Is there anyway to use the agenda stylesheet to put the time on the vertical without rewriting the entire .css? If so, can you point me in the right direction.

Here’s an example of what I’m trying to achieve here

Thanks, Chuck

displayinline

Hi,

Unfortunately this is not possible: it would require a complete rewrite of the agenda styles and plugin… Sorry!

I sent you a private email about doing some work for me on that. Could you check your email and let me know? Thanks, chuck

hi, thanks for the previous support.

i have another… what would i need to do to completely remove the right menu section and top button? this may have already been answered – sorry if it has but got brain freeze reading all comments [recommend you have a word with envato – they should make em searchabale!] your help would be greatly appreciated. :-)

displayinline

Hi!

You just need to remove the whole menu section and the menu button from your page, and also remove the class with-menu from the body element.

The template will then adapt to the new layout ;)

that simple. that classic. i feel like a ‘tard! missed the with-menu element. cheers for this. template being used as a placeholder for php so occassionally will miss the obvious. i knew its better to ask – sit here for hours disappearing up my proverbial!! much appreciated.

will send beer donation when dev finished.

That’s the kind of things that is obvious only when you see it ;) Glad I could help, feel free to ask if you have any other question!

Hi,

1. Do you have any suggestion to include a Timepicker too along with the DatePicker?

2. I wanted to display the icon-user (or any other icon) with a circle around it like we show the Count. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks.

displayinline

Hi,

1. You may use one of these plugins: jquery-timepicker, oclock analog time picker or ptTimeSelect, or use a complete solution for date and time selection such as MobiScroll

2. You may add a custom style for the count element when it features an icon:

.count[class^="icon-"],
.count[class*=" icon-"] {
    padding: 4px 6px;
    -webkit-border-radius: 13px;
    -moz-border-radius: 13px;
    border-radius: 13px;
}

Hope this helps! ;)

Hi,

I am the proud owner of this template, i have an older version and was wondering what is the procedure to upgrade my website to enjoy the new features?

Is the new version backward compatible?

Thanks,

Guy.

displayinline

Hi,

Upgrading is easy if you did not make any change to the template CSS and JS files: simply overwrite the folders js/, css/ and img/ with the one in the latest version, and you are done ;)

The new version is fully backward compatible, nothing changed in the markup or in the plugins’ options. The only change is some new meta-tags in the head section, but they are optional.

If you made changes to the template’s files, you can use a diff tool such as Winmerge to spot the differences and easily merge the two versions.

Tell me if you need more details! :)

I can’t seem to get the slider to stick to a fractional step. I’m trying to create a slider that has a min of -100 and a max of 100… starting at 0 so the user can take a price (let’s say $300) and mark it up X percent by sliding the slider to the left… or discount the price by X percent by sliding it to the right. We have the need to do fractional percents (quarter percents). For example… let’s say the item is $300 but they need to discount it by 15.25 percent. I can allow them to type it into the text field to generate the discount… but it would be nice to also allow them to use the slider to slide between the steps as well.

Here is the code I’m using… but it is still snapping/rounding to the nearest percent instead of using the 0.25 step I requested. Am I doing something wrong… or do the sliders not allow for fractional steps?

<p class="inline-medium-label button-height">
    <label for="my-demo-slider1" class="label">My test 2</label>
    <input type="text" name="my-demo-slider1" id="my-demo-slider1" value="0" class="input demo-slider mid-margin-right" size="2" data-slider-options='{"hideInput":false,"min":-100,"max":100,"step":0.25,"stickToStep":true,"topMarks":50,"topLabel":"[value]%","innerMarks":25,"innerMarksOverBar":true,"bottomMarks":[{"value":-100,"label":"premium"},{"value":100,"label":"discount"}],"insetExtremes":true}'>
</p>

Sorry… that is a little hard to read. Here are the options I’m trying to use but it still doesn’t want to snap to the quarter-step… it continues to round to a full integer.

{
"hideInput":false,
"min":-100,
"max":100,
"step":0.25,
"stickToStep":true,
"topMarks":50,
"topLabel":"[value]%",
"innerMarks":25,
"innerMarksOverBar":true,
"bottomMarks":[{"value":-100,"label":"premium"},{"value":100,"label":"discount"}],
"insetExtremes":true
}

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Something else I noticed… if I use an HTML5 input=”number” instead of input=”text”... it won’t update the number field when using the slider. Is the slider only good on text fields or is it possible to make it also work with number fields?

Regarding the above… I see that it had “round” set to true as default. When changing that to false… it will now allow me to do the decimal steps. I can see that I can use a number field as well. Something that I’m experiencing for both text and number fields though… is if the field has focus and I go over and change the slider… it won’t update the field until after it loses focus (which doesn’t happen while you are using the slider… you have to tab out or click somewhere else on the page for it to lose focus and update). Any way that we can have it update during the slide no matter if it has focus or not?

Something else I would like to try is the ability to have my slider switch bar colors depending on the value. For the example shown above (-100 to 100)... I would like the bar to be green when the value is less than zero and the bar to be red when the value is greater than zero. Is that possible?

And one thing I would love to see (but it is probably out of the scope of your plugin at least for the time being) is the ability to have the bar start from a particular location. It would be great if in that -100 to 100 example that the bar could start at 0… and then if you move the slider to the right towards 100… the bar follows the slider from zero on up. And vice-versa… if you are moving the slider down below zero, it would be great if the bar could start at zero and move left as you moved the slider below zero. Hopefully I explained that well enough… does that make sense? If you could do that and be able to change colors based on the value, that would make it pretty much AMAZING!

displayinline

Hi,

Glad to hear you already found the solution :)

About the input not updating when it has focus, this is on purpose: the plugin updates its internal value as the user types, so if a non-valid value is entered it gets replaced before the user can continue. For instance, if you have a slider that goes from 50 to 100, and the user wants to enter 75 and starts typing 7, the value will be replaced by 50 (the minimum) before the user could complete.

Though, when dragging the cursor, the value should indeed update. So I modified the plugin to allow this, you can download the latest version here.

About the red/green switch and two-sided bar, this is can be done like this:

function updateSliderBar(value)
{
    var slider = $(this),
        bar = slider.find('.slider-bar');
    if ( value >= 0 )
    {
        bar.removeClass('red-gradient')
            .addClass('green-gradient')
            .css({
                left: '50%'
            });
    }
    else
    {
        bar.removeClass('green-gradient')
            .addClass('red-gradient')
            .css({
                left: (slider.innerWidth()-bar.parseCSSValue('right'))+'px',
                right: '50%'
            });
    }
}

// Slider
$('#slider').slider({

    min: -100,
    max: 100,
    onChange: updateSliderBar

}).each(function()
{
    var input = $(this);
    updateSliderBar.call(input.data('slider').element[0], parseFloat(input.val()));
});

Hope this helps! ;)

I’ve built a page similar to the messaging demo except mine displays rows of data in the content panel when a user clicks a menu choice. Presently I have an ajax function which builds the markup from the json object return from php/mysql. Everything works fine except in mobile.. I can’t use the on-panel-load.. class as I send an “id” to a function to build the content. I originally tried building all the markup at once and then add to the panel but it was a little slow so now I add as each row is built.

Whats the best way to load the panel with markup like this but still be responsive?

displayinline

Hi,

You may try to manually add the class which shows the content panel, at the end of your function getMaps():

$('.content-panel').addClass('show-panel-content');

It will not affect the wide-screen layout, but the panels should now work as expected on mobile devices.

Hope this helps! ;)

I have looked in great detail at this theme. It is amazing in so many ways, and as a web developer, I can confirm this.

I was wondering if the site was built on a CSS preprocessor, and if so, would those styles also be made available along with the purchase?

Finally, @displayinline, please contact me if you are interested in working with me to make this a wordpress admin theme.

displayinline

Thanks a lot! :)

About the CSS, I did not use LESS/SASS, but the various stylesheets are modular, well organised and commented, so they are easy to work with.

And thanks for the offer! Unfortunately I am not available for freelance work. But let me know if you start working on it and need advice, I’ll do my best to help! ;)

Hi displayinline,

We’re having a problem with the glDatePicker.js, on line 817:

Array.prototype._indexOf = function(value) {
    return $.inArray(value, this);
}

This is causing an issue where some arrays on pages are getting the _indexOf function added to them which messes with data being displayed on the pages, showing “undefined” since the function doesn’t have the data we’re calling when looping through the arrays.

As a temporary fixed, I’ve commented out those 3 lines and renamed all _indexOf’s to indexOf, and it seems to be working as normal, however, do you have any recommendations on a fix for this?

Thanks

displayinline

Hi,

This is a common issue when adding methods to native objects. You can prevent this by adding a simple check when looping on your object’s properties:

for (var name in object) {
    if (object.hasOwnProperty(name)) {
        // Display, process...
    }
}

Hope this helps! :)

Hi if I want to sent up a tool for;

How and what knowledge do I need before I start, is it drag n drop or cut paste?

I would like: - an administrator and clients to login alike, - for the administrator to quickly setup forms and track data and stats - clients to fill in forms, upload pictures sent that data to email address and our mysql DB - clients to be able to review and edit the data they have filled in - clients only able to review data, edit and delete data they have added - have client presentation pages for each set of data (like a profile) they fill in - admin can see everything - admin to be able to create reports from the global set of data fill in

Would this be easy, hard or impossible for a total beginner? please.

Many thanks, Neil

Hi,

This template is just a skin for developers, it is not functional by itself. You need to implement it yourself on top of any existing CMS/framework and code the features you need.

You need average knowledge in a server-side language (for the framework), HTML/CSS and a bit of jQuery to use it. If you know all of these, you are ready to go and create whatever you want ;)

Tell me if you need more details!

Is it possible to add the ajax menu to a div that scrolls? I would like to keep the selection in place but have the options scrolls. So if I selected “With ajax sub-menu” the selection would stay as it is now, but “This menu”, “Was loaded”, Using Ajax” and etc.. would have the ability to scroll.

Hi,

Sorry but I am not sure to understand what you are trying to achieve, do you mean something like the collapsible menus? Can you give me more details, or create a mockup? That would help me provide the best solution ;)

Hi! First off this is really a fun and great work. =)

But I was wondering I have a client that really likes the tables used in this and would really like to use them on his site.

Is there any chance a separate release/product of just the table system, an it’s needed files would be available?

You can’t imagine how popular that would be, because well there just isn’t much really good out there for a cool ready made table systems that already include all the css, gradient visual and styling etc…that actually out of the box look good/up to date.

I can imagine it would be a total winner!

I would buy the template and use that just for the table system, however without extensive pruning, there would be too many css and other conflicts with the entire system when dropping this template into another web site.

So an effective pruned system, with just what the tables need would be most effective.

Any chance? Shouldn’t take too long, maybe a snap since you know the code. And another great product. We would definitely be your first buyer as well as I can imagine many others on here.

Best,

-C

displayinline

Hi, and thanks! :)

About the table styles, copying css/styles/table.css and js/libs/DataTables/jquery.dataTables.css should allow you to use the template’s table style on most websites. Maybe a few trick would be required (font-size, line-height, paddings…), but nothing too complex.

Most of the features are brought in by the plugin Datatables which is freely available, so I don’t think this is worth making a whole new product for just a few CSS styles ;)

Default-user

While you are the author I might differ from your view. =)

In most web sites we’d and probably most people/developers would be going with the non dataTables tables view. Meaning we’d want to install our own code object code etc…for accessing data, set/get functions etc… Plus specific things for those sites.

And with the age of bootstrapping, most developers don’t want to have to deal with the visuals, as really a table is a table is a table, visually. =)

For us it’s always the request for the code behind the things in the table that developers want to key on. =) And not the visual display. =) That’s why they want to bootstrap and in reality that’s why they buy your template. A good one that it is.

Hope this makes sense. From one of your buyers. You provide the visual template, I drop in the code and Bam! It’s done. =)

I think tables are the same. A visual pattern that gets recreated way too many times.

While I’d use and have used dataTables jQuery code for underlying code sorting and what not background stuff behind the scenes. You’d be surprised how many people want a quick fast drop in, self contained visual template for tables. All CSS table gradients, buttons, icons, effects etc… Bam! Easily tweaked, all CSS all the time. =)

And have you seen the possible visual templates for the dataTables plugin, look like a sixth grader did them. =) Do a quick search and you’ll see what I mean, mostly none available and those available are well…crap. =)

Just a request from your fan/user base. =)

I’m pretty sure it would take more than above copying code to get it to work. =)

Note: I see you have a lot of requests for a cms or bootstrap software to fit in with your templates. Our software at MediaBlinkk does automatically as we are big fans. Plus it requires no install. Just a heads up. Maybe a joint effort/partnership.

Would have sent you a note direct, but wasn’t sure other than this how to contact you or let you know.

Default-user

And we have a wealth of bootstrap patterns/aps.

I’ll take a quick peak to see though, it’ll help us make a tighter integration. I think I’m talking about the tables css buttons, css gradients, form styles etc…that are also controlled by the styles css, forms css, and js and so on. As well as the built in visual display for the click to display the extra data in a row and the message bubbles and info slide ins/bottom slide ups and so on and so on that show up and are needed in a table. Visually. =)

While I could do this myself, it would be nice to have a drag and drop version. =)

Plus I don’t want to frankenstein the code and I want to give credit where credit is due. =)

Cheers,

Hi,

This is a known issue with Modernizr on some very specific Android devices/browsers, which trigger a false negative on generated content support (:before/:after).

This is easy to fix: in setup.js, replace this line:

if ($('html').hasClass('no-generatedcontent'))

By this one:

if ($.template.ie7)

This will break compatibility with a few old devices/browsers, but will solve the issue for the ones with this issue. I regularly check Modernizr updates for a fix for this, it will probably be available soon ;)

Let me know if you have any other question!

I have several buttons in a table that I want to trigger menuTooltip with parameters. I need to be able to access $(this) values of the button I clicked before I launch the tooltip because the menu options will depend on which button type was clicked. I can’t seem to find the right syntax to slot in a jQuery function to determine the content, although the documentation for tooltip refers to: * @var string|function|jQuery content a text or html content to display, or a function to run on the element to get the content

I tried to use my own click event and trigger menuTooltip manually but that didn’t go to plan either so I’m a bit stuck.

displayinline

Hi,

Here’s how you can use a function to build the tooltip content dynamically:

$('#button').menuTooltip(function()
{
    // 'this' refers to the target element of the menu
    return 'This button says ' + $(this).text();
}, {
    // Options
});

The function will be called each time the menu opens, so it will reflect any change on the button.

Tell me if you need more details! :)

That’s really helpful. I was doing it similarly but I must have had the syntax slightly wrong as it wasn’t working as well as this does.

I am still having a slight issue. Each button is on a row in the table and I want the buttons to load a unique (single) select (with multi styling like the example) into the tooltip. I need to store the selected option for each button/row until the form is submitted. I am having trouble getting the selected value to show again after I click the button a second time. With your help above, I’ve tested getting the content via Ajax, saving the selected value to a hidden input and processing that into the PHP ajax. The problem is I can’t return the Ajax within the custom function, perhaps due to it being asynchronous, although async: false didn’t work either. I also tried processing PHP directly on the page, hiding it, and obtaining the content with .html(). This didn’t work because the “selected” value doesn’t seem to change, even if I force updated manually on the change event.

Default-user
rfu3 Purchased

Finally got it working with the solution below but if there is a way to do this asynchronously that would be amazing…

$('.solutionButton').menuTooltip(function()
{
    var state = $(this).attr('data-state'); // Get my menu type
    var id = $(this).attr('data-docid'); // Get my row number
    var hiddenInput = $("#conflictsTable").find("input[data-docid='"id"']");
    var selectedValue = $(hiddenInput).val(); // Get value of selected option
    var data = $.ajax({url: 'resolve-conflict.php?state='state'&id='id'&selected='+selectedValue, cache: false, async: false }).responseText;
    return data;
}, {
    // Options
});
displayinline

Hi,

Sure, you can make it really asynchronous using something like this:

$('.solutionButton').menuTooltip(function()
{
    var button = $(this);

    // Load
    $.ajax({
        url: 'resolve-conflict.php',
        type: 'GET',
        data: {
            state: button.data('state'),
            id: button.data('docid')
        },
        error: function()
        {
            button.tooltip('Error while loading options', { fromAjax: true });
        },
        success: function(data)
        {
            // If data is not a string, it will require processing
            button.tooltip(data, { fromAjax: true });
        }
    });

    // Loading placeholder
    return '<div style="text-align: center; line-height: 40px"><span class="loader" /> Loading...</div>';
}, {
    /* your options */
});

Note that this method uses an undocumented internal option fromAjax: it will allow replacing the content of the tooltip menu, otherwise locked.

Hope this helps! ;)

I am trying to use this template with on an asp.net project. I am having issues with the modals. I have passed a variable to the function on the onclick event, and viewing in debug the correct variable is passed and the window opens, but then closes immediately. I am using the variable to select data using an sqldatasource and the where statement is equal to the variable passed. The window opens and then immediately closes. If I display the page without using the modal function, it displays fine. My button is: <asp:Button ID=”btnDept” runat=”server” onclick=’<%# “javascript:openDept(” + Eval(“DeptId”).ToString + “);” %>’ text=”Edit” cssclass=”button icon-pencil” /> and my script is: function openDept(x) { $.modal({ title: ‘Edit Department’, url: ‘departments/department.aspx?id=’ + arguments0.toString, useIframe: true, width: 600, height: 400 }); } What am I doing wrong?

displayinline

Hi,

Actually, I see nothing in your code which could explain why this is happening… Hard to tell without testing the actual code. The modal window will never close on its own, so there has to be some script somewhere that triggers unexpectedly.

Did you make sure the loaded content has no call to closeModal(), or at least none that may trigger on page load? This is most likely, as the window closes as soon as it opens and the content is loaded.

Tell me if you still can’t find the solution, we’ll look for another option! ;)

Default-user
leslie67 Purchased

The attribute ‘type’ appears to be the problem. The type in debug is showing the button type as ‘type=submit’. I changed the form element from asp.net button to just a plain form button so I could give the button a type attribute, then the modal window stayed open with the correct data displayed.

displayinline

Ok, I did not see that one coming ;) Glad to hear you found the solution, let me know if you have any other question!
