Hi, I’m tagging my posts with “featured” (without quotes) and it’s not working. Any ideas?
http://bybert.com/bhamfam
Hi,
Make sure that the featured tag “slug” is labelled “featured”.
If you navigate to “Post Tags” in your admin panel and edit the “featured” tag you will see that yours is “featured-2”. Change this to “featured” and the issue should be solved.
Oh cool thanks! It looks like I created the category “Featured” first, before I created the tag “featured.” I love this theme, it needs 5 stars!!
Hello, Can you make some edit to me to make the theme work with arcade games online ?
Hey Awesem,
I just wanted to reiterate how pleasing it is to work with this theme. Thank you so much for making a theme that is both aesthetically pleasing and easy to work with. I hope others will continue to pick up on it!
I was wondering this time about the feature image block color. Current it’s black/grey and I’d like to change that. Can you point me where in the css it’s located?
Thanks for the comments!
I am assuming you are refering to the coloured block that highlights the latest post. If so, the ID in question is #latest-post – located in styles.css
When do you think you will be releasing an update?
We will be releasing an update as required. Currently there is nothing pressing that would warrant an immediate update.
awesem,
is there any way we can have double row, instead of just one on the primary category menu? i need more categories than i can fit in one row, so i’m wondering if there’s a way to do double row…
please tell me how to do it if possible, thanks!
MV
Right now that would not be possible without a lot of customisation/testing. One option may be to reduce the horizontal padding on the menu items to make them more narrow.
Styles.css, line 207:
#primary-nav ul a { padding: 0 12px; color: #333; height: 40px; line-height: 40px; }If you adjust the “12px” to a smaller number you will be able to fit in more links into the menu.
Awesome – looking forward to the next theme release.
Thanks, hopefully we will have 2 new themes released within the month
Everything works perfect. Great job!

Brilliant!
Hey Awesem,
Just wondering how I can alter the size/color of the “Recent Posts” and “Featured Posts” headings. I see in the css the sections for both but I can’t seem to edit the size/color of those headings specifically. Could you point me in the right direction please?
I actually just found it in a previous post. Thanks! Another question though – when I click on the featured post and it brings me to another page, the post appears in a column about the width of half a page. Where can I edit this so that the post takes up the width of the page?
For this to happen you will need to remove the social sharing and RSS feed HTML .
In single.php, line 65, you will see a block of code beginning with:
<!-- BEGIN #single-column-right-->This continues to ~line 131 and ends with:
<!-- END #single-column-right-->You will need to remove these tags and all the content in between. Do not forget the closing div tag.
Also in styles.css, line 437, you will see:
#single-column-left { float: left; width: 460px; background: url(images/bg-widget-title.gif) left top repeat-x; }You will need to alter the width “460px” to fit your desired width.
Thanks for your help Awesem. I must commend your attentiveness to this forum and the help you’ve offered me as well as the others here. You’re theme gets better and better each day as I find out more about it!
As a follow up, I’ve noticed when you click on a sub-category and it brings you to a new page, the sidebar from the homepage stays. Is there a way to have it so that when you click a sub-category that it will bring you to an entirely new page without the sidebar? Perhaps a bit more complicated than normal support but if there’s a semi-simple solution I’d love to try it out.
So essentially you wish to remove the sidebar for the category pages?
If you you will need to open archive.php and remove
<?php get_sidebar(); ?>You will find that you have to widen the main content to fit.
Yes that was exactly what I wanted to do. Now, to widen the main content? And, is there a way to show more sentences of the posts that are also listed on that page? For example, I click a sub-category and it brings me to a page. The latest post is opened followed by other posts, which only show a thumbnail and a few sentences. Ideally I’d like the other posts to show about a paragraph worth of writing instead. Possible?
You can increase the number of words in the excerpt. Archives.php, line 101:
<?php content(28); ?>Where 28 is the number of words you wish to include.
As for widening on the content, you will need to widen the #primary div but for archive pages only. To do this you will need to give it an additional CSS class and override the default width. This is a little bit out of the scope of support however.
Perhaps a simpler solution would be to center the main content. Does this also require a class override?
Sure, either method would require overriding the default styling.
This looks great! Really tempted to purchase! I’d also like to voice my support for this suggestion:
“I’d like to see an option to either disable the inner right sidebar on the post page (feeds and social networks), or place them somewhere else (below the article? above/below the image?). That way there would be a larger width for the article itself.”
I saw your advice on how to do this manually, but I think it may increase the appeal of the theme if this could be done via the interface. Especially moving the social sidear someplace else (I.e. Bottom of the page) to automatically increase the width. Any chance this my happen?
Also, Im assuming that “popular posts” is based on page views, correct?
Thanks a lot!
Thanks for the feedback! As you’re not the first to request this feature I may put this into a future release – thanks again.
Popular posts are ordered by comment count. Should you need a popular posts generator that works on views or ratings I would suggest the use of a more complex plugin.
Thanks!
Is there any timeframe you think may be reasonable? Just asking because I’d like to wait for that feature before relaunching our site with your theme.
If you happen to have a suggestion for a plugin that may work feel free to point me in the right direction.
Thanks!!!
If it were to be implemented then perhaps in a few weeks – very busy this end with clients unfortunately.
Hi Orman! I wanted to say thank you for this awesome theme. I purchased and plan to use it on my blog site within this coming week but first I need your help with these things;
1) I currently already have all my images in each blog post set at 530pixels wide, and with the theme they appear larger than the post area. How can I enlarge everything around, so I can keep each picture at 530px wide, keep the 140px narrow side bar and the 300px wide side bar. I tried enlarging the content size and the post size and then the narrow side bar ended up floating to the bottom. Please help!
2) Is there a way to make more than one Huge Featured post per category. You know the part that appears in the Big Black Box? Is there a way to have more than 1 post appear, like a scrolling content of sorts?
3) Is there a way to change the color for each category? Like I wanted to have each category be it’s own color, and then when you click on it and it loads all the posts of that category they also reflect the color..
4) How do I get post thumbnails to show up? I think I might have missed the how to on that one. How to make them show up on the main page and in the category pages.
Any help and tips you can give me would be awesome, especially for question 1 since I have over 300 posts already at that size with multiple pictures per post.
Thanks again for making such an AWESOME theme! Good luck with everything else!

Hi,
Thanks for the purchase. I’m afraid most of your questions are in regard to substantial customisations which is out of the scope of support. I can however give you an idea of where to start which may be helpful if you plan to make these changes or hire a developer.
1) Your options here are to crop your images or make the entire site wider. If you wish to keep the inner column AND the main sidebar a wider total site is the only option. You will need to alter the CSS for many areas but the main ones will be #content and #single-column-left
2) This is possible but it is a dev job, you will need a developer to help out with this one.
3) Again, a dev job.
4) You must assign each post a “featured” image as per the standard WordPress functionality. Please see the FAQ section above for more.
Hope that helps
Thanks Orman! I tried making the #content and #single-column-left bigger along with others that relate to those two, but the Share 140px wide area still floats to the bottom.
is there a way to get it to not float away?
Another thing, for some reason Breadcrumbs aren’t showing up. You know how on the demo it says Home>>News>>Steve Jobs Quits Apple this formatting isn’t showing up, What line of code/area do I look at to change this, to make it show up on home page, category pages and post pages? Let me know please.
And thanks for all the other advice!
The column simply needs a wide enough space to be able to fit. I would imagine that the resizing was not large enough.
The breadcrumbs are a supported plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/breadcrumbs/. You simply need to install and activate it.
I should say..I tried adding the thumbnails via the Set Featured Thumnail/Image to my already existing posts. I uploaded the image (via add image from url). The image inserts into the post. But then nothing happens on the home/category pages. There is still no thumbnail shown. Any tips?
I would say to make sure that the “featured” tag slug is actually “featured” and not “featured-2” for example. You can check this by editing post tags in the WP admin area.
thank awesem,
that actually worked fine
let me ask you, were can i remove that subscribe to rss and by mail links on the right upper corner, in the secondary menu bar? wanted to make more room for the menu.
THANKS !! you’re the best
Header.php, line 152:
<!-- BEGIN #feeds --> <div id="feeds"> <a href="<?php if ($tz_feedburner) { /* if FeedBurner URL is set in options */ echo ($tz_feedburner); } else { bloginfo('rss2_url'); } ?>"><?php _e('Subscribe by RSS', 'framework') ?></a> <?php if ($tz_feedburner_email) { /* if FeedBurner Email URL is set in theme options */ ?> <a href="<?php echo ($tz_feedburner_email); ?>"><?php _e('Subscribe by Email', 'framework') ?></a> <?php } ?> <!-- END #feeds --> </div>Remove that
Launched this weekend and everything looks great, very nice theme!
I have one question right now:
I use the News in pictures-section, and when I hold the cursor over the big image, the “popup” shows the name of the post, but when I hold the cursor over one of the smaller images the “popup” shows the name of the image.
Since the image name is sometimes a little confusing, is it possible to have the smaller images show the post title as well when holding the cursor over them?
Thanx
At the moment I do not think so, the image is output by standard WP functionality and so the details are not editable without editing the core WordPress files
Ok, any suggestion on what file to edit?
Actually I haven’t looked into this before, would start with Google.
It actually shows the alt tag of the image. I would be tempted to change the alt tags of the images rather than alter core WP files.
@mirandavidak
Try removing lines 158-164 in header.php, that should do it.
(save a backup just in case i´m wrong… :O)
I would like to display Google AdSense in the widget positions, specifically 300×250. Do anyone know how this can be accomplished?
You can use a text widget for this. Just insert your adsense code.
Awesome theme,
Just a suggestion for a future update:
1.The Twitter & Facebook and other share buttons use a pop up type div to share links instead of going to another site altogether.
2. The space under the share buttons could be an extra widget area for ads or more things in the admin panel. (if it’s not already)
Thanks for the suggestions – added to the list.

Hey, this looks great! I’m glad it’s worked out for you
Nice work on the theme, it’s going to be a great template for my organization.
Quick question regarding the color scheme – Is there a way to quickly change the color of the font (e.g., “Recent Posts” heading, “Featured Posts” Heading, “Home” Menu Link) and links (e.g., “Search”)?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi,
You can choose a colour scheme from the theme options which will change these for you. Should you wish to customise a colour scheme then you should find the relevant css file in the /css/ folder and change the appropriate values.
