes.devatic.com/daisho/wp-content/themes/daisho/framework/shortcodes/module-daisho-info-box/daisho-info-box.js (change margin-top to margin-right).

Yes, example: grid_3, grid_3, grid_6 last. This would create 25% column, 25% column and 50% column.

Thanks for the reply. No problem about the inconvenience- it makes sense. Can you tell me what you mean by ”’Custom Fields’ panel”? Is that a file I need to edit? I don’t see a custom fields panel in the Wordpress admin area…

This panel exists by default in any WordPress theme but it’s not very user-friendly so it’s often hidden. Developers usually create their own panels instead of that one.

You can find it under [Pages > Add New] as well as [Posts > Add New] and during any other post type creation. It’s below the main “Editor”. There are a few meta boxes there and one is called “Custom Fields”. It lists all custom fields for that post. If it’s hidden, you can enable it in the top right corner in “Screen Options”.

It looks like you can’t access this link from within WordPress admin panel as well. Please try “View Post” in [Posts > Website update]. Please re-save [Settings > Permalink] because it looks like they do not take effect and it runs 404.php which redirects to the homepage.

Daisho is really well done if it comes to translations. You can translate everything in any way. Demo is a working proof that even potentially problematic parts (like dynamic date format or multiple plural forms that are not present in English but are present in Polish) are translatable.

At this moment only button can be a link.

Ideally, I’d like to enable people to insert any custom HTML as a slide (would be awesome!) and with such functionality you would be able to do this but… only like 1 out of 20 people are familiar with HTML so majority of users would need custom drag&drop editor to accompany such feature. It’s a bit of work but certainly it would be very useful and powerful.

OK. thanks. Last question (I hope). Can I somewhere change the order of the elements in the slideshow? I found an field for order where I can input numbers like 1,2,3. But this does not change anything.

You can change that under [Daisho > Slideshow]. There is unfortunately no elegant way to have 1 action (scroll) do 2 things at the same time so either one or another will be enabled (slide left/right or top/bottom). If you’d like scroll top/bottom functionality then left/right should be disabled.

That should eventually help Normally, it should work out of the box. We develop on WAMP server (Windows 7) and it’s fine there with default configuration.

Great The forum is open all the time if you wish to ask any questions. Daisho has generally the quickest support because its code is clean and it’s easy to resolve issues or do any custom modifications to it.

Yup, all new pages will not have comment form enabled by default. You can switch comments on/off under [Pages > Add New > Allow comments]. If this box is not visible, please check “Screen Options” in the top right corner. You’ll be able to enable additional boxes there. That should help

To remove “About” and “Contact” please go to [Pages > About] and in “Custom Fields” panel please make sure that:

• Title – doesn’t exist
• Description – doesn’t exist
• flow_post_title – exists
• flow_post_description – exists

First two are for backwards compatibility and you can remove them if they are still there.

You’ll find “Custom Fields” panel just below main editor. If it’s not visible then you can enable it at the top in the right corner (“Screen Options”).

Also how do I remove the map on the contact page?
