Hi Display:Inline,

I have used other dropdown menu control in this template...
https://github.com/harvesthq/chosen

And i also include the “validate[required]” in class, but it didn’t works,

<select id="ddl_Standard" class="ddl-new-style validate[required]" >
<option></option>
</select>
when i remove the”ddl-new-style” from the class then the validation wil works…

Is there any way to include your validation with this style of dropdownmenu..?

Thanks in Advance. :)

displayinline

Hi,

I had the same issue when creating my custom select plugin. The form validation plugin requires the select to be visible, which does not seem to be the case with Chosen. Also, some styling plugin remove all classes on the native select, thus preventing the validation from working.

Some other Chosen users have reported this issue before, and provide various solutions for fixing this. You may try some of them, it may help ;)

zybosoft

In that forum they said use

 " $.validator.setDefaults({ ignore: ":hidden:not(select)" })"

to solve this issue. But in your validation js, where can i try this piece of code.??

Thanks..

zybosoft

Its Solved….. i just added a piece of code in the document load here is the below code….

jQuery("#form-student-profile").validationEngine({
                prettySelect: true,
                useSuffix: "_chzn"
                //promptPosition : "bottomLeft"
            });

Thanks…. :)

Hello!

I need your help again! :crying:

I need to put a time-slider, something like this:

http://marcneuwirth.com/blog/2010/02/21/using-a-jquery-ui-slider-to-select-a-time-range/

I was working with Jquery UI, and it worked, but, with your plugin doesnt.

Can you help me?

Thanks!

displayinline

Hello!

Actually, the logic is the same, you just need to change the way you listen to the slider’s change event.

For instance, you may do something like this:

// Create slider
$('#some-div').slider({
    inputs: ['#input1', '#input2']
});

// Watch for changes
$('#input1, #input2').change()
{
    var val0 = $("#input1").slider("values", 0),
        val1 = $("#input2").slider("values", 1),
        minutes0 = parseInt(val0 % 60, 10),
        hours0 = parseInt(val0 / 60 % 24, 10),
        minutes1 = parseInt(val1 % 60, 10),
        hours1 = parseInt(val1 / 60 % 24, 10);
    startTime = getTime(hours0, minutes0);
    endTime = getTime(hours1, minutes1);
    $("#time").text(startTime + ' - ' + endTime);
}

Just keep the other functions from the example untouched.

Tell me if you need more details! ;)

Thanks! but, how i can get the values of the slider?

because this doesnt work, right?

var val0 = $(”.slider”).slider(“values”, 0),

displayinline

Whoops, sorry! Indeed, you need to use this instead:

    var val0 = $("#input1").val(),
        val1 = $("#input2").val(),

;)

Thanks for the response! The code works “partially”, when i enter the page, the inputs have the time, but the slider shows the numbers, not the time, and when i move the slider, the inputs shows the numbers in the slider, not the time, i put 2 photos in my G+account to show you:

https://plus.google.com/photos/110996860490283958398/albums/5868322468321125313/5868322471989103202

Thanks!

displayinline

Actually, I think you should let the inputs hidden, and display the formatted time only in the tooltips. This way, you’ll end with a numeric value when the form is submitted, which is much easier to validate and format server-side.

Here the code:

$('.horario').slider({
    min: 0,
    max: 1439,
    values: [540, 1020],
    inputs: ['#time1', '#time2'],
    tooltipOnHover: false,
    tooltipFormat: function(value)
    {
        var minutes = parseInt(value % 60, 10),
            hours = parseInt(value / 60 % 24, 10);

        return getTime(hours, minutes);
    }
});

You can then get rid of the change() listener ;)

Hope this helps!

Hi ,

I am trying to implement the AMD approach to load only the necessary libraries on pages and also using the build feature from Require.js. It is very promising and helps to ease maintenance of files..

I am not sure if some one had attempted this on this template. This discussion does not have a basic search function, so could not search on this list.

When i try to implement using the below require.config

require.config({
  urlArgs: "bust=" + (new Date()).getTime(), // for prodn use bust=v2
  paths: {
    'jquery': '../tmpl/js/libs/jquery-1.8.2.min',
    'underscore': 'lib/underscore',
    'backbone': 'lib/backbone',
    'developr-setup': '../tmpl/js/setup',
    'developr-input': '../tmpl/js/developr.input',
    'developr-message': '../tmpl/js/developr.message',
    'developr-modal': '../tmpl/js/developr.modal',
    'developr-navigable': '../tmpl/js/developr.navigable',
    'developr-notify': '../tmpl/js/developr.notify',
    'developr-scroll': '../tmpl/js/developr.scroll',
    'developr-progress-slider': '../tmpl/js/developr.progress-slider',
    'developr-tooltip': '../tmpl/js/developr.tooltip',
    'developr-confirm': '../tmpl/js/developr.confirm',
    'developr-agenda': '../tmpl/js/developr.agenda',
    'developr-tabs': '../tmpl/js/developr.tabs',
    'tinycon': '../tmpl/js/libs/tinycon.min'
  },
  shim: {
    'underscore': {
      exports: '_'
    },
    //'developr-all' : ['developr-setup', 'developr-navigable'],
    //'developr' : ["jquery", "developr-setup", ""], //, "developr-input", "developr-message", "", ""],
    'backbone': {
      deps: ["underscore", "jquery"],
      exports: 'Backbone'
    }
  }
});

the other modules such as developr.navigable is not able to find the template variable defined in set up. Any clue ?
displayinline

Hi,

Well, it looks like a scope issue: the template plugins are looking for the jQuery object in the scope of the AMD callback, and won’t find it because it is defined on window (AFAIK).

You may try to edit the plugins files, and replace this.jQuery by window.jQuery on the last line of each one.

Tell me if this does not help!

Default-user
nazeem Purchased

Infact I had modified the lines

//;(function($, window, document, undefined)
 define(['jquery'], function($) {
...
...
//})(this.jQuery, window, document);
});

so I am passing the jquery object from require.js. I had also removed the last line from your tmpl.. Since window and document are also available as global param.

Am i missing some thing..?

displayinline

Actually, this looks perfectly fine to me… Maybe jQuery isn’t totally compliant with AMDs: in the standard version it does not return anything, so $ might not be set. Did you test it already?

Also, you may link to window.jQuery instead, it should always be defined.

Tell me if you still have issues with this!

Default-user
nazeem Purchased

Inside the navigable plugin, i check if $.template is undefined, then i set the $ to window.jQuery. But even in window.jQuery the template is undefined. Should i make some changes in set up to make the template in global scope ?

displayinline

This may only work if you use window.jQuery on every file, otherwise some files will write to $ (which may be available only in a given scope) and other to window.jQuery – hence the undefined elements.

Sorry I can’t help more, I never used this template with require.js before!

Hi Display:Inline, Can please tell me how to disable a textbox using javascript or jQuery.?

Thanks for your previous Help, I need your Help again..

Thanks in advance. :)

displayinline

Hi,

You may simply use this:

$('#input').prop('disabled', true);

Note that if you are trying to disable a checkbox, a switch or a select, you should rather use the dedicated template methods:

// Enable
$('#input').enableInput();

// Disable
$('#input').disableInput();

They basically do the same as the code above, but they also make sure the styled element reflects the disabled state. Note that they will work on standard text inputs too, so you can use them everywhere if you want to ;)

Hope this helps! ;)

Hey,

Your theme have clean and professional look we are interested of buying it.

I have a few questions:

We need a theme with 3 levels of navigation.

The top level will have several main options (tool selection), then each tool may have several types of reports (second level of navigation) and each report will have a third level of navigation with different settings while settings are grouped in groups. This last level of navigation looks similar to right sidebar. Is it possible to achieve this using your template?

It looks like right sidebar will fit the 3rd level of navigation (settings grouped in groups). But we don’t like this sidebar being on the right side. Is it easy to put it on the left side instead?

Another question is with graphs. Does your template supports different types of graphs? (We saw only 1 simple graph).

Do you have documentation for this theme?

displayinline

Hi!

Great to hear you like my work :)

The main menu can take as many levels as required, mix various item styles, include group separators and even load sections dynamically using AJAX (just by providing an url in the right place). So I guess it should fit perfectly with your requirements.

You can simply reverse the layout (nav on the left, shortcuts on the right) by adding the class reversed to the body element of your page – this may even be done in using JS: try opening your browser’s developer tools (F12) go to the console panel and type:

$('body').toggleClass('reversed');

Of course, both nav and shortcuts modules can be removed from your page, the whole layout will adapt.

About graphs, the template uses the great Google Charts API, you can find a gallery of all available chart types here.

The template also includes a detailed and comprehensive documentation, with ready-to-use code examples and tips for every feature.

Feel free to ask if you have any other question! :)

Default-user

Thanks for the prompt reply!

We checked “reverse” thing and it looks good. Will it be easy to put nav icons on the left side as well (those icons that appear on the right side when “reverse” class is used?

Thank you!

displayinline

Actually, shortcut icons and main menu have to be each on one side of the screen, there is no way to get them both on one side.

You may change that yourself by editing the CSS, but this may look a bit weird and overcrowded on one side, in my opinion ;)

How can i dynamically select the right side green menu….. Here is the below code of menu…

<li class="with-right-arrow"> <span><span class="list-count">2</span>User Creation</span> <ul class="big-menu"> <li><a href="StaffCreation.aspx">Staff Creation</a></li> <li><a id="Student_Creation" href="StudentCreation.aspx">Student Creation</a></li> </ul> </li>

And currently i have used a javascript to select an item here is it..

if (!$("#Student_Creation").hasClass("current navigable-current"))
                $("#Student_Creation").addClass("current navigable-current").change();

but its not working.. plz help me….

Thanks..

displayinline

Hi,

Sorry, but I am not sure to understand what you are trying to do, can you give me more details? What do you mean by “select”, for a menu item?

Your code is just fine for adding the visual selected style, but the change event will have no effect on a link. Do you mean to open the link? If so, you should either use an AJAX loading method, or simply simulate the click on the link:

$("#Student_Creation").click();

If you can give me more details I should be able to help ;)

zybosoft

Actually what i need is, page corresponding menu is not appear properly….

please check the screenshot..

https://www.dropbox.com/s/0dlmuiutz1t559e/Final.jpg?m

In ScreenShot #1 and Screenshot #2 are same page. but it is not the corresponding menu…. I need the Second Screenshot Menu…..

Thanks

displayinline

If you want the menu item to be shown directly when the page loads, simply add the 2 classes current navigable-current to the anchor in the markup, the plugin will handle this for you.

If you want to show it dynamically, here’s how you may do this:

var link = $('#Student_Creation').addClass('current navigable-current'),
    parent = link.closest('ul').closest('li, .navigable');
if (parent.length && !parent.hasClass('navigable'))
{
    parent.children('a, span').first().click();
}

Hope this helps! ;)

Love this template but have run into an issue. Using datatables extensively with the template and started using datatools and the other plugins for datatables (colvis, colreorder, etc.). The other tools need a more current version (1.9) or later of datatables. I started using 1.9.4. I tried upgrading datatables but now none of the styling works for the tables. I’m not looking forward to comparing the jquery.datatables.css files and the new datatables.css files. Have you already done this? Perhaps in anticipation of an upgrade to Developr coming soon?

displayinline

Hi!

Actually, the latest version (1.9.4) works perfectly fine here with the template custom stylesheet. Maybe you overwrote the stylesheet with the default one when updating? Try reverting to the file js/libs/DataTables/jquery.dataTables.css in the template package and it should get back to normal ;)

thanks again. Great template!

displayinline

Hello, and thanks! :)

Unfortunately, the submit inputs can’t have icons as they don’t support pseudo-elements (:before or :after). If you don’t depend on the input type, you may use a button type instead:

<button class="button blue-gradient icon-someicon" type="submit">Filter</button>

Hi Again :)

Im using the row-drop tr on datatables’s on click event, and it works great, like this:

$('#dt').on('click', 'tbody td', function (event) {
    // Do not process if something else has been clicked;
    if (event.target !== this) {
        return;
    }
    var tr = $(this).parent(),
        row = tr.next('.row-drop'),
        rows;
    // If click on a special row
    if (tr.hasClass('row-drop')) {
        return;
    }
    // If there is already a special row
    if (row.length > 0) {
        // Un-style row
        tr.children().removeClass('anthracite-gradient glossy');
        // Remove row
        row.remove();
        return;
    }
    // Remove existing special rows
    rows = tr.siblings('.row-drop');
    if (rows.length > 0) {
        // Un-style previous rows
        rows.prev().children().removeClass('anthracite-gradient glossy');
        // Remove rows
        rows.remove();
    }
    // Style row
    tr.children().addClass('anthracite-gradient glossy');
    // Add fake row
    $('' +
        '' +
            'Opciones de Usuario: John Doe
' + 'Opciones de Moderador: admin
' + '' + '').insertAfter(tr); });

but here is the problem, the row created has static content… I need to make an ajax call and get the content from the db so it will show content according to the line that was clicked on… my problem is this, how can I get the value of one of the columns of the row that was clicked on, so for example, I can get the id or user (a row is called that, user) and then I can call an ajax to grab the info for that user and show it on the row-drop…

any ideas?

displayinline

Hi!

You may simply retrieve the content of one cell of the clicked row this way:

// If ID is in the second cell, its index is 1 (indexes start at 0)
var id = tr.children(':eq(1)').text();

Note that if you want to avoid making ajax calls, you may use HTML5 data-* attributes: when building your table server-side, store any additional data you want for each row in an array, and add it as a data attribute of the row itself:

<?php

// Row data, gather it from any source you have
$rowData = array(
    'info1' => 'text',
    'info2' => 25
);

// Build row
?><tr data-row-infos="<?php echo json_encode($rowData); ?>">
...
</tr>

Note that the data-row-info attribute uses single quotes: this is on purpose, as json data uses double quotes.

Then build the extra row this way:

// Retrieve row data
var rowData = tr.data('row-infos');

// Build info row
$('<tr class="row-drop">'+
    '<td colspan="'+tr.children().length+'">'+
        '<strong>Info 1:</strong> '+rowData.info1+'<br />'+
        '<strong>Info 2:</strong>  '+rowData.info2+
    '</td>'+
'</tr>').insertAfter(tr);

This code grads the data contained in the data-row-infos attribute, and uses it to build the extra row markup. You just need to adapt this example to the actual data you’ll store and use.

Hope this helps! ;)

Question… I’m using this theme for an asp.net application. I’m using the inbox html as a navigation for a reporting filter feature. I have everything working fine except for one small issue.

Let’ say I use the navigation on the left and drill down to the report that I’m looking for. Then I click the report name which is an tag. From there the page hits the server and process some stuff. When the page returns, the menu is reset to it’s original state. I need for the menu to stay open to it’s last position prior to the page post. Is there some javascript that I can call from the server to set the current list item?

Thanks for the help.

Neil

displayinline

Hi!

You can simply tell the navigation panel which item is the current one by adding the class navigable-current to its anchor when building the markup: the menu will automatically open on this element.

Is this what you are looking for?

Default-user
neilfl123 Purchased

Thanks for the quick reply.

I see that the class sets the active node but here’s the problem that I’m running into. (or what I think is happening) When the page posts, the javascript that set’s the nav item runs. Then the page hits the server and I set the actual current item. When the page returns I don’t think that the javascript is re-run so the items doe not get updated. Is there a particular function that I can call when the response returns to the browser?

Thanks, Neil

displayinline

Actually, the code that shows the current element is run for every page load, so you shouldn’t have to worry about it. If you use some kind of ajax loading, you may do something like this to show the current item:

$('#menu .navigable-current').applySetup(true);

It will re-run the init process, add the styling classes to the element, and open the corresponding section.

Tell me if you need more details! :)

Hi!

No problem, feel free to ask even the most basic questions :) Actually, you don’t even need JS: simply add the class menu-hidden to the body element in your HTML code, and the page will load with the menu closed by default.

You can find more details in the documentation, in Template basics / How the template works / Basic markup explained.

“only-on-tablet-landscape”

in the class is there?

displayinline

Hi,

Not by default, but this is easy to add: in style.css and 1200.css, add this style:

.only-on-tablet-landscape { display: none; }

And in 992.css, add this one:

.only-on-tablet-landscape { display: block; }

The elements with this class will then only show when the tablet-landscape media query is on ;)

Hello!

You just need to add the class clearfix to your DD, it will ensure the floated content is correctly wrapped.

Tell me if you need more details! ;)

Hello, I wanted to know whether, “sScrollX” only for mobile , and for rest of the screen it remains the same.

  • Has been a member for 1-2 years

What i dint is instead of “sScrollX”: “200px”,

“sScrollX”: “100%”, Is it the right way to do?

And 1 more problem am facing here(in mobile) is that the title is getting slightly off the border and there is a delay between the column heading and data column appearing while scrolling horizontally. The data column moves first and after a some time delay the column slides.

Hope you can figure out what am trying to put through. :)

Hi,

If you want a different configuration for the mobile layout, here’s how you can do using the template mediaQuery tool:

$(document).ready(function()
{
    $('#example').dataTable( {
        "sScrollX": ($.template.mediaQuery.isSmallerThan('tablet-portrait')) ? "100%" : "",
        "bScrollCollapse": true
  } );
});

About the scrolling delay, this happens because the DataTables plugin has to watch the table scroll, and position the headers each time it happens – the delay is caused by the time required for scroll detection. Unfortunately, there’s not much to do about it…

Thank for the reply.

Can please tell me why on the column heading is not getting with reset of the table untill we scroll till the end of the table. You can see on the image, that on the right side the column is extended.

This is how it looks while scrolling…

Mmh… I guess this has to do with the way the DataTables plugin handles table scrolling. Maybe some CSS issue, but it’s hard to tell.

Did you try checking or asking on their forum? You’ll find way more information there than I can provide ;)
