Missing style sheet error when installing the theme

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a “Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.

How to setup the sidebar.

  1. Install the widget manager plugin. You will be prompted to install this when activating the theme
  2. Go to Appearance > Widgets
  3. Drag the widgets you want to the sidebar area
  4. Go to your home page, up the top will be a new menu “Left/Right Column”, click this to choose which widget area to display on the home page, and if to display it on the left or right or hidden

How to add slider to home page

Go to widgets. Drag the “Header Slider” widget to the “Header” widget area. Tick the box to display the slideshow.

Go to your normal home page. Click the top “Header Area” menu, and then choose the “Header” widget area from the list.

Your slider will now appear on your home page.

How to make home page buttons link to PDF files or categories.

The easiest way is to install the free wordpress plugin redirect here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/quick-pagepost-redirect-plugin/ Then create a temporary page on your blog, and redirect that page to the PDF , URL, Category, etc.. Then you can link to that temporary page from the buttons, and when someone clicks on the button they will be redirected to where you want them to go.

How to setup a gallery

This theme uses the normal wordpress gallery feature, which is documented here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Gallery_Shortcode

Simply create a page, click upload media, upload your photos, then click on gallery at the top. Choose your desired settings and insert gallery.

The default option should be to link to the “Image File”. Please make sure “Image File” is selected within gallery settings rather than “Attachment Page”.
