First I’d like to say this was a great theme. Nice job and looking forward to purchasing more of your work.

My only issue at this time is that my Featured Posts are does not show up at all on my blog. All other widgets and post areas shoe up fine. I can’t seem to find out what is the problem. You can see my site at http://www.wallofstyles.com.

Thanks

awesem

Thanks for the purchase and your comments, hopefully we’ll be releasing more themes in the not too distant future :)

As for the featured posts, ensure that you are tagging the posts “featured” without the quotes. This is also case-sensitive so that might be causing an issue?

nomadicone

Thank you once again. That resolved the issue. I wasn’t tagging the post with the word “featured”.

Another suggestion or question. For the468×60 banner currently it only allows of a person to enter in a direct banner image link and it’s destination url. If a person wanted to use their google adsense or other admanaging script’s banner code to this area it currently will not allow. Any suggestions on how to do this or if you may release an update allowing for this feature?

Best regards,

awesem

I’m glad that cleared that up!

The only way currently to replace this area with Adsense or any other ad code would be to modify the code directly.

In header.php (approx line 206) you should see:

            <!-- BEGIN #banner-header -->
            <div id="banner-header">
                <a href="&lt;?php echo ($tz_banner_dest_url); ?&gt;"><img src="&lt;?php echo ($tz_banner_img_url); ?&gt;" height="60" alt="banner" width="468" /></a>
            <!-- END #banner-header -->
            </div>

You should replace that with:

            <!-- BEGIN #banner-header -->
            <div id="banner-header">
                [insert your code here]
            <!-- END #banner-header -->
            </div>

where [insert your code here] is your adsense code.

Hope that helps :)

I am so pleased with this theme. Happy to finally find a theme that suits my needs so perfectly.

Easy to use and customise.

Only slight issue is that I’ve found is that the primary menu drop down list fonts look better in Firefox than they do in Chrome and Safari (perhaps a shadow issue, not sure). But that’s only minor.

I particularly love the ad widgets. Ads often overcrowd a site and make it look tacky, but this theme places them so neatly within the layout for an overall sleek and sophisticated look.

Many thanks.

awesem

Wow, thanks for your comments! I’m glad it fits your needs so well! Perhaps you could give the theme a little rating?

If you wanted to remove the text shadow from the Primary Menu then you could open up custom.css in the themes /css/ folder and add:

#primary-nav ul a:hover,
#primary-nav ul li.sfHover a { text-shadow: none!important; }

In fact, you could take that one step further by simply removing the text shadow for Safari and Chrome users only with:

body.chrome #primary-nav ul a:hover,
body.safari #primary-nav ul a:hover,
body.chrome #primary-nav ul li.sfHover a,
body.safari #primary-nav ul li.sfHover a { text-shadow: none!important; }

Thanks so much – did the first suggestion there and now it looks perfect! I’m fairly new to all of this, so your help is much appreciated.

Already given this fab theme 5 stars. All the best of luck – I’m sure it’ll sell like hot cakes!

Can’t wait to see what else you come up with.

Oops! Oh well.

I’ll repeat some of it should it be useful to others: I removed the text shadow from the Primary Menu using the first suggestion and it worked perfectly.

Looks fantastic.

My many thanks again and again!

Hi, First of All , congratulations for making the first REAL newspaper like theme for WP in Theme Forest. I have been waiting ages for something like this. .so after you start have the great sale number you eventually will, expect to see much more themes like this. .. kudos for marking a future trend! :)

second, so far i love it .. the only thing i will like is to be able to choose which post shows in the FEATURED post at top (inside the dark grey box) now i automatically puts the LAST post published.. which is nice.. but sometimes i will like to leave a more relevant new in there for some more time and keep publishing to other categorys more news without replacing it ..

please advice.. and thank you so much for this addition !

Jon

awesem

Jon, thanks for your comments and of course your purchase. I would have loved to start a new trend, let’s see what happens ;)

In regard to replacing the latest single post with one of your choice, that’s a fairly involved process and you will need to jump into the code to make the change.

In /includes/latest-post.php – line 1 – you will see:

                &lt;?php /* show the latest post in the feature box */
                $tz_latest_post = new WP_Query(); $tz_latest_post?&gt;query('posts_per_page=1&caller_get_posts=1'); ?&gt;
                &lt;?php while ($tz_latest_post?&gt;have_posts()) : $tz_latest_post->the_post(); ?&gt;

You should replace the entire block with:

                &lt;?php /* show a single post tagged "main" */
                $tz_latest_post = new WP_Query(); $tz_latest_post?&gt;query('posts_per_page=1&tag=main'); ?&gt;
                &lt;?php while ($tz_latest_post?&gt;have_posts()) : $tz_latest_post->the_post(); ?&gt;

Now the latest post you tag “main” without the quotes will show in the box.

In /includes/recent-posts.php – line 8 – you will see:

                        &lt;?php /* show recent post list */
                        $tz_recent_posts = new WP_Query(); $tz_recent_posts?&gt;query('offset=1&caller_get_posts=1&posts_per_page=' . $tz_recent_number . ''); ?&gt;
                        &lt;?php while ($tz_recent_posts?&gt;have_posts()) : $tz_recent_posts->the_post(); ?&gt;

You will need to replace this with:

                        <?php /* show recent post list */
                        $tz_recent_posts = new WP_Query(); $tz_recent_posts?>query('caller_get_posts=1&posts_per_page=' . $tz_recent_number . ''); ?>
                        <?php while ($tz_recent_posts?>have_posts()) : $tz_recent_posts->the_post(); ?>

This will rectify the offset in the recent posts block under the main post. By default, this list shows the lasted posts offset by 1.

Hope all that helps :)

Hi, sorry to bother you again! any ideas in how to make a button show a “current” state ? in menu !

awesem

I’m not sure I understand the question, you have any other info?

Default-user

Hi.. thanks for the amazing help.. when i say “current” i mean the “active state” for the main menu navigation buttos.. that is, if you are in home, the home button will have a different CSS decoration showing you are “actually” in the home seccion, the same for the rest of the sections! thanks SOOOOOO much for the help!

Installed this yesterday and working on it over next day or so.

So far 1000/10. Simply wow!

Setting the standard for sure.

The sales will speak for themselves!!

Can you let us know when the update is done on the sidebar widgets to allow for manipulation multi-page.

Only bought another theme on here last week and ditched it in favour of this – no regrets.

Can’t wait to get stuck into this.

Wanna kiss you!! ;o)

awesem

Thanks, it’s great to hear such good feedback :)

Just a quick message to let you know that the update is now in the queue. I have added the ability for post pages to have their own widget areas – a main, a narrow left and a narrow right.

This pushes the total number of widget areas up-to 10 – hopefully that will be enough for most :)

Hopefully approved in the next few days.

awesem

Update is live, you can download the new files :)

Wow, this is beyond hot. Couldn’t have come at a better time too!

Edit: I do want to add that the first time I passed over this theme, I ignored it because of the preview bug (thinking it must of been a horrible design). So hopefully they will re-run your theme as “recent” once they get the bug sorted out.

awesem

Thanks for the comments, and purchase :)

I’ve heard that feedback a lot from TF users so hopefully they will get the bug fixed very soon – quite frustrating to say the least.

Also a suggestion – I’d like to see an option to either disable the inner right sidebar on the post page (feeds and social networks), or place them somewhere else (below the article? above/below the image?).

That way there would be a larger width for the article itself.

awesem

Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll add it onto my running list of feedback and perhaps it will get included in a future update :)

Hi,

I just bought this and it’s great, but I seem to be having an issue with the drop down menus. When I hover it drops down without the sliding effect and I can’t see the link on the drop down without hovering over it, see here: http://retreatslisted.co.uk/

Could you let me know if I need to do anything? Many thanks.

Also, I just added the ‘custom tabbed widget’ to the right and it’s not working correctly, to me this seems like a javascript issue? Can you please advise? Many thanks.

awesem

This definitely sounds like a JS conflict problem. You should deactivate all your plugins and see if the theme files work correctly.

If they do, which they should, re-activate your plugins one-by-one to see which is creating the conflict which will give you an idea of where to start.

Default-user

I de-activated them and that worked, thanks alot.

Hi,

Many thanks for helping me with my earlier problem, just 1 other thing. I’ve added some posts and tagged them ‘featured” (without quotes and all lower case) but they’re not displaying, see: http://designershq.net/

Just wondered if you knew what was going on?

Thanks, Paul

awesem

Hmmm, that’s a strange one. Ensure that you set the number of featured posts in the options and re-save.

I may have to take a look at your site’s backend to get a better idea if that doesn’t work.

Default-user

I tried that and it didn’t work. Do you have an email address where I can send you log in details?

Thanks, Paul

Hi,

The theme is awesome. Only I can’t find how to show up the pictures in the post category on the homepage. What must I add in the META field ?

Nel

Thanks for the comments and purchase :)

I think you are referring to “News in Pictures” section. If so, tag the posts you wish to show with “pictures” without the quotes.

Hi,

OMG what an awesome theme, I am impressed, nice to see people using the grid system, there are so many people out there designing web templates and web sites without using the Grid System. There are a few questions I have which I hope you can help me with…? :bigevilgrin:

1. The PSD file is fully usable, therefore I can make changes to my desire.

2. Where can I get the missing fonts from. I use PS CS5 Ext

3. I know this is probably a rather inane question but, I have to keep the ThemeZilla copyright and cannot replace this with my domain name copyright…?

4. This is a fully customizable WP3 .0 theme, therefore, I can make changes to the theme before I launch my website there are some modifications I would require to make some changes to the theme and post section.

Again I must say a rather impressive theme which must have taken some man hours to complete. Awesome work and good attention to detail throughout. A marvel theme which I hope will continue to sell well. Just what I was looking for my website. I tried IP.Content but it’s like having a futuristic TV without a manual. WP3 .0 is better and the themes are just mind blowing. Great work, I am impressed.

Regards, Paul MJ

awesem

Thanks for your comments :)

1. Absolutely true.

2. The fonts used in the logo are PT Sans and Neo Sans. The main site font is Arial.

3. Nope, you are free to change any part of the theme as you wish.

4. Yes this is compatible with WP3 .0. Feel free to make any customisations you wish.

Thanks for the purchase and hope it works out well for you :)

I am thinking of buying this Template Alot …. It’s Looks Professional And Such … 1. Is There Anyway A Person Can Change The Background Of The Layout (For An Advertisement Take Over) ? 2. Shortcodes For Buttons ?

awesem

1. To change the background you will need to have knowledge of HTML /CSS. There is no inbuilt function to control backgrounds.

2. There are no shortcodes for buttons within this theme.

How to add more than two custom menus?

Thanks :)

Adding another custom menu will take some PHP /HTML/CSS knowledge. Adding another menu is out of the scope of support I’m afraid, perhaps you could find a developer within the forums?

Hi,

first of all to thanks for the cool Theme. Only one question like I can change the type-size in the single articles?

Greez from Germany Dr.Disco

awesem

Hi, thanks for the comments :)

You wish to change the size of text on the post page ONLY ?

If so, you should open up your custom.css file in the /css/ folder and add:

body.single .entry-content { font-size: 14px; }

where 14px is the size of the font you wish to use :)

DrDisco
DrDisco Purchased

really has clapped, thank you for the quick answer :) Is there also the possibility to the background to give another colour? However, the background content should remain white

awesem

No worries, to start changing the background colour but leaving the content background colour white, you should be altering 2 divs.

container controls the entire background while #content controls the background of the content.

So, for example, to change the entire background to black while having white content you might:

#container { background: #000; }
#content { background: #fff; }

Hi,

before I purchase this theme, I would like to know if it is possible for me to rename headings like “Recent Posts” , “Featured Postes” , “News in pictures” , “Comments” etc into something else, as the content of my site will be in a different language.

Is this possible from the Admin Options for this theme?

awesem

Hi,

Some of the headings are directly editable from the theme options e.g. “Featured Posts”, “Recent Posts” and so on.

The remainder of all content throughout the theme is translatable via a .po file – you will need software, Poedit for example (free), in order to translate the file.

In basic steps, you open the .po files provided with the theme, translate each entry into your chosen language, and upload your new compiled file.

Hope that helps :)

Thanks a lot awesem! Your theme looks very interesting, just need to figure out if it is perfect for my usage first.

It would also be nice to see a screenshot of all the menues in the Theme Otions, if possible.

And good luck with your sales, I am sure “Deadline” will be very popular here on Themeforest!!
