Beautiful theme! Great work
I was wondering what font is used for the Dandelion logo?
The one used in the Slider not on the top of the page, the serif one
Thanks in advance,
Thanks, I’m glad you like the theme
The font used in the logo is Georgia.
How about the SEO of this theme? I am looking for a theme thats really seo friendly.
While designing the theme we have tried to follow the main SEO standards, however you should always keep in mind that what matters most for SEO is your text content – your site must have very rich and often updated content in order to get good search results.
I have only one pre-sale question which is important to my colleagues. The theme supports multi level sub-menus. Is there an option to disable the top level menu item? We would like to use only the drop-down items but not the root one.
Thank you in advance,
Yes, you can have the root menu item disabled – you can see an example on the demo – for example, on the “Features” drop-down, the Features root item doesn’t have a link set, also in its dropdown the “Layouts” root item also doesn’t have a link set.
Thought I’d let folks know about the under-the-hood stuff you can’t know until you buy the theme. I think these remarks apply to all Pexeto’s themes, as generate similar HTML and I would guess use the same underpinnings.
First, the theme is not child-theme friendly; in fact, I’d call the coding child-theme hostile. If you want to customize any functionality or templates, you have to edit the main theme, which of course means you can’t get updates without losing your work.
A Pexeto Panel theme options page is used for most functionality and does not load anything dynamically. E.g.:
- you must define every slider, rather than using a post’s or page’s gallery or attachment images, or specifying a category to pull from;
- even a static header image must be specified like other sliders;
- you are limited to three boxes on the home page, and they contain static content;
- must upload all images, can’t select from those already in WP
No support for post formats.
Every CSS value specified in pixels and without grid or other class-name-based system, so it would be rather difficult to make it responsive.
The lightbox is broken in Chrome and Safari (don’t know about IE), with the overlay background failing to cover the page.
I just want to add a few comments:
- child theme support – the theme supports child themes for the main style.css file and root template files. Also, we are planning to improve this in an update soon, by allowing the PHP functions to be overwritten as well. If the ones I mentioned above are not working for you, it is possible that you may have not set something correctly, so if you need help for this you can open a ticket on our support site.
- Pexeto Panel sliders – the majority of the users are happy with the way the slider images are added, as it is very quick to add and manage. Using page attachments as slider images is not always good, as in lots of cases you will want to add more images in the content of the page, which will be automatically added to the slider after that. By the way, adding slider images is presented in the Pexeto Panel Presentation
- Services boxes – these are designed to be static boxes with static content. If you need to add an existing image from the Media library rather than uploading a new one, you can just copy and paste its image URL from the library
- CSS – in the description of the theme you can see Layout : “Fixed”, which means that it uses static sizes
- That’s something that we found a few days ago (it didn’t exist before) and we will fix it very soon in an update as well. The fix is about adding one line of CSS , so if you don’t want to wait for the update, you can open a ticket on our support site where we will provide the CSS snippet
Where can I add my own SEO content? Do I have to do this in the Appearance – Editor or have you provided an area to add <HEAD/> info???

P.S. If you want to insert additional HTML meta tags in the head of the theme, you can use the editor and edit the header.php file.
How can I style the content inside Content slider? I want to put a bulleted list.
Play video not working in portfolio showcase
I want to show my video portfolio and i have a problem whit the Dandelion theme.
In the portfolio item:
When i clicked on the image open: play video.
this function is not working for me …
Nothing happens !
I have already put a Custom Link/Video URL… but the portfolio image is not linking the video…
Is like your portfolio video item in your demo page.. I have notify the same problem in your Demo page for the portfolio video items…
Can you help us tu solve this problem?
P.S. The Play video option is for the Gallery page template, not for the Showcase. In the Showcase you can embed the video directly into the content of the item, like you do in standard posts/pages.
I’d like to change the footer to three columns, and the front page to four boxes. Can you help me out? Or point me to a previous response that may help?
Any plans to make this theme responsive? Please say yes.
I can’t really say for sure – Dandelion contains lots of sophisticated functionality, such as sliders, galleries and portfolios, which were not initially designed for a responsive layout and may require to be recoded from scratch in order to make them responsive. In fact this is something that we are considering at this point, so if we can find a way to do this without complete recoding and major changes in the default functionality and code,
we will release an update for this.
I entered the shortcode [intro]Intro content goes here[/intro] to homepage and did not see three boxes with text underneath as document as the guide suggested. http://test.tastyjuicerecipes.com and home page is showing below the slider, how do I delete the page title?
P.S. You have to select the “Home page template” for the page – you can read more about it in the “Template pages” section of the documentation.
Thought I’d let some of the customers who are thinking of purchasing this theme about some of it’s shortcomings before you spend your money.
The portfolio system is not user friendly, in fact it’s more user hostile. After loading several portfolio items meticulously, the link to the item appears broken (with an error page) and Pexeto support offers no solution to fix it, only blames others (WP, server, database). I have other themes with portfolio items that work just fine on the same server. The only way I can view portfolio items with the Pexeto theme is by creating it as a blog post, not through the portfolio.

If I had the chance, I would’ve passed this theme up for a better built theme, but unfortunately I already spent the money and time creating a website with hundreds of images that now cannot be viewed individually. Just a warning to others…
I have never refused to help you, even after all your offensive words, which I don’t think we deserve and I am still willing to help, as we never leave issues unresolved.
I just would like to make the problem you metioned about the portfolio items clear – once agian, as I said in our conversation on our support site, you are the only one to experience this problem and this is why I said that the problem must be related with server/installation settings or plugins installed.
This is not a known issue with the theme and as you can see the portfolio items are working perfectly on the demo (and to the thousands of other users of the theme) and this is why I asked for login details – to have a look at your installation, which you refused to provide.
I also suggested a few things to try (such as checking the permalink settings, disabling plugins, updating the theme to the latest version, etc.) and I got only offensive words in reply.
Anyway, as I already said, we never leave issues unresolved and I am still willing to help you with this on our support site.
Regarding the other things you have mentioned – I can see that you have copied them from swinggraphics’s comment above, so if you are interested in this, you can read my comments about them in there.
Like I said, If I had the chance, I would have passed this theme up for a better built theme, but unfortunately I already spent the money and time creating a website with hundreds of images that now cannot be viewed individually. Just a warning to others…
Also, if you take a look at your response to the earlier comments about the static boxes, and the slider – you’re basically stating that this theme is what it is… and to me and apparently to others, these shortcomings are a concern after purchasing the theme.
The other problem I have been having is sorting the portfolio categories in the order I prefer them to be – a solution that actually worked was never given to me for that either. Notice the five thumbs down on the question of “is this helpful” at the end of the suggested fix.
Letting me know that everything is working fine in your online screen demo that you use for advertising is not very comforting when my business products are “no longer found” (the 404 page’s words – not mine).
Lastly, I apologize if my words were “offensive” but I am only speaking honestly about my experience with Pexeto themes, I never spoke of anything I didn’t experience first hand and stating that you never leave issues unresolved has been false so far in my experience, because the issues I just listed are still unresolved at this moment.
I have already begun working on a new site for my business, so it will just be a further waste of time to keep this string going and reading the same tired lines of “check the permalink settings, disable plugins, update the theme to the latest version, etc.” when I had already tried those options the first time you suggested it about 12 days ago, turns out, they still don’t help my problem.
I really don’t know what to say anymore – I never closed your ticket or told you that I cannot help you anymore, I just waited for a reply to tell me if the last things I suggested are helpful, but I only got your offensive reply.
Anyway, once again, I can assure you that your problem is not caused by the theme, but if you are so sure that it is the theme – just contact the Envato support and ask them for a refund. Or if you decide to go back to the support site, I am still willing to provide more advices.
First, Let me say I really love your theme! Is it possible that you will be making a responsive version of this? Or would it be easy for me to make this responsive on my own, I just wanted to ask before I purchased (I know there are plugins and code that can help me with this/, but wasn’t sure how difficult it would be with your theme) PLease let me know! Thankyou!
Thank you for the interest – I’m glad you like the theme
As I already answered this question in a comment above:
I can’t really say for sure – Dandelion contains lots of sophisticated functionality, such as sliders, galleries and portfolios, which were not initially designed for a responsive layout and may require to be recoded from scratch in order to make them responsive. In fact this is something that we are considering at this point, so if we can find a way to do this without complete recoding and major changes in the default functionality and code, we will release an update for this.
We are happy to announce that we have just released a new update of Dandelion with some new options and improvements You can check the list with all the main changes in the item info section and for the theme users – you can read about how to install the update in the “Updates” section of the documentation.
Can you get a secure page with this theme?
Are you asking about a password protected page? If yes, you can create a password protected page with the default WordPress password protection functionality and the default page template – you can see an example of a password protected page with a quick gallery here (use “pexeto” as password).
I think it’s annoying that the columns at the bottom of the home page are required. If you delete the text in the options page fields, the default text is added back automatically. I’m using spaces, but that leaves extra, empty HTML elements.
If you don’t need the columns (services boxes), just don’t use the Home page template – you can use a default page template with a full-width layout set to it and you will get the same page as the home page but without the services boxes
The ”#site-intro” is strangely limited. First, it’s styled with an id rather than a class, which isn’t too big a problem, but still. Also, can’t insert line breaks or do some other basic styling.
I don’t know if this is a question or just a comment – in case you want to discuss this further, you can register on our support site here:
where all the Pexeto items support is handled and you can open a ticket where we can discuss this.
A couple more oddities: on the theme options page, the admin menu is all italics; the <title> tag uses the strange and uneditable format “[page name] @ [site name]”.
