The paypal button on my account is over stretched. Please advise on how I can fix this. I’ve tried both ways using the plug in and the directly from the pay pal site. Also will you please tell me how I can ad an image to my leaderboard? http://www.sesbm.com/
Thank you!
Hi sesbm,
thanks for your two queries. I’ve answered both your questions just now and please have a look a bit further down.
Please let us know if you experience any further problems.
Thanks
Olaf
Hello once I place the image url where you advised me to it still will not show.
Thanks
Great that you got it to work.
Cheers
Olaf
I have it thanks a million. You are really great with assisting.
You’re welcome and that’s great that you managed to get it to work.
CAN SOMEONE ANY ONE PLEASE JUST TELL ME WHERE MY CUSTOM CSS FILE IS . I REALLY HAVE TO HAVE MY WEBSITE TOGETHER BY TOMORROW AT MY UNVEILING . THANK YOU
Good morning, the custom.css file is located here:
http://www.awesem.com/deadline-responsive/wp-content/themes/deadline-responsive/_assets/css/custom.cssKind regards
Olaf
I am not understanding you at all. I have looked for custom css in my theme options then editor and it is not there. Where should I add the new height for my pay pal button?
Thanks
You can’t update the custom.css file via the WordPress editor and you would have to add to it via FTP and it’s in the _assets/css folder within your theme.
Alternatively, you can just add the CSS rule to your style.css file but please bear in mind that it would get overwritten if you choose to update the theme in future and you would have to make sure you copy back the change.
Kind regards
Olaf
Thanks but it did not work. Anymore options?
Hi sesbm,
it looks like you didn’t add the CSS class to the form which together with the CSS rule should fix the height of the button.
Could you raise a ticket in our support forum and we will try and help you with your query over there so that we can address the issue in a single thread:
http://support.awesem.com/Alternatively, we can implement the change for you via http://www.wpcustomize.it/
Kind regards
Olaf
Hey Olaf, All the sudden the text in the dropdowns from my main nav have gone missing/dark? They only appear on hover. I have not been messing with CSS . Any ideas!? Much appreciated. (http://histpres.com). Thanks, Meg
Hiya,
I’ve had a look at your site and there appears to be a JS error > global.js – maybe it is related to this.
Could you try fixing this and check if this resolves the problem?
Thanks
Olaf
I deactivated BuddyPress and the problem was fixed. This will have to do for now until I can have my webdesigner take a look. Thanks so much!
I am very interested in purchasing your theme. However, I am curious about a couple of things:
1. Does this theme support Facebook comments or rather the ability to comment via your Facebook account?
It doesn’t seem so, but I wanted to ask to make sure. If not, is there any plans to in the future? Facebook comments is a huge plus IMHO .
2. Does it play well with forum plugins such as BB Press?
Thanks in advance!
-Brad
Hi Brad,
thanks for your interest in our Deadline theme.
In regards to Facebook comments, you could consider using a dedicated Facebook comments plugins. There are a couple of plugins available and you could check if they meet your requirements:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=Facebook+Comments+for+WordPressIn regards to BB Press, we’ve not tried this yet and I assume that the CSS will have to be adjusted slightly. I will try this out on one of our test sites and I will let you know how this turns out.
Cheers
Olaf
Hi Brad,
I’ve installed the BBPress plugin on one of our test sites and the default CSS styling doesn’t look too bad as you can see here:
http://awe.sm/l1zS6Please let me know if you have any further queries regarding our Deadline theme.
Thanks
Olaf
Awesome, that looks perfect! That answers my only question or concern other than Facebook comments. Hopefully you guys implement that at some point down the road. Plugins are nice, but I’d much prefer it built into the actual theme.
I’ll be purchasing within the next few days
Congrats on such a nice, clean theme!
Hi JediSeer,
thanks for your feedback
I’ve added the Facebook comments functionality you suggested to our wishlist and we will see if we can add this to our framework further down the road.
Have a good weekend,
Thanks
Olaf
Excellent, I’m so glad to hear that!
I’m sure there are some great plugins that do this, however, I’d rather rely on as few plugins as possible. The problem with having multiple plugins, in my experience, is that it’s often hard to tell when one is going to cause problems with your website in terms of functionality, security, or performance.
I’ve run into numerous problems in the past.
What’s worse is that for every great plugin author out there, there are 6 or 7 hacks that don’t appreciate how site loading times can drastically effect your site’s success.
Finally, you never know when an author will suddenly decide that he no longer wants to support his plugin, thus leaving you with headaches and frustration once you realize that converting to another similar plugin will be a major project.
So, thank you so much for adding this to the wishlist
Great theme. One thing… If you resize the browser on a desktop pc, a top menu with black background appears for mobile devices. This menu does not work while using Google Chrome on my desktop pc.
Hi Ricksportel,
thanks for your query. I think you just need to refresh the page as some of the Javascript / jQuery gets loaded based on your screen resolution.
Please let me know if this resolves the problem.
Thanks
Olaf
Hello! My contact page (using the provided template) is showing the following error upon page load: “Input error: k: Format of site key was invalid”
What am I doing wrong? Help!
Many Thanks, Jen
Hi Jen,
thanks for raising your problem. It does sound like a like Javascript error. Can you post or email your URL and we will have a look into this.
Thanks
Olaf
Olaf,
Great! the URL is http://livinglb.com/contact.
I really appreciate you looking into this.
Thanks, Jen
Hi Jen,
the error message comes from the Google reCaptcha functionality. It sounds like you pasted an incorrect key as discussed here:
https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topic/recaptcha/QLVq9-llnbI%5B1-25%5DIf you don’t use the captcha then you can turn this off under:
Appearance > Theme Options > Contact Form > Enable captcha
Please let me know if you are still experiencing problems with this.
Thanks
Olaf
Hello! I try to add “Slider latest” widget to “Homepage – Full width” site area. But it does not appears. Why it may happens?
When I set “Slider latest” widget to display on sidebar area – that’s ok. But if I set to display on the “Homepage – Full width” – widget does not displays.
Hi Alur,
thank you for your query. It sounds like you have not assigned the “homepage” template to your homepage and that’s why the widgetised areas are not showing up.
If you are still experiencing problems after that, could you send us your URL and we will have a look to see what might be causing the problem.
Thanks
Olaf
Thank you, Olaf, for your answer!
Yes, you are rigth! I have not homepage. But may I display slider on the top of my blog loop page?
Hi Alur,
to add the slider above your post listing you would have to create a widget area in index.php which is explained here: http://awe.sm/k2LJa
If you are having problems implementing this change then we could do the customization for you via www.wpcustomize.it
Please let me know how you get on with this.
Kind regards
Olaf
Thank you again Olaf!
That’s done. Nice method by your explanation link. That’s work!
Hi, Can I use this theme on more than one website? Do you know if it’s compatible with WPML ? Thanks.
Hi Doe7,
thank you for your query and interest in our Deadline theme. Our Deadline theme is fully compatible with WPML and it has been tested by the WPML team as you can see here:
http://awe.sm/c2wlMIn regards to the license, ThemeForest allows use for a single application website with the standard license and unlimited usage with the extended license:
http://themeforest.net/licenses/regular_extendedPlease let me know how you get on with this and if you have any further questions.
Thanks
Olaf
Hello, we are considering this theme for use as a responsive template in a MultiSite environment. Does the responsive theme work in a multisite installation? Thank you. David
Hi David,
thank you for your query and interest in our Deadline theme. The theme works in a multi-site setup as you can see on our demo site which has a WP multi-site install:
http://www.awesem.com/deadline-responsive/What are your requirements for your homepage? The theme wouldn’t automatically pull information from your different installs and this would require further customization….but only if that’s what you need
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks
Olaf
Hi Olaf,
Very good. For the homepage we like the top article/photo slider and the ability to select to feature two other categories, such as you display Latest Posts and Featured Posts. We would like to select the categories for that and determine the number of posts under each selection.
But, below that we would simply like to display all additional posts in chronological order like a blog and not in separate categories, such as “News in Pictures,” and “Finance,” etc.
Is that possible to control from the backend?
And, we would like to place one ad in each article post.
Hi David,
the homepage template of our Deadline theme is fully widgetised and you can drag and drop and configure the elements to meet most of your requirements above.
In regards to having the blog style homepage layout as well, this requires a couple of small changes. You might actually be better of using the blog style homepage in the first place and then adding the widgetised area at the top of it. “Alur” asked a similar question today and he followed the following instructions to add a widget area to his index.php file: to add the slider above your post listing you would have to create a widget area in index.php which is explained here: http://awe.sm/k2LJa
All of the above assumes that you are not displaying posts and pages from other blogs in your multi-site setup. If you want to display posts cross-sites then this requires further customization.
Adding ads to each post should be fairly straightforward. You can have them in the widgetised sidebar of course or add them to the content by e.g. adding a filter to functions.php or directly hard-coding them to the underlying template. Alternatively, you can have a look for an ad manager plugin.
Please let me know how you get on with all this.
Thanks
Olaf
Olaf,
Thank you for the response. At this time, I do not think we need to have posts from other blogs in our multi-site set up.
What do you think would be the best way to determine if the configurations in the backend will work for our situation? We will start out with two site and hopefully grow to 100+_
Thank you.
David
Hi David,
that’s great that your site root’s homepage is fairly simple and doesn’t require information about the other blog on your multi-site. Our Deadline theme should hopefully serve you well for this.
If you would like to find our more information about the admin area then please feel free to refer to our on-line documentation:
http://www.awesemthemes.com/theme-documentation/deadline-responsivePlease let me know if you have any further queries.
Thanks
Olaf
Thanks for your reply. The reason I asked about using the theme for more than one site is because I have a test site (a clone of the main site), which is on a subdomain where I test changes before applying them on my live site. I have a lot of visitors and I want to keep downtimes to as low as possible. So would this be allowed under the standard license? I run a blog not a business.
Hi Doe7,
thanks for clarifying your question. I don’t think ThemeForest would have any problems if you use the theme on a staging site. There is a thread on http://themeforest.net/forums/thread/regular-license-single-use/48239 about this issue and it suggests that you also make it private. You can use a htpasswd on your sub-domain or use a maintenance mode plugin and this would then get around it. This also gets around any duplicate content issues as Google wouldn’t be able to crawl the content of the test site.
Please let me know how you get on with this.
Thanks
Olaf
Can I use embed video in the homepage slider?
Hi Kandika,
thanks for your query. Unfortunately, the homepage slider doesn’t support videos (yet) and I’ve added your feature suggestion to our wishlist.
Please let me know if you have any further queries about our Deadline theme.
Thanks
Olaf
Can you tell me if this Theme supports Multilingual Plugin WPML ? Thanks in advance
Hi Cabeludo,
thanks for your interest in our Deadline theme. It does indeed support the WPML plugin and it has been tested by WPML and ourselves for compliance:
Please let me know if you have any further queries.
Thanks
Olaf
Hello… I need some help… how to chage the navigation menu in Post category from “Older entries” to page number
Hi Nont,
thanks for your query. It depends which version of Deadline you are using.
Deadline Responsive (v2+) > the pagination should appear automatically
Deadline Non-Responsive (pre-v2) > to enable the pagination you need to install the PageNavi plugin which you can download here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-pagenavi/
Please let us know how you get on with this.
Thanks
Olaf
Can i disable the sharing functions on the left in the single posts?
Decaobr,
thanks for your query and interest in our Deadline theme. In the standard version (pre-v2) there is no option to disable it via the admin area but we have instructions on how to remove the extra column.
In the responsive version of Deadline, we’ve removed the social sharing column as you can see here: http://www.awesem.com/deadline-responsive/2012/05/28/apple-becomes-worlds-most-valuable-company/
There are a number of social sharing plugins available and our take on it was that it’s more efficient to use a plugin as we always had to add new and remove old sharing options. Most social plugins integrate nicely into our theme.
If you need any customization to these then we can carry these out for you via http://www.wpcustomize.it
Kind regards
Olaf
