Great looking template. Login and Join not programmed?

sheko_elanteko

Thanks. The Login and Join can easily be done. The idea was that template will probably get to be a wordpress template, so the login and join will be there if it got to the wordpress stage.

I like the design too! Very well done.

Just wondering why the Template%20-%20Dark%20Wings shows up in the url on my subpages?

Thanks. I just switched my site over to this design, because I wanted a flexible design. I really haven’t got to creative with it yet, just spent all day today getting it going. http://grayzweb.info/ (just a personal site)

First of all, thank you for purchasing the template.
As for the url problem, it’s definitely a directory problem, because that doesn’t even happen in the demo as you can see.
You need to make sure to set up the site directory names properly and make sure to change the name of the main directory as well.

Because to me, I think you just copied the folder and pasted in your server with the same name without changing it.

You are correct, I just put the folder in my directory. Thanks. I fixed it by updating my directory. Still learning.

Thanks again for the great template !!

You’re welcome.

Hi, I purchased your theme, and it works fine on my ‘Kindle Fire’. However, on my Samsung Galaxy SII ; it does not display correctly. It’s as if the page is to wide for the screen (moves from left to right and vice-versa)! It also has a blueish hue on the left and right depending on how you swipe your finger.

Have you any suggestions on how I might resolve this issue? The Galaxy SII is one popular phone and if it’s not displaying correctly there; I would guess the issue is on other devices as well.

My client choose this theme for it’s responsive feature… I wish I would have tested it before I purchase…

I should mention; this issue is right-out-of-the-box with no modifications what-so-ever and even presents itself on your own preview url.

Best Regards, ~ragtech

sheko_elanteko

I tested it numerous times in every screen size in every stage of the coding process.
I also tested it on iPad and iPhone both directly and on simulators programs.
And if it works fine on the iPhone it should work fine on the samsung SII as well. Because this design is based on the ‘skeleton’ boilerplate .
It’s very weird the issue that you mentioned with the blue hue!!! It looks like a hardware problem.
I don’t have galaxy, but as I said, on the iPhone it works just fine !!

I’ve narrowed the problem to the:

div class="expand header"

class. Remove it form the theme’s code and it displays correctly.

Regards, ~ragtech

sheko_elanteko

But this takes care of the wide header bg.
the header should break if you did remove it !!

Edit: Did you try to re-download the theme?

.expand.header .logo a:link, .expand.header .logo a:visited { width: 320px;

Replace it with

.expand.header .logo a:link, .expand.header .logo a:visited { width: 300px;

And all is well

Your ‘responsive.css’ mobile portrait container is set to to 300px;

/* #Mobile (Portrait) =========================== */ /* Note: Design for a width of 320px */ @media only screen and (max-width: 767px) { .container { width: 300px; }

shouldn’t these match?

Regards ~ragtech

sheko_elanteko

But that’s only if you are gonna use the same logo, your’re not gonna do that, are you? :)
Anyway, I’m gonna upload another version fixing this bug.
In meanwhile don’t remove the ‘expand’ class, just adjust the logo size to fit you own logo and you will be fine :)

I guess you missed the first part when I said that this happens with your own preview and also with your download without making any changes to your code what so ever.

Granted; iPhone’s are great way to test your code, but since it is far from the only platform out there; may I suggest testing it on some android devices as well… Forget simulators; you’ll never really see what’s happening like the real thing… just call some friends or go to a forum and ask if they wouldn’t mind testing it on their IOS Devices…. And Please; don’t be so quick to say it’s a hardware issue. We are all here to help and we’re all not complete amateurs. I’m a 52 year old web developer/designer so I have a few years to offer…

So, in closing it really has nothing to do with or without using the same logo you have. It is the ‘expand class’ you added to the ‘skeleton’ boilerplate code. I checked their code before applying the fix I offered up for others who may experience the same issue.

So, just change the code that one line of code from {width:320px;} to {width:300px;} and all will be fine… even if your logo is a bit larger it will still work.

Best Regards, ~ragtech

Note: in your pages the ‘placeholder’ values for the contact form are not being cleared when using Google’s Chrome browser… this use to happen in Firefox as well, but it looks as though they’ve corrected the issue in Firefox, but within Chrome it is still an issue.

Add this JS to each page where the contact form exist and it will correct the issue:

$(function(){
    if ($.browser.webkit) {
        $('input, textarea').on('focus',function(){
    if ( $(this).attr('placeholder') ) $(this).data('placeholder',
$(this).attr('placeholder')).removeAttr('placeholder');
        }).on('blur', function(){
    if ( $(this).data('placeholder') ) $(this).attr('placeholder',
$(this).data('placeholder')).removeData('placeholder');
        });
    }
});

sheko_elanteko

Thanks, ragtech.
I did added this in the site, but I found out that it conflict with other jQuery code whit the Ajax contact form, so I decided to drop it, since the placeholder disappear in ‘Chrome’ when you start typing. So I didn’t think it’s an issue.

ragtech

Sure what ever you want it’s your theme and it’s fine with me. I have the latest version of Chrome installed and your ‘placeholders’ in the contact form on the index page and the contact page do NOT disappear when they come into focus.

It is a known issue. Read if for your self:

Click Here

they do disappear when you you start typing, but that is not how it is supposed to work. As soon as you click in the input box; your default values are supposed to disappear… they do not.

What was the conflict other jQuery code with the Ajax contact form… I’m curious as it all seems to work fine for me?

sheko_elanteko

I know it doesn’t disappear when you click in ‘Chrome’, I’m aware of that.
But (in my opinion) it’s better this way, because it has that ‘twitter’ input effect that I like.
So, as I said for me it was not an issue.
But, thanks for highlighting this in case anyone doesn’t prefer it this way.

ragtech

Understood, although I think twitter actually fades or blurs on focus, but whatever suits-your-fancy… I personally strive to have everything (or at least as much as possible) work the same across all browsers...

I guess I’m just old-school and you kind of stick to the way you were taught by others.

Hi! is this html5? One more thing, I need to put 5 little gallery sliders (like “latest works” at the home page) will I mss the jquery or It’ll work?

thanks!

sheko_elanteko

Yes, this is html5.
And yes you can absolutely put as many image sliders as you want, but you gonna have to give each one a unique ‘id’ and apply the jquery to each one of them.

Cheers.

Hi,

Very good job! I’d like to know if it’s possible to use the same php file for ” subscribe to our newsletter ” and ” Drop us a message ”. It seems nothing is done for both of these forms.

Regards PK

sheko_elanteko

The “Drop Us A Message” form, you can use the same ‘PHP’ file that handle the contact form in the ‘contact’ page, it’ll work just fine.

But the “RSS” form doesn’t work, just google it and you’ll find plenty of examples of how to make it work.

Sorry to be here again so quickly :)

I’ve seen ” functions_main.js ” allowing to show or hide social buttons…

$(document).ready(function(){ // pretty photo plug-in for workspace images $("#workSpaceImgs a[rel^='prettyPhoto']").prettyPhoto({ theme: 'light_square', opacity: 0.8, allow_resize: true, social_tools: false, }); });

If I change social_tools: false by social_tools: true Lightbox doesn’t work anymore. Any idea to resolve that?

Thanks PK

sheko_elanteko

No, you just need to delete it all together or comment it, don’t change it go ‘true’ :)
